Will there ever be a possibility of discounted membership, or is it going to be all full price, all the time?

It was posted in this thread:  Premier Membership FAQ (Questions Only Please) - Daz 3D Forums  Memberships can be paid with a Daz Gift Card or Store Credit

Gift Card sale was available to Premier Members the first two days of the Premier Sale at a 30% discount.  I normally carry a large store credit balance purchased during a Gift Card sale.  30% off the $18.99 Premier Membership paid with discounted Gift Card/store credit would drop the price to $13.29 per month.  I tried to change my membership payment method from credit card to store credit but received an error message, though I don't need to do this until my Premier Membership expires months from now.

    1. I own the Meshgrabber 3.0 Products and since once bought products stay untouched I would expect them to still work (even the Premier plugins offer more/better functionality) after I upgrade to Premier or unsubscribe from Premier Membership. Is this correct?

    That's correct.

    2. The Meshgrabber Products allowed to create Morphs based on the modifications. These morphs will still work after an upgrade and after unsubscribing from Premier. Correct?

As long as you save the scene with the created morph properties or save the morph(s) as Modifier Assets (i.e. Morph Assets...)

    3. Does the new Geometry Sculptor plugin also allow creating morphs? Will those morphs still work after I unsubscribe Premier? In other Words: can I create content (esp. with Geometry Sculptor) which won't work if - for whatever reason - I decide not to continue with Premier Membership?

Yes, it does. Again: the created morphs or saved the Modifier Assets of them are not Geometry Sculptor plugin and/or Premier tier dependent anymore.

Is the "convert Daz+ remaining money to Premier months" a limited time offer, or will it still be available in a few months/years?

  • Similar to @P302's question but more specific:

    a) I have invested a lot in the existing plugin tools which I have diligently upgraded with each revision; accepting that they won't be fully integrated, will they still work in 4.23 and above?

    b) Will my current Serial Numbers / Activation keys for the current versions of the plugins still be honoured?

    c) Will there be incompatibilities between the integrated tools and the 'legacy' tools?

    d) Will support for 'legacy' tools continue?

    e) If I do not upgrade to 4.23, will I be locked out of future character generations?

    f) Will non-premiere new releases requiring 4.23 work in 4.22?

    g) Given that a 'selling point' of 4.23 Premiere are the 'Legacy Freebies', will this backward compatibility be maintained?

They still work in 4.23. There's no guarantee a future version won't break them.

    b) Will my current Serial Numbers / Activation keys for the current versions of the plugins still be honoured?

The current keys or serials still work with the original plugins. They won't work for the Premier version.

    c) Will there be incompatibilities between the integrated tools and the 'legacy' tools?

    So far none was reported.

    d) Will support for 'legacy' tools continue?

Probably not since the PA doesn't own the code anymore.

    e) If I do not upgrade to 4.23, will I be locked out of future character generations?

It will depend on whether those generations require a DS new feature added somewhere along the way.

    f) Will non-premiere new releases requiring 4.23 work in 4.22?

DS version listed on a product page is always the last one. A lot of products still work fine in older versions, but that depends on which features of DS they use.The new filatoon shader requires 4.23 AFAIK for example, so materials for products using it won't work in earlier version.

    g) Given that a 'selling point' of 4.23 Premiere are the 'Legacy Freebies', will this backward compatibility be maintained?

Not sure what you're asking there.

That can't mean that when the product shows bugs in the future DAZ isn't obliged to deliver technical, right? As the dealer they are the ones to deliver support for something they sell, especially when they bought the sourcecode and should have the personnel to repair bugs that might be found by the users. Just to clarify the meaning of your answer...

Thank you for your prompt reply, pretty much as I as expected so 4.23 is safe ... for the moment ...

With regard to g) it's probably answered by your other responses, I'm not sure what I was asking either, my excuse is that the questions were formulated prior to my morning coffee

@Timbales I've added the answers to the FAQ above but they are as follows:

    • Shape Transfer is 3, 8 & 8.1 to 9 only
    • Dual membership is not possible at this time as far as I'm aware

@Imago Looks like the Product and Asset filters have been added for the Exclusive Content!

