What Facebook coupon?
I filled up a cart to rebuy Leroy and freebies but dumped it again since I don't really need to spend $42 on scraping the freebie section for things that aren't even in my wishlist.
I have my theories. First, I don't think any of the marketing we're seeing has anything to do with G9. At least, not directly. Daz is investing a lot of developers' time in updates to Daz Studio. With dForce (cloth) and later dForce Hair, they were able to release the updates and capitalize on the new features. Same with Iray years before. Right now, they are improving DS's capabilities with animation. I would expect to see an effort to capitalize on that once 4.12.1 is released.
In the meantime, they need working capital to pay those developers, and putting assets they already own outright on sale with deep discounts will increase sales and provide that capital.
Second, when G8 came out, there was a very vocal group of people on the forums who made it clear they weren't interested in moving to G8 and rebuying the same figures, morphs, and utlitilies for a new generation. Some went so far as to call G8 "Genesis 3.5". Prior to G8, I don't recall any named figure release that came with massive incentives, like free pro bundles or categories of content with $100 or more free. I suspect the incentives, along with a much more diverse, and older, group of figures is a result of long time customers not willing to buy into the new generation; Or new iterations of older iconic figures.
I've seen what I think is a trend toward smaller incentives, an attempt on Daz's part, perhaps, to wean us off the idea that we should get Pro bundles for under $40, along with $200-$300 worth of older products for free. (A good business move on Daz's part, if I'm right.)
I believe two things need to happen before G9 is released. One, G9 has to be an obvious improvement to G8, preferably with a decent bit of compatiblity with G3/G8 clothing and hair assets. Two, Daz has to reduce or eliminate purchase incentives on the bundles. Considering they trained us to expect said incentives, it won't be an easy task. But if G9 can't bring in the sales on it's own merits, no incentives needed, then it isn't ready to be released anyway, imo.
And to answer your last question, G8/V8 were released in June, 2017.
Aren't the funny though. I've so surprise that a 4 ounce bird will attack me!
Can you expand on the 2nd part of your post? DAZ is giving us deeper discounts recently, how is this an trend towards smaller incentives?
Almost everything we looked at has a double meaning somewhere, or slang. But your link went to "couldn't find anything" basically.
Sorry, we couldn't find: Poof

here are no definitions for this word.

