    I did the first part (parent a plane to the thigh) but didn't know about the script at that time. The thread is confusing (I am SO not technical) and I'm trying to figure out what I am supposed to use, and if there's more than one, which comes first. I'll look at it. :)

    Well, it's not working. I put the plane parented to the thigh
    I selected the hand first (the thing that grabs)
    Held CTRL and selected the plane. 
    Opened the script and applied, it confirmed the plane was being held onto by the hand.
    Closed the script. 
    When I move the thigh, or even move the plane, the hand stays where it is.

    And then I tried the hand and the thigh (in the order I was supposed to) and it confirmed the hand was holding on to the thigh, and again, it didn't work. I even tried moving the thigh when the hand and the thigh were highlighted in Scene. And also with just the thigh highlighted. So thanks for the suggestions, but it's a no-go for me. :(

    Wanted to showcase a set which is perfect for people who:
    1. love sets that have good lighting built into them
    2. don't want to spend a lot of time doing lighting
    3. don't have a clue what they're doing with lighting
    4. wants a set that renders quickly (aka, how about 93% in TEN MINUTES? With character, hair, clothes, and set) 
    4. any or all of the above.

    Riverthorn Fortress Pool Chamber  has such neat tiles for the floor. I love the pattern. You can probably flip that and use a section of it for a great portrait background. At least 4 years ago I suggested flipping the floors, we all did renders exploring that idea. I had to smile when I saw that suggested over in another thread. 

    The (first render)  is shown with the default studio Iray lights, NO LIGHTS ADDED. The Film ISO was 135, then I put the Exposure Value to 13.43.   This is shown with these settings in the Render pane, under Filtering:
    First,  I never use Gaussian anymore, ever- so the Pixel Filter is Mitchell with a radius of 1.35 (the lower the number the crisper the details. I usually don't go too much lower than 1.35 or I start seeing quite a bit of noise/jaggy aliasing) 

    Noise Filter is on, Degrain Filtering is 4 and the Radius 3. Blur Difference is .21   

    Under Progressive Rendering (Still in the Render pane) the Rendering Quality was 1.62,  max samples 12,000, time was 170,000 (I just pick some gawd-awful time, my computer never takes that long.)  I tilted the camera a bit to have some fun with the DOF/perspective. 

    So next, the woman. That is Eurielle for Genesis 8 Female, who I thought looked like a Godin or P3Design gal. She is wearing DForce Summer Sass for Genesis 8 Female(s)  by @WildDesigns and the material options are really colorful and varied. You have stripes, circular objects, etc.  The hat looks like it has a few sharper bends so more subdivision would help that.  The hair is Double Tails Hair (Gen3/8F)   

    The closeup went a bit slower of course, but was still 65% at 10 minutes. 83% at 15 minutes.  Took slightly over 29 minutes to complete. 

    Click to enlarge, is 1000px. You can get a hint of the texture on the arm, but the next lighting will show the skin details much better. 

    Then switched to the Pro-Studio lighting, used 15 R. The lips and skin were tweaked (the lips a lot, they are very dry IMO. Look back at the pool portrait.) Adding metallicity and a lot of the settings put moisture into the lips ( as usual, also lower roughness, increase reflectivity, etc) I also changed the color of the shine from white to a pale yellow. I rarely leave lip shine as white. Light pink is good too.

    We have some storms coming in, and since we got a direct hit from lightning two weeks ago, we are still unplugging totally when these storms roll in. So if you post, I'm not ignoring you. They're bringing the horses in from the pasture right now because of a purple cell zipping up from the bay through Gulf Breeze and headed that way. I'm the weather gal for the barn, since the owner is running errands a lot (buying hay, taking horses to vet, etc) so I sent her a PM of a screenshot.

     Hi Novica: The hat should have loaded in High Resolution. Just go to Resolution Level and switch to High Resolution. I will have to do an update, as the hat should have loaded in HR. Thanks!

    I have never played wit the ISO or film settings myself. Really, don't know how to map what I know from the physical world to the digital. Whatever you are doing, the scene reallly pops! THe depth of field gives a real sense of dimensionality.Those poinsettas are a lovely vibrant shade of red.

    @rakuda  Thank you :)  RGcincy and I tested out Gaussian Vs Mitchell filters, sometimes it's hard or impossible to see the difference but I like Mitchell for crispness. He did a great job of checking it with city items like billboard print, telephone wires, city scenes in general. Mitchell didn't always perform any better than Gaussian, but when using Gaussian, I liked it better at lower levels too. 

    The lighting by the vendor creates the atmosphere, as it is just the default Iray setting. So this was a "load and go" scene, and I liked it too. I think it would be really good if Sun/Sky or another HDRI was used and had sun shining in through the balcony area.  It would be dramatic.

