looks really good.
@jakiblue That is awesome- love the oranges coming over to the blues, and the orange glow on the horn. Fantastic lighting!
Just to show you how the new releases for today are working (which are correct) This is if you are a PC+ member and own the required bundles:
20.95 item x .50 (50%off) is 10.47 x .75 (25% off) is 7.85 Item is not a DOriginal
9.95 item goes 9.97 for half then 25% off is 7.47
5.95 item that IS a DO gets the 30% so 11.16 then half is 5.58 then 25% off is 4.18
So the new releases for today are working right. I haven't shopped the rest of the store. If you find any good deals, let us know.
@jakiblue -Wow, nice work! Great color, plus the smoke effect abstracting the lower body to shadows and smoky whirls really adds to the mood and atmosphere!

I'm always late to the party, but just in case some of you don't surf the Daz thread for Overdrawn/Ati app- you can now hide (thank gawd) the What's Hot rows, and add a Wishlist heart right from the gallery page. To update your preferences, go up to the little blue head/bust in the upper right of your screen and click the Daz-Deals.
I finally got round to trying out the Muse dress, and the scene turned out to have a mind of its own. I'm not sure what the story is, but it's tragic...
Speaking of police cars... don't remember if we mentioned a futuristic/more modern one- The Nemesis, and this gallery image by SereneNight shows it pretty well. I just checked and we didn't mention it (unless I missed it.)
@nath Oh, that mood. I feel her despair. The side lighting really brings that out, and the limp hands.
Be aware that the 50% off has broken the 3D Universe sale, even if you put a new release in the cart from that sale, the items in those stores stay at 50% and not 60%. I already mentioned it on the sale thread so it might be fixed.
@jakiblue that is gorgeous! Have you seen StrangFate's Kadis Armour for G3F. It works very well for G8F and is also a stunning set of armor. One of my all time favorites.
@nath, that is really beautiful,
Thank you, @IceDragonArt, @Novica - but I do think I need to render some kittens and flowers now.
That's pretty awesome police car. We used to make fun of the sheriffs in Georgia because they'd alway get themselves corvettes as their personal police cruisers.
After much internal debate, I picked up the Kaylee Pro Bundle today. I wanted the hair and several of the outfits, plus the three free bundles were really enticing. This evening I've done a couple of quick close-up renders. The first is using settings 'out of the box', with her make-up a little on the extreme side (I was thinking Sci-Fi teenager), the second I used @DivaMakeup's Altern8 - Skin Shader System for Genesis 8, Project Eyeray by DimensionTheory (which I picked up when it was in fast grab) and the natural lips setting from P3D Riza for Aiko 8 (because I couldn't get rid of the lip shine). Nowadays, I don't often use figures as they come out of the box, I like to play around with morphs, skin shaders etc., so I don't (and never did) plan to use Kaylee as she is. I'm still leaning, so I apologise to @DivaMakeup and @DimensionTheory for not doing justice to their products!

So going to share what I'm experiencing when I pick poses to help showcase the products. I put the clothes on the figure, did the pose, then used the clothing vendor's corrected foot pose. Want to show what you have to watch out for.
That plane is World Center, 0/0/0
First, here's the pose without the shoe pose preset. When the ball of the foot on the left leg is where it should be, the entire right leg doesn't contact the ground, nor does the top of the foot. The knee does touch the ground (that's blocked by the foot closest to us.) First, the pose that doesn't lay the leg properly, but that's tweakable. A character's build can affect the surface contact. Side and front views.
Next the shoe pose and it's impact. So.... my question is, do you pick the pose, then the clothes, or pick the clothes, then the pose? Do you encounter this problem when you apply the foot poses from shoes very often?
I have the same problem and practically always have to tweak the pose, raise or rotate the character (it is a cheat that works from some camera angles). I usually dress the characters first. But I get the same result either way.
I often have floating feet with poses these days. They don't always seem to check that the character's feet are on the ground, or the leg is touching the ground when kneeling. It is especially bad when I use HDRIs because of the way the ground is drarwn. I've been known to cheat to fix the problem by changing the y-scale of calves for this purpose to make a foot or ankle or calf fit better.
Its not just gen 8 poses, but poses with poor foot positions are sort of a multi-generational issue.
I wish there was a 'drop limb to ground command because its a bit silly the amount of time I spend on this issue. And the drop to ground command doesn't always work.
Circus is in town: Hot dog, Cool cat and Skater mouse.
More often than not, I pick the clothes first, then I look for a pose that I think will show off both the figure and the wardrobe. And if I've chosen the set, that enters into what pose I choose as well. (And sometimes it's a combination of poses.)
It is a rare pose that I don't have to tweak at least a little bit. Most poses get more than a little tweak, especially when the shoes and shoe pose make as big a difference as those in your example.
I love the "cool" cat… and the skater mouse is a real hoot!
I didn't buy Dog 8, but I did pick up the free costume for it. Take away the bun and mustard and that's a fairly nice "harness," especially for a working dog. And I'm sure to get Dog 8 at some point. (In the meantime, I may try to fit it to the HW Dog…)
I never expect purchased poses anymore to be anything but ballpark situated sitting, standing, or leaning and for me to have to adjust it to be correct. You'd think that with all these pre-created humans, animals, enviroments, materials, lighting, ..., and poses, my scenes would be ready to render so fast but between the extreme sluggishness of posing in my viewport and changing around the feet, hands, and elsewhere 360 degrees to make sure I'm getting a decent accurate pose it takes a long time before I am even ready to render to scene.most of the time. I can see why some people prefer to render nearly naked portraits and be done with it.
Scaling the calves - what an awesome tip @serenenight. I’ll keep that in mind.
You did extremely well! And I can see the difference in the two lips.
Yeah sometimes it’s just easier if the single foot is floating to do that than to figure out why the pose is not working. With perspective on its impossible to notice.
I somehow missed this- that is too cute! The mouse gets the best ride, ever. A great view, with changing scenery.
That mouse is a hoot.
Thanks! Here's a close-up of the mouse, though it's old it's pretty nice actually.
Where are the other 2 or 3 mousekateers?;0
@Toaz he/she is just so incredibly cute! Now l’m just going to have to find it and add it to my wish list
Unfortunately this is The Last Mousekateer...
It's on sale right now actually:
