Got the new Sketchup Make 2014 you mentioned Betsy. Sadly, it is just an 8 hour demo of the Pro version. Once time runs out, there will be no .obj or .3ds exports. I also didn't notice any change in smoothing with it, I still had to take this into Poseray to smooth it. This 41 Willys is nice but just a skin on frame pieces, the tires have been around for a while, but still I love them...lol. Motor is a chevy corvette in this Ford. Rear window has some real issues with being mixed with the body top, so one side comes up the color of the top. If I could punch the widows out, I could create new ones. Looks like a Bryce boleen thing needed. I had to make a steering colume and a gear shift rod. The shifter knob is there, but it too is zoned with the color of the car's top. Still a nice car for a distant render. Here it is all "shaded" up.
:-)
Following this thread for quiet a while. I would like to share some of my car images with you!
Hey guys long time no see. still dont have access to daz or any other render program but wanted 2 share some of my latest works. i made a 1966 ford mustang fastback by combining a 66 gt350 with a perfect roof and a not so accurate front end with my completely accurate 65 convertible and came up with this.
and heres one i really like how it turned out.
Welcome, Love the pink Porsche! Thanks for shareing these.

Thank you very much for the kind welcome. Pretty sure I can contribute more images in the future.
I like very much whats going on here! Keep up your good work and interessting topics!
So here is the 1958 Chevy Impala Deluxe made in Sketchup 2014. Looks ok with a few color fixes. The hood, trunk and doors open and the wheels turn and rotate.
Pretty
Not! Oh yes there is, in Sketchup 2014, you just simply export a 3D model, and when the window pops up, you select the type of file you wish to export, those addons that were 8 hours trial were simply payware addon, the freeware does export obj's.
Pretty
Just do a search for Lowriderfreak, he usually has a new gta conversion or two about every week.
Here are a few I've been working on, I'm in the process of moving all of my DAZ Studio stuff to a different computer, so am having to re rig everything in Poser, which turned out to be another issue, I wasn't able to do a clean install of Poser7, because this other computer's DVD drive isn't working for some reason, hmm, might have been a casualty of the lightening strike that hit everything last summer, so I simply copied the program files from one computer onto a flash drive, and put the entire folder onto my other computer, works like a charm, didn't even have to worry about loading my serial code, as it was already there, created a shortcut and have been re rigging a little at a time, unfortunately I wasn't able to move the pz2 files successfully, but I still have my parts files that I bring into Poser and work it out from there, was able to reuse many of my material presets though, that saves a lot of time!

Lots of cool renders Betsy! So, you're saying that when the trial period ends, you can still export .obj and .3ds files? All of the previous builds cut off the .obj and .3ds exports when the trial ran out, then you had to pay for them back with the pro version upgrade. If this is so...WAY COOL!
I got a few real nice bikes to work with.
:-)
I've never had the pro version of sketchup, of course when I converted stuff from sketchup 8, I would have to go through the trouble of loading everything in Blender and start the smoothing process, sometimes it was a pain, don't have to do that now, yes, sketchup 2014 allows you to export obj's without the need for a RUBY!
The path is file+export+3d model, when the window opens, it will have the file name space, below that is the format window, it has a dropdown menu, that is where you will find obj, 3ds, collada and skp formats.
That trial period was for 2 other items and formats that are for the professional version of sketchup.
Okay, finally went and downloaded my favorite screenprint software, wow, has that changed since the last time I installed it!
Here are a couple of screenies to show what I mean.
Now mind you, some of the older models don't smooth the same way the newer ones do, and unfortunately, some do!
is that the one that i uploaded?
is that the one that i uploaded?
Nope!
You Paid How Much For This Car?
And it would be worth every penny. I love the thought that big V8s will still be appreciated in the future...even if they couldn't afford the fuel to run it.
It would be sacrilidge to convert a Bullet Mustang to run on a hydrogen fuel cell after all.
Nice lighting by the way.
If you add a very small bump to the surface shader it helps represent the surface of spray paint and diffuses some of the faceting because it gives a slight bloom to the edge of highlights.

That would be somewhat true, unless your intending to race the car, then a hydrogen cell setup could be an asset!
Nope!
ok just wondering cause i uploaded a 64 mustang to the warehouse that looked exactly like that. anyhow nice job on the renders.
One of my images I want to share with you.

Both Llamaghinis are amazing cars for DAZ Studio. As you can see I´m practicing to get one day the perfect shot on the Llamaghinis. ;-)
Very cool pic, love the hood reflection, great job :-)
