Using Shape Splitter,  you can possibly separate the head and body shapes of Hell Princess. It's in the Daz Deal plugin Forum reference on the product page. I don't normally surf those but found that reference interesting. I'm going to kick myself if that was in the resources section yesterday and could have gotten it for a few dollars. Hell Princess is in Fast Grab.

I have Shape Splitter. I don't think I've ever used it. I have too much stuff.

I've wishlisted it. I never noticed it until I read that forum reference. I have too much stuff too.

BTW if anyone picked up Chandler yesterday, you'll be glad you did for the materials. Nice thick brows, not lawn mowered fiber mesh ones. And if you change up her morphs, she can look very exotic. Doing a couple renders now.  Also, if you grabbed Jepe's Cinematic5 Props And Poses, I'm going to show you a fun combination with another product. Coming up soon in this thread. Tonight is playtime!  If anyone wants to jump in, show some interesting background props products you like/ would recommend. We've never showcased that aspect before.

Oh yeah, me too!  I'm closing in on 5000 products per the count via the DIM, and whenever I'm creating a scene, I have to look through all the product images of whatever category of thing I'm needing to be able to review what I have and which particular item "fits" the scene and my intents, and boy, that review/audition process takes waay more time than actually building and rendering the scene.

For that BYO flash grab I bought 3 things I've been particularly wanting to get lately:

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-male-mega-wardrobe

    https://www.daz3d.com/lie-face-bruises-for-genesis-3-and-8

    https://www.daz3d.com/the-mystic-grotto

So, yaay!  Now I just have 3,934 items on my WishList. ;)

X-Fashion Forever Bodysuit (G8F)      Nesena Hair (G3F/G8F)       Jepes Cinematic5 Props And Poses (M8)        JP Doris Curtain Poses/Props (V8)

So this took most of the afternoon, playing. I got Chandler yesterday during that stack up sale for $4.85 due to the materials. I got that bodysuit for $2.69 last Saturday and the Cinematic 5 product for $5.99  The Doris Curtain was 1.69 (in the 1.99 section with additional discount.)  I just shake my head when people say they aren't finding anything in sales that they can use. So many things can be changed up and not "out of the box" restricted.  If you don't like a character's looks, look at the materials and see if that's worth the price. Or just change up the looks with morphs.

I liked the thick brows that aren't chopped across the bottom and look more natural than the fiber mesh. I wondered how she'd do as a Noridc/Native American cross with the nose, larger eyes with a bit of a tilt, and the entire mouth overhauled. I also find it too gooey for my personal tastes, so I reduced the glossy and increased the bump, added a bit of metallicity.

Something interesting, when I tried to apply Chandler's head morphs back onto the figure which I had changed, nothing happened. (I had Chandler selected, it should have worked.)  I tried it from the Folder in Content Library and the entire body/head by applying the Character from the avatar section.

TIP:   For the background- I first loaded a JP Doris Curtain, the vertical one with straight vertical folds.  I found when I held CTRL to add a gradient material (not shader) it made funky squares when I selected "Ignore."    Then you use the Cinematic5  prop in FRONT of the Doris Curtain, and reduce the Cinematic5 opacity so the Doris Curtain can be seen behind it. Voila, you have a cool background. There's so many geometric patterns and materials between the two products, you get a lot of opportunities!

So try the Doris Curtain and Cinematic5 together if you have them.  Be aware your lighting will create glare, depending on what you use and where the props are in relationship to the lights.

Here's what I'm testing-  Click N Render, currently 80% off. It's PC+.  Below you can see how the lighting really changes up the appearance of the props in the background. Just mouse over each one and it will tell you the number of the light used. I'm not putting all those in a post, it's easy to see them side by side below.

This first render was another version of my Chandler, then I did more tweaking.  I used DOF for the background too.  I love how those two products work together- the Doris Curtain and the Cinematic5 !

Original on your left, my tweaked Chandler on the right. A couple things I did-

Made the lower face a tad bit longer.
Brought both lips in a bit on the depth, they really stuck out.
Reduced volume on both lips too.
    Slanted the eyes.
Made more of an upper eyelid.
    Lowered the nose.
    Slanted the eyes.
Removed a lot of the nose bump.
More nose wings and lowered the tip of the nose.
Widened the mouth. I like my mouth corners to come to the pupil of the eye.
Deepened the philtrum and made the peak space wider.
Widened the eyes, further apart. Also enlarged the eyes.
    Widened nose bridge.
Changed all the curves on the inside of the lip (where the lips meet. Both inner (toward corners) and middle)

If you're shopping today, hopefully you've figured out how to get 60% off the new releases. You do need two of them.  Next, remember there are freebies in the Select Daz Original Group from yesterday which will meet the requirement for part of the price drop, just uncheck Hide What I Own.  Then apply your banner of It Pays To Be PC+ member, and voila. Special thanks to Charlie for the tip.  And remember to grab your two free items from today. (LOL there weren't even two there that I don't already own, just one pathetic V4 item.)

Put two of today's new releases in your cart to get the extra 20% off. Then add a Select DAZ Original as per yesterday's Black OPs sale to get another 20% off. The result is 55% off today's new releases.. Now apply the 'It Pays to Be A PC+ Member' purple banner coupon to bring the discount on the new releases to 60%.  Also there are some free items in the Select DAZ Original group that work.

Going through my PC $1.99 for-a-day sale items.  Here's how Sahana G8F looks without makeup, dialed head down to 50% as the lip morph was too extreme for my taste.

ETA: funny, I chose the exact same hair that is being used on the promos, without knowing it.

