    So step 1, Load your G8 Character, delete any attchmets, hair/eyelashes/brows/anatomical elements etc. Add any morphs you want included. I use D.Masters Auto Shape Enhancer and Zevos Skin Crease Controller so have included both. (this would also be a good time to set a material preset if you havn't already) Set mesh resolution base resolution and open the figures mouth to 50% (following D.Masters recommendation below) and export as on OBJ using Daz default settings.

    Step 2, Add AFE attachment so it follows the shape of your charcter. Loads of mesh artifacts as the higher res AFE is following the base resolution of G8. Turn off the visiblity of G8, set the resolution of AFE to 0 and export as OBJ, again using Daz default settings. (DO NOT CLOSE HER MOUTH)

    Step 3, In Zbrush import the G8 obj you saved first. Open the 'Geometry tab in the tools menu and click 'Divide' 2 times to get SubD level 3. Open the subdivision tool tab and click copy.

    Step 4, import the AFE OBJ.

    Step 5, In the subtool tab click paste. The G8 mesh should be visible in the layer below the AFE mesh.

    Step 6, Scroll down the Subtool tab and open the 'Project' tool. I used the settings in the video, not sure if they are the best, but the worked ok enough for me, Click 'ProjectAll'

    Step 7, In the subtool tab, turn off the visibility of the G8 subtool and inspect the resulting AFE Mesh. If you encounter any issues with the ears or eye sockets defroming, CTRL-Z and adjust the Project settings by making SMALL adjustments to the Distance/Mean/PABlur sliders until you are happy.

    Step 8, Export AFE mesh as OBJ.

    Step 9, Back in DAZ, select AFE, Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro. Select the AFE mesh you've just exportd from ZBrush. In the advanced options set Reverse Deformations to 'Yes' and Accept.

    Step 10, In the properties tab, select Morphs and dial the morph in to see how it works.

    Step 11, (optional) Click the properties gear icon and open the Parameter Settings tab. Set the minimum limit to zero, change the morph location. I used Actor>People.

    Step 12, File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Assets. Expand the selction tree until you find your new morph, and tick the check box to save the morph to AFE so you can dial it in manually whenever needed.

    Step 13, Add meterials and enjoy.

    Thank you, Mart. That's about how I do it. Update to above.

    1.export AFE + G8 out at base level. Do have the mouth open and eye closed at 50 percent. (Hold this pose in Daz3d, save it, because you will need to bring AFE back at this same pose)

    2. In ZBrush add sub_d to G8 div by 2 to 3 times.

    3. Import AFE and add the projection on the AFE. Doing it this way helps the inner mouth from messing up and move away from the base shape.

    Note: see image for import and export object out. remember to hide G8 or AFE mesh on export. else you have 2 objects. Not a good idea to separate them in the 3D App.

    Thanks for the work on this, but the recent release results in error messages for any G8F character loaded on my system. It seems to be related to missing data files and/or wrong path and file names for the data references. Am i the only one with this problem (I sometimes move files in the content directories) or is it a known issue?

    Yes. Save the scene and when you reload the error won't occur.

    @metaside Yes me too! I didn't know why it suddenly took so long for Gen 8 figures to load. I took a look at the log and tried reinstalling (didn't work) then just deleted for now. I also tried (before uninstalling) creating a new scene with a gen8 female-no dice. Then tried with a scene that had a gen8 character already- didn't work even after closing and reloading. Hopefully it gets fixed soon as I like how expressive the characters are with it :)

    Yes. working on a custom character that will have a realistic skin texture. I will also be baking the detail out for 2d HD textures. Due to the limitation of Sub-D I can only work with Div4.

    The high detail needs to be in Div6-8. Daz will crash at around Div-5 with AFE.  A final workaround is to have Daz at Div-3 and 2d HD Textures working with the 3d Details. We'll see how this will go.

    Div6-8 Also crashes when rendering in Iray as you need a ton of Video memory the higher you go

    Love it!  I was worried because of people having issues but I have had no issues so far.  Played with it for awhile to get used to it.  Here is Babina 8 with some custom morphs applies and AFE.

    This is my top favorite product in the store right now, I like how the eyes change shape when looking around. It's much more natural now.

    However, there is a bug when turning on HD details for Kala 8. It makes her all wrinkly: (gif)

    Any idea why this is happening? I disabled AFE bump, morph, and powerpose controllers and even uninstalled the smoother from your dropbox.

    Thanks @Leonides02 and @sunnyjei! I think there will be an update soonish, another product that made problems a while ago was updated with a fix pretty fast IIRC.

