Bet she's snoozing but will answer you in a couple hours or so. :) Those uniforms are nice looking.

BTW, everyone who is affected- did you remember to adjust your clocks? We sprang back an hour.

Check out Barbult's entry in the RRRR. Bench Press A Zebra. Adorable!

I love this set. Wish there were more like it. =-) There are three textures. Everything I like but the shoes! Something odd in the reflection. But nice crew uniform.

@Jindi: I do agree. This set really makes expressions pop! I'm a new fan of Liquid Rust's work. Nice skins. Really cool faces for his female characters. I am gearing up to buy one of the men. I missed out on purchasing them during the sale, but I like the warm tone. =-) Sadly none of them are on sale right now.

Although I do not use gen 4 figures, they convert nicely with gen x, er, mostly.

@Novica like what you've done with the figure and her hair. She is on my wish list. I think this is a vendor I will buy most of the characters. =-) Hopefully there will be another sale REAL soon.

Hi Novica and everyone. Sorry I haven't been by for a while. It looks like I missed a lot. Been busy with the sales, RRRR and some RL.

It is exciting to see all the Khory stuff and the 50% off sale. I haven't bought anything yet, but the Design Tool Box Flooring and Dynamic Nightwear are tempting. I was shocked to see that Sasje used Genesis with a V4 product and it draped! So I tried a few of my old ones and they worked. I had tried this when Genesis first came out and they didn't work at all. Now I am wondering if maybe I wasn't trying to use the Poser versions in DS. Duh. A question for anyone with the full Dynamic Clothing package - can you thicken any of the clothes that you buy? I noticed the default fabric is thin on the ones I have.

What happened with the Khory chat? I see a bunch of questions on page 51.

I bought Mei Lin and Mayuree and Mongolian Beauty face morphs. Also the new Kimono. So I will post some renders soon. I agree with barbult that Mayuree's skin is way too perfect, kind of cartoonish. I bought her because the promos made me laugh for some reason, guess because the makeup is so over-the-top. ;-P

Running out to the barn to blanket Stetson as it's already in forties. The chat is this upcoming Friday, we posted renders this week because DAZ was doing the sale this weekend :) We wish to thank them for responding to Khory's request- and I'd also like to mention Khory wasn't the only one cooperating on that, there are several products with co-artists and we thank them too.

My studio was acting up a few days ago, nothing would parent and I had to translate things on, then wouldn't stick once parented. Then the content management was going bonkers. So I didn't go for the dynamic clothing renders, but some other folks can answer those questions. Headed out the door, back in awhile.

Have you ever had a side menu item pop up that you've never seen before? Even if I don't have an item, I've usually seen them. This PC item came up and it has a chalkboard inside and a few other props.

Reminder: Khory's sale will be ending in about an hour.

I've never noticed that item and I was just looking for a toolbox a couple days ago.

Well, the building is kinda hideous as it has that print and camo on it, I am going to try a metal shader as I haven't really gotten into shaders much recently. I just now had to look up how the heck to apply them (yes, it's been that long ago.) So I select it in surfaces and also in scene- but can anyone explain tiling? Does that have to do with offset on the x and y? I've never tweaked tiling and I think I read somewhere that could be used with shaders.

What I'm trying to do is replace that awful siding of the metal shed with just plain metal. The sides are different material zones from the roof, but I may convert all of it so it matches. I thought for 1.99 it would be worth getting an outdoor metal building to play around with.

PS I also got that building because it has a separate light fixture (the ceiling tubular ones) which may come in handy if doing older buildings and you want to do a light source.

Think of tiling as setting the number of times you want a square tile to repeat. So, increasing the horizontal tiling of a up-and-down striped square would mean you'd get thinner stripes and more of them.

Here's a quick pic to show where to change the settings. You want the Horizontal Tiles and Vertical Tiles, and can normally ignore the offset (it just shifts the start point for the repeat, doesn't affect size of the tiling). You can see this Fabricator tile's default setting is to repeat 10 times vertically and 10 times horizontally.

@Novica, I just reread what you'd said about using metal shaders. Those ones might not need to have their tiling settings adjusted. It depends on whether they have a bump map to give them some texture. If they are plain it won't make any difference how many repetitions they have. So just click on the surface and then click on your choice of shader and see how it looks with the default.

For tiles that do need to have the horizontal and vertical repeat adjusted, look for one-click presets in content library. Khory has these with the floors to make the pattern larger or smaller. Marieah also includes them and those icons have a number on them to tell you how many times they will repeat. They give you a quicker way of changing those slider settings that I showed in my image above.

I tried the DLD Metallic shader, and it has several displacements to click on, and reflection. Nothing I did changed either- the slats of the shed just went solid gray with dark bars between the strips. If I get a chance tonight or tomorrow, I'll do some screenshots.

Just wanted to show a beautiful field of cotton that I drive through when I run errands. It's picture perfect because we've had NO rain since it came into bloom, so each HUGE puff of cotton is perfect with NO weathering. Enjoy :)

Many shaders only show gray or white in the viewport. You must render to see their effect.

Yes, that I knew. :) I didn't even spot render, I did the full render. Not good results, just the gray tone, no reflections.

