Was there a discussion of Ron's Cables & Hoses being missing from DIM?  I typed in Ron's, Rons, cables, cables & hoses, cables and hoses. Nothing. It's still in the store, but not in DIM. DIM is one of the methods to download it.

http://trackthetropics.com/hurricane-season/   Track The Tropics is a site I found recently, it shows the path of the disturbance by about Friday. Folks in western Texas / Texas may have a tropical whatever by then. Hey, we have TS for Tropical Storms, TD for Tropical Depressions, and TW for Tropical Whatevers. Anyway, thought I would give you Texans a heads up.  You may want to start at the main page.

    Thanks Novica!

I have that product. Like most products on this machine, (The Beast is still at rest,) it isn't installed, so I've hidden it. I typed cables into the filter, then clicked on the Display Hidden option on both the Ready to Download and Ready to Install tabs. It then showed up on the Ready to Install tab.

Of course, I've already downloaded it, so there is a Manifest file for it.

I recommend ticking both of those options just in case, (with cables still in the filter field.) If you still don't see it, verify that Photoshop is enabled in the Filter list in Settings > Downloads.

If the product still doesn't show up, it's probaby time to contact Customer Service..

By the way the recent Alexei for G8M skin material set has a problem with the materials for the mouth as you can see on the Jonathan HD for Ollie 8 I used here in this render test.

Sorry to bump an older post, but I just ran across it and thought this might be a little helpful, since your post was helpful to me in finding that there was a problem. (Amazing what you miss when you don't have a character smile widely.)

What I wound up doing was comparing Alexei's mouth settings with Dain's settings, since he's the only major character that's anywhere near as fair as Alexei. What it looks like is that there are three settings that are the principal contributors to the rosy glow:

    1) Base Color Effect - Dain's was set to Scatter Only, Alexei's to Scatter and Transmit. (Honestly, I'd have thought Scatter and Transmit was correct, since mouths are fairly translucent, but apparently not. I think the mesh may not be thick enough for that to work, since structurally it has a chamber between the inside and outside of the mouth, and then the mouth itself is all sorts of hollow, and none of that is how a real human mouth is organized.

    2) Translucency color - Dain's is a very dark brown, while Alexei's is white. In theory, that should work -- there's a color map in that slot, and it should simply transmit the color map information when the color is white. Again, I don't know why it doesn't work, but it doesn't. I set Alexei's to pink at first, then made it a LOT darker; that was the only way to get rid of the glow completely. (This one was the last step I took since it seemed so counterintuitive.) I think you can make it a bit lighter than I did and have it still be realistic; what the PA was trying to get at is that with a person, depending on angle, you can see into their mouth, and you can see color -- it's a bit strange if you're looking straight at them and only see inky blackness -- but that's due at least as much to wetness and reflection as anything else. It's really hard to get to that level of reflectivity with the inside of a Genesis 8 mouth without it looking kind of strange, so they aimed for translucency instead.

    3) Thin Walled - Dain's default is ON; Alexei's default is OFF. I'm guessing that's interacting with the fact that Genesis 8 has more thin walls in their mouth than a person does.

To be sure, I basically set almost all of his mouth settings to match Dain's, but those three were the ones that had the most visible effect. I wound up leaving his teeth alone; they didn't seem to have anything to do with it.

    Alexei's Default Mouth Settings:

Thanks for the fix. I wish the PAs would get in the habit of making their 3D humans on the noon sun on the equator on Jun 21 as that is closest to the lighting that most humans see most of the time. And then when they do their renders for their product ads their at least from front, side, and back renders of their new character in that lighting instead of the contrived Portrait Studio Lighting that looks like unnatural flood lights to most of us and that 99.9% of the human population has no experience visually in real life seeing or in setting up either. If they did that they'd get their skin, eye, and hair materials correct for all lighting situations and we customers would be very appreciative!

I had to go to studio 4.12 when I lost the 4.11 on the external drive, and Photoshop wasn't checked. :)  I already had the hidden checked, so that's what made me concerned. Thanks for the poke, you were right- it was Photoshop! :)  Thought I had that checked, but stupid me, it didn't even dawn on me that was a Photoshop product. I'm just trying to zip through pages (over 540) in Product Library and in a rush. I have to be, frankly. I don't know what's going to happen when they do the new software for the store. Assume nothing, but prepare for glitches.

    Glad to be of service.

Honestly, looking at his promos, I suspect the PA did the same thing I did at first -- with a small difference. They developed his mouth settings in whatever lighting they used -- possibly strong and directed into his mouth, I'm guessing -- and they looked fine ... and then they never opened his mouth again. All of his promo images show him with his mouth closed. I wouldn't have looked at him with an open mouth at this point if I hadn't seen Novica's post.

