Is the sign no longer there
I would imagine it still is, it comes with a Texaco Gas Pump, which is one of the nicest gas pumps I have seen on the warehouse.
And here's another real beauty, this I imagine is a gta conversion that was done by lowrider freak, at least it was in his listings that I got this truck, beautifully done 1956 Ford F100.

Back at Robert, yes, it is still available, here; http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=ac78a596e19168c1651636b7e802cd3e&prevstart=84

Thanks for the link
I had done a search for gas pumps and signs but didn't find it that way

I did that also, trying to find it again, and now, strangely enough, I can't for the life of me figure out how I did find it again!
Rodem has a few nice models there. Here is his 1932 Ford Hot Rod...pretty nice too.

:-)
Heres a really nice 49 Merc Leadsled! Also from the 3D Warehouse.
Very cool!
:-)
And here's the 56 Ford Pickup all dolled up with "New Tires"!
Nice render except for the lighting. It is shining down bright from the right, but the mobile homes in the background are from an overcast day. Plus the shadow under the truck makes the tires look flat, raise the truck up out of the concrete.

Take a closer look at the clouds in the backdrop, it isn't completely overcast, yeah, they didn't get enough air in the tires, gotta take it back to the tire shop she got the tires at!
The tires I put on look so much better than the ones that came on the truck from the warehouse, I feel I will need to do the same to the 49 Merc, however, that one doesn't look nearly as bad as the 56 pickup did, with those oversize balloons someone called tires!
Help me get this sowing machine into the house!
That's the cool thing about modeling cars is you can change out the parts just like in real life.

Yep, I also plan on customizing this particular truck myself, it was all the rage in the early 1970's!
Here's a strange one, a 59 Biscayne 4X4!
leave it to lowriderfreak for the 4x4 classics.

I knew of a 68 El Camino that had been turned into a 4X4, that was way back in the 70's, so I know it really happens.

There used to be one in Austin that had been sorta monsterized

The one I saw was in Lamar, Colorado, it was owned by one of the guys who worked at the Dodge dealer.
Het Betsy...I downloaded the 56 F100 from the warehouse, I exported it as a .3ds file and took it into Poseray to convert it to an .obj file. When I welded the vertises, then recalculated the normals to smooth it, the tailgate dissappeared. Did you have that problem in Blender?
I am going to go back into SU and resave the tailgate as a seperate object, then see what happens to it.
Stay tuned.
:-)
No, I didn't make too many changes to the tailgate, it came out just fine for me, all I did was the normal smoothing operation to smooth all the tries and turned them into quads, the tailgate came out fine.
ok...here is the final product. I went back into sketchup and did some color additions with the interior and bodyworks. The doors are seperate in the original model but if I save them as seperate objects, then smooth them the interior part disappears, so I had to leave them on the body. Same with the hood. The exterior part disappears when I smooth it. The tailgate however I was able to save as a seperate object because, as you said, it really didn't need any smoothing. I saved the tires as seperates also. I put some American mags on it, shaders and then rendered in DS3.
:-)
And it looks pretty decent too, I imagine Blender doesn't do nearly as much damage as Poseray does, as Poseray tends to do everything in one operation.
I remember having the same problem with the Deuce Coupe body, the flat panels that made up the firewall and the floor pans would come out totally messed up if you did any smoothing to them.
Here's a few of the F100 done "Yosimite style".
:-)
Here's something interesting. This is a standard GTA car, one of hundreds, that I used a simple background image, the shadow catcher, uber and one distant light. No scan lines on the render because it is a background only, but I am now getting lines on the cars. It did this with the 56 F100 also, but did not do it with the Yosimite setup as you can see from my above posting.
Hmmmmm......
:)
Looks like you got little cracks or scratches on the camera lens, or fine cat hair all over the lens, I've never had that kind of thing sneak up on me like that, it might have everything to do with the photo being used for the backdrop, or maybe something to do with using only one distant light.
Ok...I used the Yosimite set for this one. Deleted the dome and used the same background. I did not get any lines so it has something to do with the envsphere...AGAIN!
Could be that the evirosphere isn't working then, could it be possible it doesn't work well with DAZ studio?
Here's one with a Mack truck gta download that's been converted, simple Most Digital Creations simple backdrop, one distant light.