I went to a Nature one and applied wood just to test it and I was doing it correctly. :)

I'm doing other things right now but when I get a chance I'll try out Khory's walls for you all.

Reminder if you don't have Victoria 6 Pro or Starter Bundles, they are 70% off today in Fast Grab. Also Young Teens 5 and a few other items. I keep forgetting to check Fast Grab because of all the other PC stuff that changes.

Hey, there's a render that I think deserves mentioning. Ivy's Ghost Hunter, the last render, is so cool! She put the wing of the dragon in front of/through the tree, and the flashlight beam is really neat. Pop in and tell her which ones you like- I went for the last one but the fog rolling in on the others (and that one) is perfectly done.

Imaginary_House has some cool stuff! I already showcased their Indoor Pool. I got the Elevator Hallway as I will be doing a courthouse scene in my book and that is perfect for a professional building. If you haven't noticed it, it's $1.99

This gives you the hair and the hall for the same price as those two individually PLUS you get the Mech Girl (which you can kitbash. What the heck, it's the same price as the other two by themselves. You get leggings, boots, gloves, weapon, sunglasses, etc.)

EDIT: Oh yeah- it's a DO and you can use your $6 on it too as that applies to new releases! Wheeee!

I've been alerted to a coupon for $5 off DAZ originals (excluding new releases and gift cards). It has not been announced but HAS been discussed on other threads. If you want to find DO's all of the sci-fi category ones are DO's. The code is SHARECG. Thanks to a thread surfer for telling me! No price minimum is listed. (or expiration date, but I wouldn't wait too long!)
EDIT: That outfit SereneNight featured is in the sale.

The closest race ever! For the governor's race in Connecticut, guess how many votes are separating the two candidates with 60% of the vote in?

    SEVEN VOTES.

Yes, I find that I use this outfit a lot. I seriously lack good starship uniforms wish some kind soul would make some more of the non-sexy variety. I do have to make the mats matte, though. I don't like 'em all shiny.

As promised, here are some renders using the Maiden Fair Dynamic Gown by Khory.

The first and second renders show the gown and its sash on V4 (for which it was made) - these are two of the fabric variants: the leaf green silk and the ruby velvet. These were both done with an animated drape. For the seated pose I introduced a primitive plane and cube with many divisions to drape the dress because otherwise it was dropping through the ground and seat in the scene, which is from The Village Courtyard 02 by Stonemason (then hid them for the render).
The V4 head shape is from Ivory by Virtual_World, but the skin texture is from Summer Character and Hair by Valea. The hair is Sultry Hair by DAZ3D/goldtassel and the necklace from Liz Character and Hair by DAZ3D/Valea.

The final pair of renders show the gown on a G2F character, Ginger by DAZ3D/Countess/Silver. Animated drapes over a primitive plane again - and as Ginger is shorter than V4 I used the "Shrink Y" parameter for the gown to shorten it. I had a little trouble getting the sash right this time - if I'd had more time I'd have tweaked some more to get it right - but instead I just cheated a little by freezing the drape then moving the sash up and sideways a little to remove the poke-through I was getting from the dress. The first of these shows another of the provided fabric variants: the rose weave. The second is a retexturing job with shaders from Ye Olde Clothe Bundle by Marieah/Teresa Tyllo. (For Matzones, the front and back of the gown are each divided into three panels and the left and right sleeves are each separate zones, so it gives quite a bit of scope for playing with shaders.)
The hair this time is Thalia Hair by DAZ3D, the jewellery is from Baroness Jewels by esha and the shoes are from Ballerina Outfit for G2F by DAZ3D/Xena. The backdrop is Invetero by Jack Tomalin.

All the scenes are lit with a combination of Age of Armour's Advanced Distant Light and Advanced Spotlight (which I use whenever I want a quick result).

Beautiful Melanie! I like the green seated one as it shows the draping so well (and like green in general.) Thalia Hair is one of my favorites because it just looks so classy. That's a wonderful idea on how to use the Ballerina shoes, it goes quite well with that dress! Thanks for showing another Khory product :)

Can you explain a bit to me about using a primitive plane to drape the dress- I'm not familiar with that technique. (No surprise there!)

Well, the new site went live about three or four hours ago, and there's of course some love it hate it aspects. Love that I can see what's in my cart, I can hide what I've already bought, that product pictures can be enlarged. Hate the What's Hot and the large banner, and also that it's not confined to just the opening page. We did not get a wishlist icon for the gallery page so you wouldn't have to go to the product page and do that, and I think that is an essential item that was left out. What a pain! And I hate the horizontal rows and rows and rows...it really needed sidebars to break things up or something.

So we're ushering in a new site..and forums are slated to be next.

When I was shopping I actually turned the view down to 75%, and as I always do screenshots of my orders (due to the cruddy shopping cart not showing you exactly what you paid for each item once you check out) I had to turn that view down to 50%. I can't remember on that thread in members only forum if anyone was able to use an iphone, so many people were trying different phones with varied results.

I find it loads slower for me, with the spinning wheel constantly coming up. The forums are hard to find, and. I find that a bit frustrating. Don't like the double column wish list.

The site is an eye-strain with too much to view at once. =-/ There is just too much going on. I'm reminded of Rendo. I like sites that are easy to search with less clutter.
