@Robert%20Freise You only need to connect to have studio register that the plug-ins are allowed and then to grab your exclusive content. You are not required to have it connected all the time

Does that mean that they will continue to work when I copy them over to my totally secure no intertnet machine?

I haven't bought in to the Premier option. I tried to load a G8 outfit onto a G9 character but there is no G9 option in the automatic "Fit To" window that opens. Is the ability to load costumes onto G9 figures in the Premier option, but not in the free option?

(By the way, I'm not complaining about the Premier option. The reason I have not bought into it is that I am a Mac user, and DAZ Studio only runs in emulation on the new Apple M chips. The emulation is called "Rosetta," but it should be termed "Rosetta 2" because it is the second iteration of Rosetta. I used Rosetta 1 and then Apple dropped it and I lost money even on Apple apps that I had bought, for example, Final Cut. So I'm not sure I'll even be able to use DAZ Studio in the future. I sure hope DAZ will soon get a version of DAZ Studio running natively on the Apple M chips. That's my issue. If that happens, I will then consider buying more DAZ items and taking the Premier option.)

No, they need to be used on a machine where DS occasionally (I am still not sure how often) logs in to your account - I am not awere of any way to use the account-tied stuff (plug-ins or exclusive content) in a totally off-line machine.

Did you install the latest update to G8 starter essentials?

So then Studio like Poser has a call home function now

@Timbales I've added the answers to the FAQ above but they are as follows:

    • Shape Transfer is 3, 8 & 8.1 to 9 only
    • Dual membership is not possible at this time as far as I'm aware

@Imago Looks like the Product and Asset filters have been added for the Exclusive Content!

    • I found an explaination of this feature from when it was added to the public build! It was originally designed to help you sort out which product had which License but the function of using it for Premier Exclusive Assets/Products has been added to it.
    • Premier / Exclusive

    @maikdecker Hiya Maik!

    • Weekly freebies remain weekly freebies it looks like they just mentioned them as being free for Premier as well!
    • Shape Transfer is 3, 8 & 8.1 to 9 only

@WendyLuvsCatz The smart content/postgresql is out of my ballywick so I'm asking the go to guys about it and will let you know as soon as I hear back from them!

@cubaconn Can you check your membership page again please? A fix was rolled out late yesterday!

@murgatroyd314 Membership discounts we are not told of ahead of time it is up to marketing and the PTBs as to what happens with those.

@P302 Plug-Ins you own like MeshGrabber 3.0 will stay in the same state they were in and "should" be useable unless there is a major coding change between Studio versions. Premier should have no effect on this.

    • Your mesh grabber morphs will still work as they are saved out as .dsf morph files once you have saved them to the data folder.
    • For Geometry Sculptor once you have saved out your morphs they are not considered part of the plug-in anymore and therefor will still be available.

@Elor As long as the membership is active they should have access to any previous content but let me double check on that for you.

@Togire The Convert Daz+ to Premier is at the discretion of the marketing team but let me check.

@paolo_35229750 Leana got most of your answers here's the one at the end and is I think what you are asking:

    • The legacy freebies are meant to be a mix of Freebies that generally span several user bases so they should still be backwards compatible however we can't promise this as products and
    • technology evolve.

OK, thanks. Yhry've still not fixed it for me om Saturday so I'll check again Sunday.

In the Premier version, is there a way to apply the Daz PBR shader to Genesis versions earlier than Genesis 9 and have everything applied including the eyes? Or does the PBR shader apply only to parts of say Genesis 8 or Genesis 3?

DS version has nothing to do with that, just select the object and the surfaces then apply the base PBR Skin preset and adjust as needed - if you hold down cmd/ctrl when you double-click the preset there will be an option to igmnore existing maps (though I think the base shader will leave maps alone anyway).

  • Well I would pay 50€ a month of the export to blender and unreal worked with Geograft... nevertheless it seems that this funtion is exacly the same so no use to move to premier. Is this assumption correct?

Yes, the updates to the exporter are not tied to Premier.

I have a Premier membership, but I don't think I've activated it properly. I opened DAZ, logged in, and clicked Update Metadata. I watched the progress bar as it updated the Metadata, and it showed that it successfully completed the update. I then logged out, and closed DAZ. I got a cup of coffee, and restarted DAZ. I don't see any new tools, just the regular things that DS 4.23 has. What steps have I left out?

That would allow you to download the freeexclusive content, but the plug-ins are separate items not part of the base footprint and plugins cannot be installed through Daz Studio - you need to use Install Manager for that https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/704271/installing-activating-and-accessing-daz-studio-premier-features#latest

Thank you, Richard! I have it all set up now.

What for example are some of the items in the "Free exclusive content"? If there are too many to mention, How about someone mentioning one or two? I'm just curious about what kind of additional content Is given out in the DAZ Premier version of Daz studio.

Premier-exclusive items are extra add-ons offered to members when a new character bundle is released. The only premier-only item released so far is the Dark Elf shape for Vicky 9.

I want to make absolutely sure I understand: "The Daz Premier tier includes all the perks of Daz Base and Daz Plus" means that all items that are free under DAZ+ are included in Premiere, correct? I don't really care about DAZ Studio Premiere or its additional tools; the extra discount options are what I'm interested in, and I want to be certain I'm getting what I had with DAZ+ in addition to the new stuff.

  • LeanaLeana Posts: 11,711

Yes, items that are free for Daz+ members are free for premier members too.

There's a comparison between the various plans here: https://www.daz3d.com/memberships

    Thanks, Leana!

  •  Why credit card is the only available option? I can pay with PayPal in the store, I could pay before for Daz +, other way more popular services like Adobe also have this option, but Daz Premier subscription is credit card only?

Because there's no option to set up PayPal as prtefered payment method.

Paypal is supposed to be available as a subscription method, and I've seen people post that they subscribed with it. Are you ugrading a membership, or signing for a new membership?

Upgrading and I do not have any option for setting up PayPal as my prefered payment method.

Will there be an eventual opportunity to purchase Aiko 9 and other characters exclusive to Premier? I feel more comfortable buying my content. This is starting to feel like "you will own nothing and be happy" situation.

I don't want to give up my PC+ time. Can I buy 1 month of Premier subscription time? For testing, then I'll fall back to PC+ if I don't like it.

No, unless you have a second account I suppose.

Is there a tag so I can sift out Premier content only?
"Premier" doesn't seem to catch anything, it would be very handy to have that tag in place :)

That's not so bad idea... Question is is it allowed???
