I have not such problems in Daz Studio with HDRs items bought here in Daz 3D shop.
All of them works nicely providing both lights and their background images to the resulting render.
You should also get link to the file in an e-mail from itchio after successful purchase.
I don't get them from the HDR's obtained from DAZ and simply used from the content library, so there is something in the way I'm loading them & applying the image that is incomplete. The only HDR that worked with almost no problem was Namtar3d's HDR image in the freebie forum here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/339726/underwater-hdri-freebie . Even then I had to knock the environment setting to 1.00 and change the film iso setting to 50 (from 100) to prevent washout of the colours.

Richard
Here an integration of Daz characters in Flowscape to have right shadows :

My "Mama Creole" (from Toon Generations 2) directly imported in Flowscape :
Thanks to the tip of the creator (-> Flowscape forum) I could avoid the white eyes by adding transparency manually !

Hi 6r.
Could you please share your export settings from Daz Studio to FlowScape, thanks.
Yay, finally succeded to import .OBJ with textures to FlowScape. It is a book from:
https://www.daz3d.com/dms-kapelle
Since I couldn't figure out, how to directly export .OBJ with textures from Daz Studio,
I have exported prop as Collada from Daz Studio, opened such file in Blender and exported from it as .OBJ.
Unfortunately .mtl file contained paths to textures in subfolders, so I have manually removed such paths from the file
and put the textures in the same folder as .obj and .mtl files.
Could not get to work Ansel in Unity. Nvidia has not updated Unity package of Ansel since March 13, 2018.
I have tried instead VR Panorama 360 Pro Renderer in Unity, that also exports in .EXR format.
Used https://www.daz3d.com/bad-birdy-2-0 as a figure.
Below is DS iray render of 4K panorama (64 MB file size in EXR format):
and 8K panorama (256 MB file size in EXR format):
Exporting from DS will also put the textures in a separate Maps folder too, so you would still need to edit the mtl file and move the textures into the same folder as your mtl and obj. Don't use NotePad to open the mtl as it is virtually unreadable. I used Notepad++ and it formats it nicely. Here are the export settings I used from Daz Studio. I am also interested to see if 6r used different settings:
The blank eyes were the result of the cornea and moisture materials sitting on top of the eye, so as 6r said you just need to add "Tr 1" after each to make them transparent:
newmtl Cornea
d 0.995
Kd 1 1 1
Tr 1
I found this mtl specification helpful. I will help where I can, I just haven't played with exporting beyond the first test above so I'm still learning all this too.
Yes. You just have to export your .mtl and .obj files into your Textures folder. Can't be easier.
Then add transparency Tr 1.

A quick test with an open book where I could write the beginning of a story on a page and paint a corresponding landscape on the other page :

Thank you so much. This opens up for me possibility to decorate Daz 3D items in FlowScape. I think, I skip the idea of using 360 degree panoramas from FlowScape
in Daz Studio and concentrate on figuring out all the features of FlowScape.
Here a mote cartoonish style directly in Flowscape playing with lights and atmosphere (No postwork here !) :

Most impressive that you've got the import side sorted quite so effectively.
I am still trying to get exported HDR's into DS as the rendering in DS gives better detail on the figures, but if it's not possible in the end, then using backgrounds will be plenty good enough for my purposes.
If, of course, I can ever get to use it. Since showing the results of some of my FlowScape trials to my kids, they have spent almost every minute I've been at home creating their own landscapes on the only PC with it loaded. (BTW they're 19 & 22, so not real youngsters).
Thanks.
Yes, it's very addictive ! So easy to have wonderful landscapes within a few seconds or minutes.
Another picture with this poor wolf seeing all these "very good" rabbits !!!
(And it's funny to see it alive in Flowscape !)

Did you ever share how you achieved your toon effects 6r? I quite like those!
Ansel has filters
Once we know we can paint on any .obj file :

Great work on all these, @6r!
Thanks a lot.

Gaah. Need to throttle my kids. Couldn't get on the machine at all last night.
Seeing your stuff, 6R, makes me so flippin' impatient to play work at it.
Regards,
Richard
Thanks.
"Play" is the right word. A lot of fun here...

Great ideas and awesome images, 6R.
Thanks a lot.

I got a chance to play this afternoon, and managed to get a figure cooling her feet as an imported OBJ file. Then, taking inspiration from the idea that anything can be a terrain, I thought I'd try using the figure as one.
Quite pleased with the first, and the second is worthy of a chuckle. Both 'rendered' in FlowScape.
Regards,
Richard.