    When render far away turn off AFE.

    When you need the Facial close UP using Skin Detail then turn on AFE.

    The most issue is because DIM 1st came out installed not the updated file but the Old files. The new DIM now install the new file.

    So if you install the new DIM and uninstall now, You will only uninstall the NEW DIM and not the OLD DIM. The Old files still in the Directory.

    You have to remove: under your Daz3d Library

    data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\D.Master\Auto Face Enhancer Female

    \data\D.Master\Autoface Enhancer

    \data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\D.Master\Auto Face Enhancer Female

    \People\Genesis 8 Female\Shapes\Auto Face Enhancer

    That is why I use this product the Skin Detail and baking the custom Texture to 8K or 4K for the faces. In the past, it takes me 2 to 3 days to do the skin details in ZBrush. Now in 2h, I can start with a 3D Base skin on many characters and make little modification in ZBRUSH to get that custom HD SKin and Details. The way to go is to have Sub-D 2 level with detail Normal+Bump at 8K.

    That did not fix the problem for me. I deleted everything as described and reinstalled both DIM and the dropbox archive and still all G8F characters give error messages on initial load. Please fix this with an updated installer.

    Option 1.

    open file let say X. error mess.Now just save it again as X2.

    close daz3d

    open X2 again. if error. do option 2

     

    Option 2

    1-Remove everything. so no more AFE on the system. do the manual del of the folders.

    2-Load G8F. if error. Just save it as G8F_2

    3-close Daz3d and open Daz3d again.

    4-Load G8F_2. if error. It is not AFE. Daz error is because you missing something or it is loading something 2x.

    Do you mean that Kala HD morphs are enabled automatically when I use AFE? They are clearly not enabled when I turn on AFE. Here is a comparison between AFE and HD morphs. (gif)

    You can see, especially, that the lips are much more well defined with the HD morphs on.

    For each character you should set up the Master expression controller to limit his/her expression. Then go to power pose to add on top of that character expression. Remember to create a folder and save your custom character expressions. Now no one else has it but you.

    Thanks! I will keep that in mind. I did figure out how to save it. I had to look through the whole thread, so might be something to add to the pdf if you get a chance. Pretty straight forward I know but I wanted to make sure I did it right before I exited. Also I got to playing and had created the expression before I applied any materials. Then realized my mistake when I read the pdf. I know it's been said many times before but AWESOME product!

    So my project with some 2000+ scenes must all be reloaded one at a time and resaved? WTH? I Rely heavily on batch processing and automation, I'll have to write a new script to either open each and resave or go in and parse out each reference. I already wasted all last night trying to get this corrected. I am looking for original morph set and just downgrade to it, which would be the easiest thing to do.

    This is normal. These are morph files that only load if you have the character. These morphs help smooth out the AFE.

    Hi Charles.

    If I were you. I would keep 2000+ scenes. If it is working keep it and let it go on. 

    Are you saying a 2000+ frame of the same file? if 2000+ scene then that is way too much work.

    let me know if you need the old AFE. send me a private message and give me a dropbox to get it to you. 

    Note: The AFE old and the AFE new is much the same. I have updated the geometry to the AFE to capture HD SKIN Details.

    Thus the morphs on the geometry are different. It is a new set.

    Hi @DMaster didn't realize you were the creator at first (thought you were just a helpful member :) ) first thanks for creating this and making it rather easy to get some interesting expressions even for a newbie like me. So if I am understanding you correctly AFE has been updated? I have been installing everything thru Daz Studio (not DIM). I uninstalled it thru that as well. So can I reinstall it that way and it will work now or do I need to locate all/the AFE file(s) and delete it/them manually and reinstall manually?

    Daz Install is OK - it is DIM inside DAZ3D. It missing the smoother for AFE HD Expression. Download here and do the manual install.

    If you do a manual install.

    1-Uninstall all old AFE and create a new daz3d directory like (Auto Face Enhancerand) and put All AFE here.

    2-Add the new directory to Daz3d - remember to close DAZ and open it again. Now you can start testing AFE.  Any issue you can just remove the dir. If good then move all files over to the main dir and remove the Auto Face Enhancer dir - (remember you have to be in the dir to access the Mesh and the setting) 

     Daz has not yet updated the HD Expression. Till then, here is the missing smoother for AFE HD Expression. Please put it in the Daz3d Library where you put AFE.  this may be the (Auto Face Enhancer) if you created the one to test.