    • I found an explaination of this feature from when it was added to the public build! It was originally designed to help you sort out which product had which License but the function of using it for Premier Exclusive Assets/Products has been added to it.
    • Premier / Exclusive

    @maikdecker Hiya Maik!

    • Weekly freebies remain weekly freebies it looks like they just mentioned them as being free for Premier as well!
    • Shape Transfer is 3, 8 & 8.1 to 9 only

@WendyLuvsCatz The smart content/postgresql is out of my ballywick so I'm asking the go to guys about it and will let you know as soon as I hear back from them!

@cubaconn Can you check your membership page again please? A fix was rolled out late yesterday!

@murgatroyd314 Membership discounts we are not told of ahead of time it is up to marketing and the PTBs as to what happens with those.

@P302 Plug-Ins you own like MeshGrabber 3.0 will stay in the same state they were in and "should" be useable unless there is a major coding change between Studio versions. Premier should have no effect on this.

    • Your mesh grabber morphs will still work as they are saved out as .dsf morph files once you have saved them to the data folder.
    • For Geometry Sculptor once you have saved out your morphs they are not considered part of the plug-in anymore and therefor will still be available.

@Elor As long as the membership is active they should have access to any previous content but let me double check on that for you.

@Togire The Convert Daz+ to Premier is at the discretion of the marketing team but let me check.

@paolo_35229750 Leana got most of your answers here's the one at the end and is I think what you are asking:

    • The legacy freebies are meant to be a mix of Freebies that generally span several user bases so they should still be backwards compatible however we can't promise this as products and technology evolve.

Please, feel free to delete this post if necessary. I just wanted to express my gratitude to Elliandra for keeping the OP updated. In KB posts like this, I appreciate having all the relevant information in one post rather than having to go through all the corpus of messages to find what you're looking for.

  • This seems obvious but wanted to confirm.

Installing through DIM all the Premier plugins-DForce manager, geometry sculptor, etc. and DIM is asking me for an install path.

I have 4.23 public release, but I noticed that the files in DIM are followed by +BETA+, so I'm assuming to use these features I need to have the 4.23 latest Beta installed to use?

Not life or death, I have the previous versions of all except geometry sculptor but I'd like to get all my stuff in to the latest DAZ install

@Jumbotron Thank you! It's one of my pet peeves too lol

@Umi no Senshi no Ishi Yes there are 3 versions of the Premier Plug-Ins. Beta, Publishing and Live and each needs the corresponding Daz Studio version to install to.

I mean, I've tried everything. I even opened a ticket, but all I got was a link to the membership page in my account that doesn't work at all... What else can I do?

Interesting, I have a couple where two versions were installed and I had to make sure the newer one had the required key and the older one didn't; there were also other that didn't activate until the Serial# was installed ...

    You all have the

    Vicky 9 Character Bundle | Daz 3D

today so I wanted to evaluate the DAZ+ discounts vs the Premier discounts and buy the bundle. However, the Premier buy button is not available to me at all and the DAZ+ button is but the data fed into is is wrong. See below.

    ++++ DAZ+ Subscribe Popup

Are you sure you want to keep your subscription?

Changing your subscription will change your access to Daz 3D products, exclusive savings, and other perks.

Your next renewal will be $9.99 on 2023-06-07

    +++++

Also, I can't change my payment method, I just get a spinning wait in the UI when I try to do that. I also deleted 2 payment methods to force the database / UI to update the method I'd like to use but that didn't work.

I upgraded my BETA install to DAZ Studio 4.23.0.1, currently at 4.23.0.4.  Reviewing "About Installed Plugins" I notice the serial number for Daz Studio Pro Bundle no longer has a serial number applied.  Same for my old install of DAZ Studio 4.21.x.  Is that because your login now controls access to DAZ Studio 4.23 features?

I mention this because I no longer have DAZ Decimator registered.  Way back when DAZ Studio 3 Advanced went to DAZ Studio Pro 4, I paid for that upgrade.  I never did the "buy back" offer for DAZ Studio 4 Pro as I wanted to keep DAZ Decimator.  The serial number started with a prefix of SDZSPRO and it unlocked DAZ Decimator.  (the free version of DAZ Studio Pro 4 has a serial number with a prefix of SDZFPRO). I was never given nor needed a DAZ Decimator serial number using the SDZSPRO serial number.

