Looks like an interesting story that goes with this entry. You have plenty of freebies. Nice to see you used a different girl (V2-V6) for each and found freebies for them. Looks good.
ENTRY ACCEPTED
:-)
It's (loosely) based on an exchange from Act V of Measure for Measure, and was a great excuse to line up every edition of Ms. V in a single render. Glad you like it.
Hey, guys. A whole bunch of nice entries running around this month! :)
The gallery has been updated, enjoy!

Hi, DanaTA! ^_^
I hope your schooling is going well!
Dana
Hey, Alexa! Thanks for helping with the gallery.
Hope you're doing well...?
Best laugh I had all day! Shane MacGowan's drunken slurs defined the Pogues' sound just like Wendy O. Williams' screeching vocals and other antics defined the Plasmatics. The pixelation seems totally appropriate. Your render could be a newsreel photo. "And in other news, Shane MacGowan of the Pogues shows us what he thinks of the mainstream media!"
Interesting the way they integrated Irish traditional music into punk. The Scottish band Big Country did as much, making guitars sound like bagpipes. Big Country had the misfortune to arrive in the US about the same time as U2, another great Irish band. I liked Big Country for their unique sound. Doing anything to evoke the sound of bagpipes was probably not well liked in the US, tho...
Thanks. I glad you got a laugh from it. I never got into punk music, ran across the Pogues when listening to a saw-called Irish music station on Slacker Radio. Wow, I thought, this is what Irish music should sound like. (Guess I'm a bit warped.) I haven't heard Big Country, will try to find something on YouTube. I kind of like bagpipes sometimes...

I'd prefer something a bit less frenetic...

I've been well! :-) I've been accepted into a college-- which happened a lot faster than I expected. I'm going in for a Computer Graphics major.
I got a lot of positive reinforcement from participating in this challenge, and it gave me a lot of motivation to improve! If it weren't for my friends in this challenge, I wouldn't have pursued this area quite as enthusiastically.
Hopefully, I'll find time to post an image into the Punk challenge later. :)

Simple, uncluttered, yet strong! Nice job!
What is the little ghost-like thing supposed to be? I'm not familiar with the Japanese Punk culture at all.

Oh, thanks ... I forgot to put it on my freebie list!
It is a teru teru bozu.
It is a very traditional thing.
It is a magic amulet that is suppose to bring good weather.
We usually see them in the rainy season ... which just finished.
So I wanted to put Punk Girl against something old and traditional.
I think Punk Girl wins!

Here's Big Country live, and they do make guitars sound like bagpipes.

Not sure what it means, but this is the kinda stuff folks stand and look at for hours at a gallery...lol. Nice entry.

If some of you like bagpipes, you should listen to Horslips band from Scotland. Bagpipe rock!
:-)
Good Band Music, but umm............ just one little thing, they come from Dublin, which was in Ireland when my son moved over there. :coolsmirk:
The piper in the band plays the uilleann pipes rather than the Scottish bagpipes
this shows the difference in the two sorts of pipes and the difference in the sound

I think they sometimes call that an elbow bag, no? I was in Lake George a couple of years ago visiting my niece and her family and we were walking around the downtown area and there was a trio playing on the street and one of them had that. I talked with him later and he told me what it was.

Yes they actually have a sort of bellows strapped to them that they operate with the arm and the elbow, as you say.

Thanks Cho...I wasn't sure about that...lol. I used to listen to them in the mid 70s. Had a few of their albums.

I am quite a fan of what my elder son used to call "Twiddly Diddly" music, in all it's variants. I have quite a few CDs of Afro Celt Sound System as well, who fuse electro with traditional Irish and West African music.
I'm somewhat surprised nobody's yet mentioned the Dropkick Murphys, a Bostonian-Irish punk band with a fair stateside following. There's also the Rumjacks from Sydney (I think), who mostly seem to do punk covers of Clancey Bros., Dubliners, and Wolfe Tones ballads.
I may do an entry from the Murphys' song Rose Tattoo if I find the time. Although Going Out in Style is also solid.
Y'know, I've been so busy preparing to host next month's Challenge that I haven't had time to enter this month's Challenge yet. I must do something about that.
In the mean time, somebody toss me a pie...
Your wish is my command
I just heard the news I never wanted to hear...
This is not the place to find out whether the forum has a profanity filter, but I do so want to swear - to keep from crying.
I'll cover the HM GCs for this month and August.
EDIT: chohole tells me that this month is already covered. I've still got August.
Feels awkward to post this in this moment...
Here it is my first render for this contest:

Hope you like it.
No need to feel awkward at all, Vivayo. Not only is that a great image, but Jade was ALWAYS freaking out when the entries stopped coming in. I loved the way he chastised us for not being interested in taking his money.
Well done! Punk superheroes, not something I'd have thought of!
