@ Novica Are you watching that new Tropical Storm Gonzalo? It looks like it will become a hurricane but not sure where it will go when it gets to the US. Could go into the Gulf or maybe curve back and come up my way

Good set & render. Reminds me of Thomas & Friends which I've always liked.

Playing around with the Old Station and old Railway Line I noticed something that should have been picked up before publishing. It looks to me like a UK station and line and yet the signals and signs are on the wrong sides :) Standing on the platform with your left side towards the line and looking along it then the train will be coming towards you which means the signalling and signs for that train should be on the same side facing it so the driver can see it. If it is in fact a US of A station then they are obviously correct. :) I'll have to go and change all the signs and signals and re-render the images :)

From The Old Railway Station product page

    Details

Based on a typical English Rural Railway station complete with 2 platforms, foot bridge and station building (with partial interior).

Carefully detailed with authentic design, colour schemes and signage. The Old station can either be loaded in to The Old Railway for a perfect fit or used as standalone set.

    Nice render

The street signs were on the wrong side too :)

Just an FYI if you don't already know but DryJack has some free train-related items at ShareCG you might be interested in

Thank you. That's where I got the train and carriage, or was it Rendo:) I have some others marked for the future.

It was Rendo I got them from.

Yeah I've got some marked there as well

Trackthetropics shows it going west then northwest, Texas/Louisiana again (after this first wave goes there.)  It shows the spaghetti models  yes  It may even weaken to a low wave after becoming a hurricane, perhaps even before it hits the coast. So western Gulf coast is the hit zone for these upcoming storms.

    Great images @Fishtales.

Is there an option to hide the yellow line on the platform (the stand behind the yellow line for fast trains thing), as that would be good for period settings?

Yuck. Have you visited the forums page? They're promoting the other programs at the top now, due to working on all those bridges. That "new software" thread in Commons also pointed out all the bridges being listed on one of the products. But the forums page is really, really pushing software and 3rd party software. Here's a before and after for the "General" forum page. I happened to have a window open, thank goodness.

That is rather in your face, yes...

But, what is the point of a bridge that only transfers G3 and G8 characters/hair/clothing, but not props or older characters or animals?

It's free, so I'll give it a spin, but I will probably stick with TeleBlender and Diffeomorphic.

    Nothing that I can see.

@illumination  Are the walls of the Deepstone Hideout separate?  It just lists the structure. Second, I assume that fire is included in the night setting?

I like it myself. They are encouraging 3rd party software developers to develop plugins for DAZ 3D. It could bring really good results for our library of content later at best and just a bit of getting used to new forum layout at worse.

    @Fishtales,

I have been enjoying your train renders. They remind me of many enjoyable rides from Ipswich to London and back from 1986 to 1990 with my son. And one very long wait for three hours on my birthday for something we never found out. But we went finally were able to walk around Kew Gardens and have tea later. A wonderful time. My son loved the train rides.

We used to drive from Indianapolis to Louisville, KY to the train station, then get a train from there down to Florida. I remember the clickety-clack sound putting us to sleep as it was a long journey, we always started our trip mid-afternoon as there was no air conditioning. Starting the trip mid-afternoon, we traveled mostly at night so it was cooler.

The windows were the kind with those aluminum squeezy gadgets to lower the window, one on each side of the pane. I remember aluminum running across the top of the window glass so when you lowered it the glass was protected along the top rim. Funny the things kids remember. I always looked behind and in front of us to see every person's height of their window, just by looking at the aluminum bars.

The seats were an industrial dark green vinyl, no cracks, good shape. Not hard, not soft, seats did not recline and we were on the train all night. We'd take turns laying down and stretching out across each others' laps. (me and my sister. Mom slept upright and we used her lap too LOL)  The seats were decently wide, unlike today's airplane seats which are small and crammed together. I was very sad when that train route was discontinued for passengers years and years later.

I've never been on a train in the US except old out of date trains used as tourist for short local trips. The trains your family was on sound like a school bus on train tracks.

Well all these trains caused me to go buy the "Abandoned Train Station" It's sort of like Penn Station, Grand Central, Gare Du Nord and other big relatively modern urban train stations. I hope I can replace textures on it easy enough to make it look functioning.

I don't see separate walls in the ReadMe, but flame is listed.

Did anyone buy Branca, by ElaineCK?  I just bought her and don't see a figure file for her.  I'm wondering if it was not included in her download.  If someone bought her could you please check and see if it was included in your download file?  Also, I'm wondering if anyone might post some renders of her.

    Thank you!

I don't own it, but the readme says a file shold be in “People:Genesis 8 Female:Characters:Branca”.

Oooh, Maclean just mentioned you can HIDE FORUMS. There's a cog by each one, Hide is an option. I just hid all those bridges so now my forum page is back to normal. But question, how do you find them again? I accidentally hid the Daz Discussion or whatever it is.

Okay, I found it. If you go to the MAIN cog over to the right, IN THE BLUE BAR you can select that cog and where it says Viewing at the bottom, choose Main Categories. They all return.  Then for them to stay, click each one's cog and select Unhide.

Edit: I put it on the first page in References, it's in Tips: Hiding Forums  so if you ever want to do it or get pages back, you can just look up the reference.

You'll notice the  Want this look? section for the renders. Whenever I remember, I'll jot down the lighting used and special settings so you can easily get a good starting point (or ending point, if you like the lighting LOL) for your renders. Wish I had done this for the other renders I posted, I've lost all the renders and it would've been handy to have all those settings. If you post products and can remember to note the lights and want to share, feel free- but it is not a requirement.

    Hope this is helpful :)
