Soto's new Spiky Hair for Genesis 3 and 8. This is a dense, wirey hair with a nappy hair scalp  that will take up a fair amount of render time to use. It is 841 MB.

The short dense,  scalp hair wasn't something I noticed in the promos, but you can see it when you render up close. I think it looks very realistic, and is begging for some highlights. I wll have to see if there are some.

I am glad you noticed that hair; i actually had made a render for you in case Boyd and Owen wanted a new hairstyle:

    Does anyone else have: https://www.daz3d.com/stylish-shaved-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-male-s

Mine doesn't appear to be parenting properly to the head. It also doesn't cover the back of the head, and there doesn't seem to be adjustments. Please let me know if you have it.

I have it, but I don't think I've had the parenting issue. It parents to G8M root node, and moves with the head the way it should. I know that I've had morph and coverage issues with it, because I set it up to be fitted and parented to the cap for Tousled hair, but it's been long enough that I don't remember the specific issue. It wouldn't surprise me if it were to give it adjustment morphs because it wasn't covering the back of the head properly.

And no, it doesn't have adjustments.

Stylish hair and Stylish Shaved Hair are, I think, probably the worst hairs that Samsil has done. I'm not sure why they don't have even an Expand All. They're not terrible -- they're still usable and about the only things like them anywhere -- but they're not as good as any of his other hairs, even the ones for G2.

I’ll try fitting it to the tousled cap. For some reason neither Owen or Boyd can fit in this hair. The back is almost entirely misssing and there are no morphs to fix the issue. This is why I really need to test stuff before it goes off 30 days. I tried messing with the scaling but it doesn’t work.

I have a few hairstyles like that so I end up using the SY hair and hat fixer.

I picked up troy hair to trigger the discount on spiked hair. I confess this is a product I would likely return, if I didn't want to keep the other hair. My problem with this hair, is it is just implausible and helmet-y. The top of the hair is wavy, combed from front to back. The lower sides are rigidly staight combed down but still... Shaggy. There is no part, and the hair on the top spills over to the sides, and somehow manages to remain combed straight forward? It just looks... Odd to me. Without a lot of product this would not be happening, and even with product, you aren't getting soft hair combed foward, and you most definitely would have a part where the hair on the side, and the hair on the top are meeting. It looks like two different styles thrown together...

It is somewhat more tolerable in darker shades, but this isn't a style I like.

    i think it's supposed to be like over-syled G-Dragon type K-pop hair.

Unfortunately, not every ethnic haircut looks good on everybody as Bo Derek and her cornrows has taught us.  Here is a more K-Pop like look.

laughI actually like bo derrick in her corn rows. I'm not sure anyone can rock this hair personally,  but you did a nice job with that render. I will concede the hair looks better the darker you make it and from the direct front. From the side, I think it looks strange.

I may have some sore memories about Bo Derek and that haircut; Since her haircut was a weird mashup of real African hairstyles, it was odd to see the celebration of a hairtyle that millions of women had.  The woman hired to braid Bo Derek's hair, Ann Collins said it best in 1980: "We’ve always worn our hair like this," she said in the article. "But it’s just a fad for whites.”

That was off topic:  The troy cut is a variation of what is called the Messy cut in Korea which is strangely puffier in real life.... it is definitely a pop star not everyday haircut for most men but a K-pop teen would recognize it in a moment.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,651

The messy cut doesn't have sides like this though. Troy  has more of a bowl cut similar to hair in the 80s.

Kpop hair in general is similar to the style popularized by Justin Beiber when he first started singing.

Pose Challenge: Okay, so in celebration of valentines day, I am willing to make 6-8 poses for a special Valentines pose set. The poses should be for adult men. Affection and kissing is fine, no porn. Couples are okay.  They don't need to be valentines themed. They can be anything, although, I am not specifically skilled at certain poses I shall certain try my hand. No gruesome death by impalement or anything like that. I don't have any concept of how that would look anyway. laugh

I reserve the right to reject a pose, since there are some I just can't make work. I am making the same offer on my Deviant Art  page, so the first 6-8 I get by time stamp, I will do. If I don't succeed at one request, I will try the next one and so on. When they are done, I will release or pose your pose as a free download.

laugh That is how my hair is if I let it grow out and don't use product. Repeatedly. On the same day. Sometimes I feel as if I have pipecleaners growing out of my head!  Needless to say I've learned to use clippers to give me a high & tight fade. I also use straightener on the top. That's as a minimal care a hair style I can give myself without shaving it off in a buzzcut.

Remember those cute Valentine's cards that were exchanged as elementary school kids in US on Valentine's Day? Some of them had groaner puns and some had cute puns. How about using 6 - 8 of those as your inspiration?

You’re remembering it incorrectly: the “cute” puns were groaners, too.

Well, that's disappointing as the poses were all mundane "Boy meets Girl" poses, eg, like the boy bowing with one hand tucked into his stomach while the other reaches out holding a bouquet of flowers and so on and so forth.

I need a frame of reference or image to understand what you have in mind. I don't have a frame of reference for the cards you want although they sound cute I didn't have those types of cards in school

Do you mean those sort of vaguely chibi-like characters that were on the "Love Is..." cards? or something else?

I remember cards from valentines day in school, but they were almost all words and hearts and flowers and such. Not full sized greeting cards, but little two sided things -- those were what we did in school, way way way back when. (I was very glad when they stopped forcing us to do those things. Nothing fills you with the valentine spirit like being forced to give cards to people who don't like you and whom you don't like either. But I digress.)
