Cool, just giving heads up. I don't know about Mac. I get alerts to security holes in OS. I get more about winblows than anything else.
Small word of caution. Not all Macs react too well to that update after installing it. Mine, an iMac 2020, misbehaved at startup and when launching apps. It appears that running the Onyx utility has fixed it - so far.
However, I report no problem whatsoever with the latest version of DAZ Studio when running under Monterrey 12.5.1.
Marvelous Designer notified me of an update for MD11, with 'native support for Apple's M1 processors' and 'MAC UI display improvement of tool buttons'.
I had not been sure MD would work on a MacBookPro M1, so I had not installed it (last version I had was MD10 Perpetual). So I may attempt it now. But has anyone else had experience with MD on the MBP M1? Is it worth the installation or am I better using my Win10 computer?

Hi, I'm completely new to Daz Studio and I've been interested in learning how to use its functions. I opened the Installation Manager for the first time and let it download all the products but several product installations failed. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about any of these products that failed to install either.
Edit: Man it's embarrassing that I can't figure out how to delete my comment but I was able to install all the products in the end, for some reason I could only do it one by one instead of them all in a queue.
Don't be embarrassed, it's not that you couldn't figure out how to delete your post, it's that it's just not possible. You can edit it, as you did, but simply delete everything you'd posted and replace it with something like, "Disregard, I solved my problem."

@Lumiscnt The problem is that the first time you run Daz Install Manager (DIM) it may try to install everything you own, but the very first time, things need to be installed in the correct order so you don't get those "Install Failed" messages.
Here is the DIM install order for the first time installing Daz Studio:
1. Uncheck everything except for Daz Studio and install it first.
2. Install the PostgreSQL CMS Database
3. Install all the Starter Essentials
4. Install any other content you wish
NOTE: Make sure Daz Studio is closed when using DIM.
Im trying to download DazDim on my macbook Version 12.5 Monterey but all i get is a installation failed error "an error occured during installation".How can i fix this? (I've tried allowing the permission to install the software in "privacy and security" but its not even an option."
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but what are the exact specs needed to optimally run Daz Studio on a Mac?
I want to make sure the new computer will have everything I need so I can keep rendering.
Thank you very much to anyone who can give me the answer. :)
If you want to render using nVidia hardware, you are out of luck, but otherwise I do recommend the macStudio with M1Max, and give it at least 32GB RAM and 1 TB drive, then add a 2TB-4TB external USB-C drive for content (2TB if you don't have that much content, yet).
Renders pretty fast for CPU, and if I need to render someting that takes time I use "Boost for Daz" to render it in the cloud.
@amiratheweirdo First, go back to your Product Library on the Daz3D.com website and re-download the Zip file for Install Manager Mac64 (DAZ3DIM_1.4.0.80_Mac64.zip). Then, unzip and try to install DIM again.
If that does not work, see if there is a pop-up window behind your other dialogue boxes, asking about approving security settings. If not, go directly to System Preferences / Security & Privacy select the Privacy tab and select "Full Disk Access". Put a tick in the box beside the DAZ3DIMHelper item.
If that does not work, quit the installer, and go to your Macintosh HD and add a "DAZ 3D" folder to your Applications folder. Then, run the DIM installer again.
Mac HD --> Applications --> DAZ 3D
If that does not work, quit the installer, and go to your Macintosh HD and add a "DAZ 3D" folder to your Applications folder and then a "DAZ3DIM1 64-bit" folder inside the DAZ 3D folder. Then, run the DIM installer again.
Mac HD --> Applications --> DAZ 3D --> DAZ3DIM1 64-bit
If that doesn't work, open a support ticket with Daz:

@Pipefox The offical Daz link (below) has both the minimum specs for Macintosh and Windows PC. However, the page date shows that it has not been updated since July 17, 2017. For example, it only lists Intel Macs, but Daz Studio now runs on Apple silicon as well (M1, M2, etc.). Hopefully, the Daz Team will update this page soon.
I agree with @Totte that a MacStudio with a M1Max and 32GB RAM is a good option, or if you want a laptop, go with one of the new M2 MacBooks and max out the RAM, since Macs render using the CPU and RAM.