Do I need to re-apply the SDZSPRO serial number to Daz Studio Pro Bundle to get back DAZ Decimator?  Or should I be given a serial number for DAZ Decimator and leave the DAZ Studio Pro 4 with no serial number applied.

View DAZ Decimator (10673)  in the store show it as "PURCHASED".

I did submit a service ticket (464054) and there appears to be a misunderstanding what I am asking. I would imagine the CS rep would need to know the details of the DS 3 Advanced to DS 4 Pro migration to make sense of my service ticket. The ticket contained everything said in this post.  The first response from CS is send me a link to upgrade to DAZ Premier, which I already did at the start of the Premier Sale.

I had the similar issue after updating Public Build to 4.23.0.4... only difference was that Decimator was just disabled rather than needed a serial number re-entered.

    - Did you try pasting Serial Number there ? Worked?

    - The way I fixed it is that I uninstall Decimator plugin first in DIM, then re-intalled it. Then it was enabled again.

So if I don't allow Studio to connect to the web I can't use the Premier content?

What I can confirm by now is that without logging in to Daz Connect, you can use all the new plugins and the free content Assets that Daz pushed to the users days ago. Since there's been no Premier exclusive content so far, we don't know yet if you can use them offline.

I am hesitant to apply a serial number to DAZ Studio 4 Pro Bundle unless told otherwise to do so by an official comment to my post.  As I mentioned I don't have a DAZ Decimator serial as the DAZ Studio 4 Pro Bundle serial unlocked it.

From the FAQ on membership page:

    Hi Elliandra,

This question may have been already asked (and answered) somewhere else in the forum, but I haven't been able to find it, and it relates to the free monthly bundle...

    Elliandra said:

    6. What are the "Free robust character bundles monthly"?

So, when it comes to using the free character coupon, will the current list of character bundles, plus the new character bundles added during the month, only be available for the current month, with next month being a new selection, or will they, and the new character bundles, continue to be included in the available selection "indefinitely"?

Also, to echo Jumbotron, thank you for putting this FAQ together and maintaining it, it's really appreciated.

  • @Elliandra Thanks for getting back to me. It's still the same issue; even when I try to change the payment method, I get an error. And the membership page It's the same, I can't do a thing, not even renew my Daz+ which, by the way, expired last year. Check out the screenshot I attached.

    5. Are there any membership restrictions such as specific countries or payment methods?

    • Memberships can be paid for using Discover, American Express, VISA, Mastercard, Paypal, Daz Gift Cards, or Daz store credit.
    • Restricted countries - None

I decided to try Premier for one month, thinking I could use my store credit to pay for it, but I didn't see where I could use it.

After clicking on Chose Plan button, the payment options I was offered were Credit Card (with a number already here, which is strange considering I never registred a card with Daz: at best, I used a virtual number in a previous order: I don't remember registering it with Daz because it's a one-time use number and it's not visible in my paiement option), Amazon Pay and Paypal.

Did I miss something ? Or does the ability to pay with store credits is not active yet ?

I found no option of that... so I don't think we can pay with store credits for that Tier.

    Morning All!

@cubaconn The customer service team is working on the tickets as fast as they can but they are swamped atm. The web team is also working on the issue as well. So all I can do is ask for patience on their behalf pretty please with a cherry on top. There are a lot of us in the same situation and it's taking web a little longer than they would like to get it sorted out.

@nonesuch00 The Vicky 9 bundle is available for everyone, the premier members get a once monthly coupon for a free character bundle that can be used on it though. As mentioned web is working on getting the buttons to show for everyone.

@Lindsey I had that happen as well I just re-entered my "SDZSPRO" pro serial number and it fixed it for me. There were also a few other serial numbers that were dropped at the same time so I re-entered those as well and all was good in serial land *nods*

@Robert Freise You only need to connect to have studio register that the plug-ins are allowed and then to grab your exclusive content. You are not required to have it connected all the time.

@Tophs That's a good question on the monthy character bundles. I think they will stay in the category but let me confirm this with the team. It may be tuesday before we hear as monday is a holiday!

@Rod Wise Driggo We are expecting new tutorials on the plug-ins to be released soon.

@Elor I'll check on the store credit option as I pulled that straight from the Daz+ FAQ section.
