If you have Poser, it has a section that will let you expose the origin with crosshairs, then move it with dials that appear when you activate it. Move them where you want, then you can hide them again and carry on. Once you get through rigging, then you save as a .pp2 (with movable parts), open the .pp2 in a text editor and you can hide any dials that you don't need (zero meaning not showing, one meaning showing), force limits (tires turning, doors opening, etc) resave as a .pp2 and you are good to go. That's how I do it.
:-)Yeah, I don't use Poser. In fact, the only version of Poser I have is Poser Debut. This has to be rigged in Daz Studio unless one of you guys wants to try rigging it.
And here's a new one from N7, very nice from the looks of it!

Ya beat me to it
Yeah, me too. I just got the email about it.
It sure is purdee too!
Ah see "Car Lovers" :-) or
Essex Police trial new uniforms to improve motorists awareness ....snigger.
oh lol TOWIE
I foresee major congestion as well as an accident or three
So, any answers to my previous questions?
Happy with her purchase.
Floating with joy. ;-). I love the background.
Not sure where I found the link (it might have been Area) but some great free tarmac and road surface textures:-
http://xoio-air.de/2012/road-surfaces-volume-1/
and there's a volume 2 as well.
So, John, any suggestion on my previous question from my last update?
Nope, none mate. I don't use Hexagon, have no idea how it works, what it does, or how to do it.
@Betsy
Nice machine that, almost tempting me away from the DIY variety, almost.
@John
Typical eh! You wait for one druid and then...
Nice pic. The lighting is spot on.
I'd probably go with a bump map as its easier and gives more flexibility. A displacement map is fine but cause issues.
Thanks mate. I was quite pleased with it myself.
I'd probably go with a bump map as its easier and gives more flexibility. A displacement map is fine but cause issues.Works for me, if I can figure out how to make a decent one. That means the only thing really left to model (simply because I forgot to) is a kick stand.
If you liked the last one, then there's this!
@betsy
That's something HOT! and I do like it. :-)
Nice work that.
hey guys wanted to show off my latest creation in sketch up. i took a 1970 vista cruiser and turned it into a 4 door el camino for a contest on the warehouse. plz rate as your opinions on this very primitive render are appreciated.
Thanks John Sims for the link for the road textures, they are pretty nice ones at that, I made a simple road in DS using those textures.
Ditto.
Looking at this thread inspired me to gett off my lazy butt and actually contribute to the fora.. Been a Bryce user since the first Windows version, and have started to do renders in Studio.. (I have a few annoying issues, mostly with the mouse losing object focus when adjusting a parameter, but I'll figure that one day)..Picked up the Yosemite packs after seeing what could be done in this thread..
Was looking at the render of the "old BSA" and remembered I had the model as well.. (BTW, it appears to be a decent model of a 1960(1) BSA D1 Bantam.. had one when I was biking way back when in the mid sixties.. 125CC, 3 speed, and slow, but it got you there,,
SO.. forthwith some renders.. - first the Bantam.. Secondly - what do you do when you get a new car, take photos, nah- you render it! and lastly an oldie done a while back..
Thoughts?
Cheers

Considering you've just started on Daz Studio, you're of to a flyer. I've been using DS for just over a year now, I've had earlier versions but not really used them as often as I do now. Nice to see that old bike is out once again, but he better watch out for the on coming traffic as that's a Yosimite road he's on. You could have scaled up the shadow catcher in the second pic and it bit of gloss always makes a car look better. One thing I'm starting to do now, which I wish I'd done a lot earlier is saving out good shader presets. If you've made a nice car paint shader then save it out. 'as shader preset' in the file/save as tab. saves loads of time.
Thanks Mate - will try your suggestions.. never noticed the shadow catcher until you mentioned it.. good catch.. I was having more trouble getting the "spider web" lines off the car, until I read about issues with envirospheres.. good resource, teh forums..
As for the bike? just assume its a UK road in good old Lancashire.. then it works :)
Cheers
HAC (off to redo the Accent render..)
Got this car from DMI. Link to the site is on page 9 of this thread, at the bottom. The cars are low poly, but this seemed to render out OK.
She's afraid someone might steal it but hasn't realized that they could just pick it up and toss it on a flatbed