Thank you so much Totte and robertswww! I really appreciate your kind help!
Hello, I've run across an issue with using the DAZ Install Manager on the Mac where files will download but then it gets stuck in Ready to Install with "Install Failed". It's not every package, I've been able to successfully download and install content through DIM since this problem started. I've tried the following steps to get these files installed.
1) I've deleted the packages in the Ready to Install tab, and redownloaded them. Same results.
2) I've manually deleted the .zip files and xml files from users/shared/installmanager/downloads and tried redownloading from DIM, Same results.
3) I've manually downloaded the package from the Product Library page. It shows up in ready to install, but then moves back to ready to download in the product updates section. At this point the package is not installed, checking both in the Smart Content in DAZ Studio and in the library hierarchy in My Daz 3D Library. If I click to download from the product updates, it ends up back where I started with "Install Failed".
Any suggestions to other ways I could try to get these installed through DIM or otherwise to be able to install and use the metadata features?
Thank you!
I guess the issue is that you need to allow DIM helper in the System Controls Panel, Security and Integrity and the Integrity Tab
Allow full disk access to the DIM helper and DAZ3DIM.app
Checked all the permissions for both DIM and the helper and everything is set up correctly based on what I've read in other threads. Added both DIM and the install helper to full disk access as well to the same effect. I am still able to successfully install other items its specific packages that don't seem to work. On a whim I tried deleting all of the manifest files but that didn't fix it either. I'm wondering if the original download got corrupted somehow and there is a cache or something that its still pulling from when trying to install.
@Totte -- Just wanted to say thanks for your utility, Rendoinstall 2.0. I had a monster, 2-terayte DAZ library cobbled together with oodles of DIM-installed and manually-installed assets going back over a decade; I retired in June and last week I decided to migrate all of my 3D stuff over to a new iMac. I wasn't worried about the DIM-installed stuff, but the thousands and thousands of packages from third parties had me worried, until I remembered your utility. What a lifesaver. I installed tthe first 2,000 zip packages in about 10 minutes.
Thanks very, very much.
Have you checked DIM's log file to see if it tells you what went wrong? I know I had an issue with the Moon Mining Equipment package, and the lot told me that it coldn't install template files (which shouldn't have been in the .zip in DIM at all).
You're welcome!
I wrote the first RendoInstall over ten years ago after tghe third time I had to spend an evening repairing a friend's content libraries messup. It gets the job done.
OK, I agree with the above, check the DIM logs (there are two logs). I had one item stuck in DIM a while back, I guess the download was broken so the file was not complete.
Monterey 12.6
Anyone running Daz on 12.6? ... any issuses?
Runnng well for me on 12.5.1
I run 12.6 on my macStudio and it has been running the same as on 12.5
Here is the log message i had gotten, doesn't look like anything is showing up in the helper log related to this (no entries for yesterday), don't see anything weird in the startup log messages either.

Edit: Just for clarity I have plenty of free space on my only HD (about 250 GB available).
It's probably a long-shot, but what happens if you track down the file "Bush.dsf.ztmp" and just change the extention to ".zip"?
To you have the folder "/Users/Shared/My DAZ 3D Library/data/Petipet" by any chance? Please check, and look carefully at captilization....
What file system have you on your mac?
I know a long shot, but better to rule out the obvious before digging deeper.
Oh, I didn't even know about this. How do I get the RendoInstall app or file?

I'm also running 12.6 on my Macintosh Pro, late 2013 edition, Intel (of course). Runs very well.
@Totte: Thanks very much; I've just downloaded it.
Can't figure out where to put this: It's a freebie from ShareCG. It's a Captain America Shield. Here's what is in it when I unzip the zip (Screen Shot 1). As a test, I put those in my DAZ Third Party Products Library, to keep things separate from the DAZ content library. I thought it was basically a prop, so I put the folder into Props. When I click on the folder, and try to load anything, I got the following Missing Files info from DAZ Studio: The files listed below could not be found
/Users/dave/Documents/cas.obj
/Users/dave/Documents/cas_Textures/Captain_America_Shield.png
/Users/dave/Documents/flag.jpeg
My name is not Dave, by the way. So, can anyone help with this? Here is the link to the product I downloaded: https://www.sharecg.com/v/85268/related/5/3D-Model/Captain-Americas-shield
I just now redownloaded this file, just to see if there's something I missed. I got the same thing. Could this possibly be an image that should be pasted onto a shield I already have? I can't figure out what to do with it, and yet there are people there thanking this person for contributing the shield.
You probably need to fix the duf as it probably is not set up correctly.
open it with BBEdit or TextWrangler and seach for the name of the texture (the .png) I guess it does not point to a relative path that starts with Runime/Textures... but a full path.