    I wanted to show off the new armour by Bad Kitteh Co.    Its very well made with lots of attention to detail.  It also has special morphs added to fit tthe bulkier characters like Josh Crockets Orc, and Raw Arts Orc.  Its bulky armour but its also very kit bashable, the head gear comes in two pieces so you can have just top helmet, or just the jaw piece. This is my favorite genre, and I am always excited when something of this quality come out.

    @icedragonart   Please remember to link to the product  :)   The render shows the intensity and determination- I sure wouldn't want to get past him!  Question though- is the back of the outfit embedded in the floor, or does it end squarely like that? 

    I also love the godrays and particles floating around. Really ups the mood.

    Okay, I had enough of some of the same tired arguments regarding men's content, but more importantly, major things which weren't being discussed IMO. My main complaint is using the number of forum members vs non-forum members buyers as a measuring tool to justify sales data. It's what we SPEND that should be measured, not the number of us. And we commented several times about the poor incentives during men's content sales vs the great things offered during the women's.  This sale this past week has been an exception, the Victoria sale offered old content but that was because it was celebrating her past and present.

    See what you think. And let's keep an eye on the promo offers for male and female content and see if in the future, it's comparable. Maybe it was just a fluke in the past that some of the male initiatives were just paler in comparison. I know they also had some good ones, I'm not saying they've all been that way. Does anyone happen to have some screenshots of any of the promos for male/female launches?

    Men’s content doesn’t sell for a variety of reason most of which I won’t go into here, but needless to say there is very little marketing done to communities interested in rendering men and the store powers that be seem content catering to the pinup and bikinigirl market which is the core base buyer here. That entails far less risk than researching new venues and producing content which won’t sell to their existing buyer base.

    the core base buyer buys exclusively young white women so that’s the market which is catered to.

    to change that, new buyers need to be targeted and new audiences explored. It gets a bit chicken and egg because your not going to bring in audiences interested in rendering men by selling kaylee 8. So the existing status quo will always be maintained.

    BadKittehCo said that the product was number one for a while but that they only made about $1100 from it after the commissions where taken out. I would have thought more game maker hobbyists would be buying from DAZ Store but apparently DAZ products are priced out of that market, which is mostly teenage boys you'd guess. If I were doing a comic book or comic book style game with superheros that fits right in with past styles from that niche.

    Well I think DAZ has most customers that fit fashion industry industry as major customers and DAZ sales and products sort of reflect that.

    As far are the Mitchell vs Gaussian filter goes I read in the AMD Radeon ProRenderer for Blender documentation that the Mitchell filter is definately sharper than the Gaussian filter. In DAZ Studio, since I like that sharp look, lately I've been setting my renders to use the Mitchell filter with a radius of 1.0. My renders seem to be getting done much faster too but than is mostly because I now render at FHD instead of 4K UHD.

    That just makes me sad.  Its really a beautiful set of armor.  Hopefully, it will at least continue to generate some revenue for her as time goes by.

    I don’t see fashion industry at all being the target audiences. If that were true there would be less focus on voluptuous figures and more focus on clothing and draping which is weak here. I do see mature art makers as being the focus though.

    To me 1100 is good money. I would be happy to make something like that from a project. Especially knowing there would be more sales throughout the year. I realize that isn’t enough money to live on but it’s nice hobby income and certainly more than many artists make when they sell their work.

    Sure, but I don’t actually ever expect to make a living doing art since it’s very rare to be able to do so. It’s a nice side income as I said.

    I often am grateful for the courage PAs exhibit in tackling this as a full time job. The stress has to be unbelievable, going from month to month. I have half her store, I don't buy  barbarians or battle outfits or unique items like ragnorak masks, but it says a lot that Badkitteh takes those kinds of risks to offer unusual items. I remember the Calyphlox Codex was a huge hit, with 42 gallery images. So talented!

    This top looks very versatile.  I could use this in both modern and fantasy renders.  ( I did buy the pro bundle, but the main incentive was the 3 free bundles, I have had my eye on the two demon bundles for months, and I also picked up the Elven bundle.  I got two of Dm's sets with those as well as clothing and hair that I  will actually use.  And I really like the black skin in the male bundle.  Its the only really black skin I've seen most of the fantasy skin is dark purple, dark red, green or blue.  This is a true black.  Really nice looking.) So for $62 and some change I got three pro bundles, a character and environment bundle and some good fantasy and medieval outfits as well as hair, which one can never have enough of.  I'm quite happy with that deal but if they offer the free pro bundles again, I don't think I will be able to take advantage as I now have all the character bundles that I had wishlisted.  Everything else is either nothing I will really use or, I already own most if not all of what is in the bundle.

    @IceDragonArt, that looks fantastic! I love that armour BadKittehCo did - it's fabulous!!!! I haven't tried fitting it to G8F as yet, I want to try that soon, as my G8F's desperately need some wicked armour!

    Had SO much fun with it. I have G8M base only, so I used Raoul for G3M skin on him, and then just bodybuilder morph (from the base G8M as I don't have the body morphs package).
