Yeah, I don't have Luxus Luxrender. I work in 3Delight only. The main problem is the lenses and reflector surfaces aren't catching or amplifying the "light" and the bulbs aren't really glowing to fill the entire interior of the lights with light, even with the spotlight inside the headlight set to 200%. Like I said, I upped the opacity of the light bulbs and set their ambient settings to 100% white, to simulate a glow (just like the tail lights of the Camaro, but that doesn't really look right when I tried that with the glass surfaces of the lenses, nor the mirrored surfaces of the bike's lights. I know with Uber Environment lights you can make surfaces into light emitting surfaces, though I don't know how to do that, and never use uber environment lighting (I doubt my computer could handle it), but I'm not sure of a way to do that with a transparent glass surface using regular lights.

Totally wrong approach...3Delight lighting bears very little in common with real lights, so making 'reflectors' reflective isn't going to help much. For bloom/rays/haze you need to use volume shaders, volume cameras or do it in post.

Or use area/mesh lights (UberArealight...not UberEnvironment).

And yes, they would still emit light, when transparent.Yeah, I have a volume camera set, though I really don't know how to use it. I'm trying some Uber Area lights now on the bulbs, we'll see how they turn out. I'm not sure if I needed to add them to the lenses too or not.

You can unlock the parameters tab for Ambient and use 400% on the Lens cover with some opacity.
You could also make a half sphere or plane and add a gradient radial filled white to black outer, saved as a PNG and use it in the opacity channel, as I've used it for the engine glow. Looks OK from a distance, you can fiddle with the texture mapping scale to get the desired result.

I had tried bumping the opacity on the headlight lens up, and it looked like crap; not the look I'm going for. One thing Szark mentioned in his Advanced Ambient Lighting Tutorial thread, was to turn off the Multiply Specular through Opacity on the glass so that the reflections in the glass don't become transparent too, and thus, reflect and refract the light better. I'll try that on my next render attempt and see what happens.

I recently put in a submission for a competition run by AutoDesk and Morgan Cars, as below.

Apparently you can vote for my submission on :-

So if any of you kind chappies and chappesses would be kind enough to support a fellow DAZ nut, I would be most obliged.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your comments guys. "Thumbs up" I see what you did there ;-)

I agree regarding additional accounts and certainly wouldn't encourage anyone to open a social media account and definitely not on the strength of this.

The popularity vote will no doubt go to some spotty kid with a million school mates any way. It would be nice not to be too embarrassingly under voted though.

    Spot The Difference :-)

The car on the right was the model supplied by Morgan/Autodesk for the competition as noted above.

As you can see the original model was significantly degraded.

On the left was the model I included in the advert submission.....how many differences can you spot?

I see you fixed the missing tie-rod ends...and put some tyres with tread on the wheels...and about 100 other things, too.

Okay, been working at moving much of my DAZ stuff over to my other computer, I got the wife a new computer, and I ended up with her old one, now I have double the space so to speak! Anyway, I've been working at making clean installs of most of my programs, that isprograms like DS, Blender and the like, for some reason, the DVD burner on her old comp isn't working, so I have no way of installing Poser 7 in the conventional sense, so I simply copied all of the Poser files from one computer on a flash drive, and simply transferred it to my new computer, it actually works!

Spent a large amount of time last night trying to find my 40 Ford Deluxe Coupe, the gta model that is, evidently, it got lost somewhere, it might be on a DVD, with the burner not working on the new computer, I was forced to look at every GTA site on the web before I finally found it again, looks like I won't be able to transfer all the setups I have on the old compute over to the new one very easily, anyway I look at it though, my gaming pc will be free of the DS, and I will have much more room for both my games and my DAZ Studio, here are a few first renders out of the new computer.

Very interesting, I personally would love to see them actually do something like that, bring back the old Morgan 3 wheeler, what a cool car, but everytime they bring something back, they tend to modernize it just a little too much, look what happened to the Mini-Cooper!

Heres a couple more cool pix I couldn't resist doing, I'm actually able to rework some of the sketchup downloads on my new (to me) computer, speaking of sketchup, Sketchup2014 as it turns out is a very nice program, it also comes with the ability to export .obj files, as well as a host of other file extensions, so I can finally let Sketchup8 go the way of the dinosaurs, so right from sketchup to blender, and even the smoothing operation works differently now, I no longer have to use all the applications of Blender to smooth a former sketchup model, its already done when you export the model out of sketchup, makes things much easier, such as Bethany's Willy's Gasser!

I don't think you could accuse Morgan of over modifying anything. The Three Wheeler never went away, I'm not even very sure how the new one is any different. And as for the Morgan 4+4 and +8, aside new engines, I'm not convinced they have changed in 40 years. The certainly look the same and still have a ladder chassis and body panels formed over an Ash frame.

The Areo 8 was something of a departure in that it was built around a bonded aluminium tub. They still managed to screw bits of Ash frame to that but I have no idea why.

As I said on the page - it is all very eccentric.

If it is the same as it used to be, because Morgans are hand built you order one and then sit back and wait for them to build it for you. You don't just walk into the showroom and purchase a new Morgan of the shelf, so to speak.

Well, I've run into a small design flaw on my bike while setting up a new scene with it. The jet boosters are getting in the way of the rider's legs if he's posed with the feet on the ground (as he would be when stopped) instead of on the foot pedals. I have to either move them further out to the sides, slide them back more, or shorten them. to give him some leg clearance.