The new releases for today should go 60% off, correct. Which is really good for new releases :)   You got it right.   @barbult  You're welcome, though of course someone else pointed it out to me too LOL. I figured since it was already afternoon I'd point it out as I simply don't have time to PM people much anymore. I'm out walking and getting my miles in, before it gets dark before 5pm This sucks! I hate when the time changes.

I did get an Inspire HR Fitbit and will share some information about it later tonight. I feel really good- I got a gal walking for the first time in years, and she cranked out 37 minutes on a treadmill  (all at once) while at a wedding this weekend! That's determination. Man, when I started out walking, I was good doing 20 minutes at a time LOL. A lot of the places are going to have the Fitbit Inspire HR for 70.00 instead of 100, I saw an ad and I think it was Walmart, for Thanksgiving week. Okay, out the door for awhile. It's 68 degrees right now, so definitely going to be outside. If anyone has questions about getting the discount, hopefully barbult or someone can coach you through it?

I like it dialed down, agree with you. Her skin is pretty, and the eyebrows appear natural looking. Nicely lit, too!

The lights are from one of Colm's Pro Studio HDR sets (add-ons to Render Studio), they all have individual HDRI/backgrounds which make them very versatile.

Guess why I'm outside walking?  UNBELIEVABLE weather today in Pensacola!

I'm running in and out of the house to watch the CBS  NFL game. We (my sister and I) are texting. Hard to root for a team, we're from Indianapolis so Go Colts!  but are Southerner (Mom from Pensacola and we've lived back down in the South for a long time. My sister been in Jacksonville 40 years.)  So she's rooting for Jacksonville, who is down 3 touchdowns I think. Ugh.

So have you exercised today? This is your Fitness Teleprompter LOL  "Get Away From The Computer And Walk 5 Minutes...."

Seriously!!!!!   laugh  My sister texted "How are you out in a tank top? It's 57 degrees here."  So this weather is moving east and Jacksonville will get it tomorrow or the next day.

Ouch. Jacksonville is not faring well. 31-7 Colts favor. I'm going back outside  to walk!

  • 80 and sunny with hardly a breeze here in Harlingen, Tex.

It is -1ºC/30ºF here, no wind so feels quite pleasant, it's dark though :)

Well, Jacksonville lost. Now Eagles vs Patriots. Go Eagles!  (Not doing so well still trailing...)

Dance of the Veils 2 (V8)       Genna (Teen Jane 8)        Short Wet Hair (G8M/F)       dForce Kakenda Outfit (G8F)

I tried Dance of the Veils, didn't really understand how it worked. But there are poses, then there's numerous veils which go with them. Then you can scale, translate them in to place based on the size of your character. It's an interesting concept. I was playing with a couple products and threw them together.

I really don't like the shoes with Kakenda. It has a line that separates the toes and I think it makes it look like it's an error. You know, like when you put the shoes of one generation on another one.

The veils have different material zones for the front and back, which is nice.

Reminder- Short Wet Hair also has a wet geoshell for the character's body. I added it just for fun (it makes no sense for her to be wet LOL)

I was born and lived in downtown Chicago until I was almost 8 so we had plenty of professional & school teams there although I didn't pay any attention to any of that sports stuff although my dad would gather up a van full of neighborhood kids to go watch the White Sox play. I remember being in the Comiskey Park Stands and even then I remember the stadium poles supporting the upper decks getting in the way of my view of the field. It was always a night game and baseball fields lit up at night are surprising pretty, even to a 3 or 4 year old.  As we were in downtown Chicago the Chicago Cubs were too far away in north Chicago while the old Comiskey Park was not that far. I don't even know where the new Comiskey Park is!

Couple years later and in Jacksonville, Florida and back then it had no professional sports teams and it was a very small city then although the Woodland Acres area was very nice it was more suburb than city really. I was very surprised when Jacksonville, Florida, Tampa Bay, and Orlando, Florida all wound up with pro sports franchises of one type or another. The only sports team I remember from Jacksonville was the Sandalwood Saints and the only one from Orlando was the Walker Vikings. My friends and I would walk and ride bikes for miles and miles on the road shoulders as traffic on the roads was not near as constant then as now in Jacksonville & Orlando (even here in the 11K town I live in). That's a huge change in miles drive per vehicle now as compared to back then.

Our weather in the Central Appalachians is cloudy, cool at 49F, and occasionally rainy but oddly enough that is weather I really like. In this area between 35F and 55F, with clouds and occasional light rain is what it will be from usually mid-October to mid-March with one or two Indian Summers and one or two Snow Storms thrown in for good measure.

By the way, the Marvelous Designer Holiday/Black Friday sale has already begun and runs until 31 Dec 2019. And the sales price price is a hefty $100 more than last year. I guess they feel confident that if you really want Marvelous Designer but can't justify $490 you'll still buy for $340 instead of $240. I'm not so sure because my PC I have now wasn't fast enough to do the MD tutorials. I'll have me new PC build by next year and will try the tutorial again and see if it's something I might buy.

My son is having problems with his computer running hot, so he and my hubby installed a Corsair H60  High Performance 120 MM Liquid CPU Cooler. Anyone have experience with installing and getting the message:    CPU FanFailure  when the computer is booted up?

  • Is the fan for it working and connected to to the correct header for the bios to see it?

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

Apparently the prong end isn't the same as the Alienware51 so that may be the issue.

If it's any consolation, the upgrade price doesn't get a discount for Black Friday.
    sad

But it is 75% off MD9 if you own MD8.

The fan runs. There's a 3 prong plug but no 3 prong insertion thing on the motherboard.