I'm glad that's all it was, and a fast, easy fix! I keep two copies of all my downloads, one on this computer, and another on The Beast. That should insulate me for the most part from the change to new software.

Remember when the site actually went down for several days a few years ago? I don't remember why though. I was fine because I had ALL my products downloaded- and ever since that happened I download immediately or at least within a couple days. They're saying we won't see a difference in the layout, or at least that's what I read a day or two ago. It's behind the scenes stuff to address glitches.

Possibly some sort of super shiny stone backsplash? Maybe?

It looks like it has a door, aka it's a different black, more matte- but no way to get in to it. I'm looking at the other promo images and can't figure it out.

Looking at all the promos it looks like a slate splashback with a recess behind the the hob. Like you @Novika I thought it was cupboards. If it is slate then that would be some amount of weight.

There is a gas cooktop on the counter, it might be some sort of modern exhaust fan builti vertically into the wall.

I've had another bit of good luck in that I was given a PNY nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super with 4GB GDDR6 RAM GPU. It has over 1200 cudas but doesn't do RTX. Hey, for free I'm not complaining, I very happy. It's dual slot and my MSI Radeon RX 570 8GB is also dual slot for even though my motherboard can handle 2 PCIe x16 GPUs my mini ATX Tower won't handle 2 dual slot GPUs but I've lucked out in that the nVidia card has one on the dual slots as empty, it's just an grid over the exhaust of the GPU fan so I should be able to remove the backplat and both cards will fit.

My desktop is starting to get to be somewhat beefy and flexible in capabilities and available APIs for a programmer to explore. I'm quite happy about it.

I think's it's an oven of some sort but I've never seen one with a door like that. There are lots of things I'm not sure of in that apartment because of the camera perspectives.

@nonesuch00   Yep, I thought the promos were....different. I THINK I like the beginning of the stairs, not sure. At least they have railings. I hate those that don't as it's too impractical. Would they even pass inspection due to safety code violations?  Anyway, the product has an overall unique feel.

Isn't that just the door (and a part of the fridge) reflecting in the shiny (glass or polished stone) surface?

Lucky I guess, as it was given to me by a business that doesn't want it. 1st bit of tech I was ever given were a $25,000+ DEC Ultrix workstation and a $25,0000+ Sun Solaris SPARC workstation on the same day. LOL, of course that's the bank's price that bought them; I couldn't of given those workstations away if I wanted too after I accepted them.

Sylvan new product is out!       Cosmetics and Poses - Nails

I beta tested it and it is packed with great assets. A complete nail solution. All liquids have full/empty morphs, a fallen over nail polish bottle, poses for each asset and dirty or chipped nails as well as chipped polish. For example the hand cream opens up and you can see the cream coming out!

Edit- refreshed DIM again and the install hidden was there. Something wonky going on, the entire slider was showing about three inches long so I figured something was wrong with the display. Thank goodness. So ignore me, just a weird screen thing going on.

Playing around with the Old Station and old Railway Line I noticed something that should have been picked up before publishing. It looks to me like a UK station and line and yet the signals and signs are on the wrong sides :) Standing on the platform with your left side towards the line and looking along it then the train will be coming towards you which means the signalling and signs for that train should be on the same side facing it so the driver can see it. If it is in fact a US of A station then they are obviously correct. :) I'll have to go and change all the signs and signals and re-render the images :)

    Details

Based on a typical English Rural Railway station complete with 2 platforms, foot bridge and station building (with partial interior).

Carefully detailed with authentic design, colour schemes and signage. The Old station can either be loaded in to The Old Railway for a perfect fit or used as standalone set.

Well, Gonzalo broke Gert's record as the earliest G storm in a hurricane season. It's expected to become a hurricane by Thursday. Go to tropicaltidbits.com for the really good video explanation, and Levi will do one tonight again in all likelihood. He does them nightly once a storm gets named. The trackthetropics.com that I told you about has the spaghetti models (LOL from Levi's site, but easier to find) and the darned thing will head west and into the Gulf if it doesn't fall apart. The storm "significantly organized" since the 5am post. Models are saying it will fall apart and models were saying it would strengthen- the National Hurricane Center, after seeing the storm get its act together, is going with the latter for the moment. They do show it weakening though on Sunday, so I'm interested to see what Levi (tropicaltidbits) will say tonight.

@fishtales lovely render, whether it's right or wrong :)

Thank you. That's where I got the train and carriage, or was it Rendo:) I have some others marked for the future.

It was Rendo I got them from.
