spuddy - looks very nice, a bit like spheres in a cave.

Two identical terrains, one upside down on top of the other with different materials for the upper and lower terrain. Each lamp consists of three radials, two of them with different IES gobo to shape the beam, and an HDRI with only 60% shadow intensity to brighten the black shadows. This setup creates two different tunnels, the first has the camera to look into the left, the second into the right tunnel.

    Mermaid010, Horo, Rieke77, spuddy, santi010, Tim82: Thanks very much.

Spuddy: Nice abstract, with very nice texture in the background

Horo: Interesting way of creating good looking tunnels.

One advantage of an abstract is that a few changes, e.g. to the distorted lens and the sky, can give a totally different render. I also changed the human figure, for 'policy reasons'. I think, in the second render, I could have given her a different texture for the dress, but forgot about that.

In the first one, I turned the lens around 180 degrees. In the second one 90 degrees and made it linger in the (new) y direction.

Hansmar : three very cool renders, I like them all.

spuddy : agreed, looks like spheres in a cave.

    Horo : Great spooky tunnels.

3 same canyon terrains based on downloaded height maps. The castle was also a free item.

mermaid and Tim82 - thank you.

Hansmar - thank you. Again very cool looking abstracts through your specual lens.

adbc - thank you. Great terraced landscape with the castle that blends perfectly into the surroundings.

Same as above but both tunnels as seen through a wide-angle fisheye lens, 150° horizontal and 100° vertical. A tiny bit of the terrains had to be removed in the TE and the camera re-positioned.

mermaid and adbc - thank you.

The shapes are from the Hypertextures Base set and have a hypertexture material. Inside each one is a smaller copy with some reflection and transparency with a high refractive index. Lit by an HDRI that also comes with the Hypertextures set. The inside shapes create the dark shadows, the outer shapes the bright anti-shadow.

    Hello dear Bryce friends,
this is my first attempt at an underwater scenery.
The corals in the foreground are trees. These I made after an tutorial from Horo.

Adbc, mermaid010, Horo, Rieke77, spuddy: Thanks.

Horo: nice lighting on those forms.

Spuddy: good work to use these strange colours for a tree object.

    Mermaid010: nice terrain, good mood.

Rieke77: Very nice underwater render. Corals work very well.

A quick new abstract. I made another strange lens-item to go in front of a red cylinder. There is a radial light behind the cylinder and the whole scene is in a reflecting sphere. Rendering premium with true ambience and soft shadows (though those are not very visible in this scene). I modified a pre-made sky a bit to get the colours I wanted. It looks like part of a jet engine or so.

spuddy, you have two abstract things. I don’t even know which one is better!