Regarding other matters- Is the entire internet slow for you folks?
Back when Genesis 8 was first released in June 2017, I had quite a few orders ranging from 60 to 70 percent, and a few at 75%. Nothing like what they're doing now.
I sent you a message!
Scroll down that page of words and click on poof and it opens the definition.
If you disregard Dain 8 and Leroy 8, and skim through the sales thread for the last several female releases, you'll see comments from people who are complaining the deals aren't as good as they used to be. I haven't been doing screencaps of the all various offers, so I can't be specific about one sale or another, but the incentives have gone from X number of pro bundles to $X of free content from this page, to $X/4 of free content from these four categories… Where X continues to get smaller.
I was able to find a screencap of the Elios 8 onsite message, which stated, "Get $70 of Select Daz Original Items FREE when you buy the Elios 8 Pro Bundle. *Elios 8 Pro Bundle must be in cart simultaneously for discount to apply. $70 discount replaces the standard $40 discount."
I found two screencaps for Leisa 8, which I've attached, released during the PC Anniversary sale. I don't see any free products with these screencaps only addtional discounts on Leisa and Addons, along with discounts on the PC+/Day Catch-Up Sale Items. Those are items which were offered for a day at $1.99, and later in catch-up sales at $2.99. Except during the Leisa 8 promo, they were offered for $5 and then discounted to $2.49 if you bought the pro bundle in the same cart. The onsite message was for an additional 20% off the pro bundle, (didn't include the Addons,) and a code for a discount on Gift Cards.
I consider Dain 8 an exception. The offers surrounding Dain 8 kept a lot of customers from returning the Pro Bundle, myself included. Had Dain 8's incentives been as weak as many of the previous offers, I'd have returned the bundle the same day I bought it. When Leroy 8 came out one week later with the exact same incentives, I figured it was Daz's way of saying "sorry" for the Dain 8 bundled products. And in the sales thread you can find people voicing their disappointment that Leroy 8 got none of the additional offers that Dain 8 did.
There might be a new figure release next week. It will be interesting to see what incentives are on offer.
I looked on facebook and didn't see a coupon. Mind sharing?
The link in the original message is bad. It has that space semicolon at the end (turns into %C2%A0 in the URL). Delete %C2%A0 from the URL and the link will work.
Regarding sales incentives, I always get the feeling that Daz marketing is working against a monthly cash flow target. I didn't buy much in January because I didn't find the new releases and the pricing all that attractive. Lo and behold, around the 28th there were especially good offers on items and I finally made purchases. I've seen that in other months near their end as well. Of course, it's only mid-February, so it may just be their normal marketing.
Well, it looks like I should have specified I was only talking about the incentives to purchase the Pro Bundles when they are released.
Like you, @RGcincy, I also think Daz looks at the sales numbers to decide if they need to roll out the higher discounts. I've long thought we see Flash sales and Blink sales on days Daz comes into the office, and the sales so far that day didn't meet their expectations.
I couldn't find one either. Any chance I can get it? Thanks
https://www.facebook.com/DAZ3D.FanPage/posts/10157871948440540 It stacks with other discounts...
Thanks, it does stack in my cart.
oh wooooooooooooooow thank you!
AFE - Real Female HD Expressions for Genesis 8 Female(s)new
$5.14 78%
Auto Face Enhancer HD With PowerPose for Genesis 8 Female(s)
$34.95 $8.95 74%
Bluntly, I don't like the bundle with these two and that face enhancer HD Details- the HD details just give it a acne-scarred face look in the promos. This one:
https://www.daz3d.com/auto-face-enhancer-skin-hd-details-for-genesis-8-females
Note you get the exact same price buying individually as you do in the bundle so there's no benefit to getting the bundle. The prices above are with the stacking 20% from FB. Thanks for sharing that! (And participating on my thread. )
https://www.daz3d.com/auto-face-enhancer-genesis-8-female-s-bundle No benefits to getting the bundle, if you don't love all three products, just get what you want.
If you shop that making faces sale, with the extra 20% FB discount and 20% PC+ discount, if you get two of those new releases you get another 15% the new releases (not the stores). Here's my two experiments. That library for 62% off as a new release is a good deal! Edit- and the stores with that sale start at 50% up. SEE CART SEVERAL POSTS BELOW. Great deals!

A word of caution to anyone else using it: It works well but is single use so shop wisely.
That FB code works on gift cards. Don't forget to scoop one up for 20% off and not have to buy anything!
Here's some sample prices for you- that's with the PC+ and FB discounts, buying two from the Face sale as mentioned above to get 15% off the new releases, and shopping from the Faces stores.

I did a super high-res render today of a DAZ Originals and they have a similar problem and if it's a male there is hair to compound it. So I image search Car 54 TV show and look at some really old pictures and even in those days there was quite a bt of skin roughness but something still wasn't right in the DAZ Orginals skin I was seeing at very high res in a render but I wasn't sure what. Then I thought that there is a layer of oil on people's skin that levels off the rough porous surface and diffuses light through it but the way iRay skin is modeled in DAZ it doesn't reflect that behavior. DAZ skin is it's either super smooth photo airbrushed skin or excessively detailed lemon peel skin.
I have 3 of the 6 individual products you are talking about and will buy the G8M Expressions for AFE next. I'm using them fine without the face HD skin details.
The skin details for both I will buy, eventually, some day, when they are on sale but only occasionally use. They are really good for what they are but I'm not a fan of the orange peel look without the oil layer to go with it.
+++++ And thanks for that congratulations on the Toon Category of the IRM contest.
? about those AFE products: The Face HD skin details product for G8m (& the one for G8F) state that the AFE product is required. I'd like to use the Face HD Details but am not interested at all in the AFE base product itself. Is it actually possible to own/USE ONLY the Face Details product? Are these simply custom normals or displacement maps, or LIEs, or morphs or what?

Thank you SO much for the coupon.... Combined with the Leroy promo (and who knows what else), my order was: 95 items with a "base price" of $2017.35" and a "cart price" of $117.33. Overall, 94% in savings!!! WooHoo!!!
Well it you use the details without the expressions it's going to be as Novica says - it'll look like an acne scarred face or an old weather beaten face of someone that make lots of expressions in their lives.
That said, you can do it and if that's the look you are going for it'll look great.
