FYI I knew I had done some Khory poses, these were the Poised set. Did it back in June.

Yes, the site seems overwhelming. I want to shop and leave. I really do adore the "what I've already bought" feature though. :) Particularly during the sales, like the .99 one. I could zip right in and see if I wanted anything on the page. And I love that the wishlist has the DAZ symbol so we can quickly identify those. One thing I did ask about in another thread was why Alchemy Chasm was offered for .99 when it is already included with the Studio for free.

EDIT: Someone answered- the Alchemy Chasm is .duf only.

If you haven't checked it out, and Novica probably has him already, but Jagger for M4 is on sale right now in the M4/V4 Sale and the character has some nice-looking lights. If you are PC plus the character is steeply discounted He has a nice set of mats too.

Geez, I am messing up on the new site already. I didn't think to click on the Platinum Club in the banner and SereneNight just mentioned to me that the M4 V4 sale has changed. Here it is, in case you didn't know either. (I'm probably the only doofus who forgets to keep clicking on that banner. How I can, is beyond me. It's so BIG.)

I only know to do it because you showed me Novica. =-) I lost it too a while back. I'm hoping for more J King stuff to feed my addiction and picked up the Jamie bundle.

If you add the horror survivor texture you trigger the m4/v4 sale.

Sorry. Not Horror Survivors- Slightly Mad.

Also you can get Ollok, he is now free. =-)

Is a J.King and in that sale. She'll be $3.59. I like the eyebrows! And they do have a natural makeup shown in the flattened maps in the thumbnails.

Is the scrolling banner the only way to get to Fast Grab now?
    http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/

Also the link to the free items is in the scrolling banner. Is that the only place we'll be able to find that too? YUCK.

Cute makeup- tribal. I think the A4s would make cute dolls- shrink them down and have some toys for your Genesis and G2 kids!

I love the black and green design. But this dress isn't in the store.

My prices changed during the site changeover (it was a few minutes earlier than usual) and it literally changed while the page was spinning so I couldn't do anything about it. It was the V4M4 sale and you have to have a new release in the order.

So I canceled the order- then the product disappeared from the new releases page (after the site turned over) but was released yesterday I think. So perhaps the order shouldn't have changed at all.

I put in a cancellation anyway. Why? I reordered and put in another new release (the cheapie Rikur for $1.67) and my prices are cheaper!
    Sheesh.

Fantasy Shields went from .52 to .37 (save .15)
Buenaventura Crew Action from 2.79 to 1.96 (saved .83)
Pixie Hair from 1.87 to 1.31 (saved .56)

And three other items in the second cart were increased....BY ONE PENNY EACH.
So with the same items but with Rikur instead of the other new release (DM's Retreat, not the bundle, and yes, it triggered the new release discount so it HAD to be a separate item and new yesterday. It's not found at all today on the Yesterday's New Release page now) I got a discount of $1.54 minus 3 cents is $1.51 cheaper.

    Hmmm.

Now, this is somewhat important. Cypherfox and I just discovered that on the PC Sale page, once you buy something, it disappears. That is because there is no "Hide What I Own" option. This means if you buy clothing, and textures are offered later, you are stuck. You'll have to go research if you own the clothing.

Not good. They need to make that sale page the same as the other pages so we can see what we own.

If you go to the page for the textures product, it will say "owned" next to the required product's name. :)

Beautiful Melanie! I like the green seated one as it shows the draping so well (and like green in general.) Thalia Hair is one of my favorites because it just looks so classy. That's a wonderful idea on how to use the Ballerina shoes, it goes quite well with that dress! Thanks for showing another Khory product :)

Can you explain a bit to me about using a primitive plane to drape the dress- I'm not familiar with that technique. (No surprise there!)

Yeah, if the ground (or chair or whatever) doesn't have many vertices in its geometry than dynamic fabric tends not to take any notice of that object and falls straight through when you drape it. So if you create a plane (or a cube/etc) with a lot of vertices where you want the fabric to "stop" (i.e. many divisions in the Create - Primitive - Plane/etc dialog box) and place it exactly where the ground/chair/whatever sits then the drape will work properly. I suppose you could instead subdivide the original prop ground/chair/etc, but if the thing you want to catch the fabric is part of a large object then subdividing would make the object massive and might slow down your PC a bit.
Not sure whether this is very clear?

Thanks Melanie- I also put it in the References section of the thread under Dynamic Clothing. :) That way when I go to do some dynamic clothing I'll know exactly where to look for my reminder.

Everyone remember that Khory will be on the thread tomorrow night at 7pm Central time :)

This is the other post where I started the Survivor Poses, going to add a few more. Hope everyone got them during the sale last weekend :)
The nice thing with the poses is how the light will vary so much from body part to body part due to all the bends in the pose. Nice contrast with shadows.

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/44327/P810/#705394

Adding more to this post be sure to check back. It takes about half an hour per render. Going to be doing some of the standing poses after I finish up with a few more lower poses.

EDIT: Okay, done. You can see what a nice variety there is, and there are many more poses in the upright and kneeling positions. It's really a must-have set.

If there's anything that is not on the list of questions that you want to ask, you can go ahead and post them then Khory can answer it tomorrow night. She'll also pop in Saturday morning to see if anyone else wants to chat with her. Trying to make this as time-zone-friendly as possible. :)

The questions she'll be discussing so far are here:

Just letting you know that the V4/M4 sale which had changed to category 2 yesterday is now on category 3.

(So I guess the things in my basket from category 2 will now have to go back on the wishlist....)

Oh my, you didn't check out? :( I've done that before, particularly with Fast Grab. But they may put everything back on sale at the very end.
    Thanks for letting us know.

I used my PC coupon (the one where you need $18 to get $6 off any product (excl New Releases) and not just DO's.) Reminder on that- it's the total before the discount, not your total. I had $85 (full price) but only $16 plus change after the discount (before I used the code.) And it took off $6. I'm mentioning this because it can be confusing, I keep looking at the totals AFTER the sale prices, and that's not the way it's working. Its your FULL PRICE TOTAL that has to hit $18. Easy to do during the M4/V4 sale. So I got

Lion War Pack 4.35 (my new release item- love the lion theme! Can easily put a lion in the scene with it)
Some of the ones I'd wishlisted that I got incredibly cheap:

    Courtship Couple Poses 1.21
    TOA Legendary 1.39
    Uncle Albert 1.50

So what are you all scooping up?

And they've changed the V4/M4 category again. So the cart gets emptied, again. This is turning into a joke. First they keeps stuff in there for days then they change it after barely a day.

Do you think it's because they've possibly changed the end date (which they haven't announced have they?) so they are speeding things up or shuffling things around?

I'm going to post on the Platinum Club thread that this is causing problems. One of the admins is on right now.
EDIT: I asked about putting that category page back up.

I've checked out some stuff from this sale. Something to watch out or if you're paying with paypal. This new store doesn't give you the option to check the prices before paypal goes through. I don't know how it works but in the old store, paypal would get authorised you'd come back to the store and the price in the cart would have changed so you could cancel. Maybe not coming back to the store means you get the price it was in your cart before you went to paypal. Might avoid shopping when I know a changeover in prices is coming now.

That happened to me last night- it was spinning and I saw the grayed out price of $142+ instead of under $24. Couldn't stop it. But DAZ handled it immediately. Dont know how long Cristina has been with Daz (where's Britney?) but she handled it fast and efficiently. :)

Good lord! Glad to know it got sorted.

On another note i see that rdna's 50/60% off sale has started and they have a couple of battle bundles which are 70% off.

My poor credit card is already revolting. :) It's so silly to wishlist things that are less than $4 that are normally $25 but I made myself a promise to stick to $10-$15 on most of these daily changeups. It's only November 7th! I wish they would tell us when the sale is going to end- it's roughly "a month." (Or exactly?)

Okay, in preparation for Khory, a summary of her showcased products and the questions coming up.

    Chat With Khory Now Live

Okay, when Khory comes on, let's start with these questions:

*How long have you been a vendor at Daz?

*What was your motivation for becoming a PA?

    And welcome, Khory!

I have been at DAZ since December of 2010. And if your wondering yes it is the place to be and no that is not some bs party line. Simon and I started selling at Renderosity about 9 years ago and at 3d commune about the same time. I still sell there and at Yur Digital (I really like Clint who runs it) so I'm not a novice to the industry by any standards.

What was your motivation for becoming a PA? I would think everyone aspires to be a DAZ PA. It is the site with the most traffic in the industry after all. And I have always done some Studio only products so the fit seemed logical.

Simon was my best friend and business partner in this little 3d world. He passed away suddenly at 32 just over 2 years ago. He did all the tech stuff from our website (which I know nothing about so it flounders now) to figuring out how to make something work when I was frustrated with it. His modeling skills were also just coming into focus so he had artistic skills of his own that he was honing.

I'm sorry to hear that- it's tough losing a friend and a co-worker. Artists give each other a special kind of support that goes beyond just friendship.

Can you tell us about your art background?

And I'm curious- what was your first product ever released? How did you decide to start with that one?
