I have tried both bump and displacement on the energy field and that sucker isn't budging. I mean 100% and upping the positive and negative on both. I wanted to see how that energy field would look. Must be doing something wrong.
Well, looking at the product page's included features, the different shapes the energy field can take are created either by morphs or three different meshes, not bump or displacement settings. I'd check for either of those two possibilities.

    Hi Tramp-
Yeah, I was just playing. I tried substituting in some other images I had used for other projects and nada, no displacement, so knew it was just me.

SereneNight- looking forward to seeing your render.

    An funny one :-)

I found an funny Dodo, it’s an older one.

Sasje that is just so cute! Love the low perspective.

I can't resist 3DUniverse products either. I bought one and all hope was lost for me.

And Sunehri with the tattoo option and back with Thalia Hair.

Wow. I'm not easily won over by a pretty face, and goodness knows there are more than a few of them in the store, but I have to say your Sunehri is gorgeous! The Thalia hair suits her perfectly. I didn't need any more G2F characters but might have to make an exception for this one.

Well that was interesting. I posted and it totally disappeared when I hit Submit post. So here tis again. I am testing Lilith with different skin materials.

I want to see how the different skins light, so am NOT changing the lights even if some appear dark. That will help me know who I need to adjust the lights for (and you too.) It's the exact same lighting I used on Sunehri.

I'll add as I go, only doing a couple then getting some sleep, will add more tomorrow. They may go out of order but I'm identifying the skin materials on each so it doesn't matter. We'll start with Saskia, Cassia is rendering.

    EDIT:
Okay, done. Decided to get them finished as looks like we have major storms headed this way and I don't post during lightning, etc. So you have a wide variety of skin tones shown. :) Bye for now!

Road To Drengallen (Predatron) (Lights Plus Mine)
    FW Sassafrat (FW Art) (Materials)
    Lilith 6 (DAZ3D) (Character)
Callidora Outfit (DAZ3D / Demonica Evilius / Silver)
    The Enchanted Forest (Stonemason)

    http://www.daz3d.com/the-enchanted-forest

Again, using Lilith as the base figure and changed the skin to FW Sassafrat. I had to use the morphs to put in an expression and raise the bottom eyelids, and lower the top ones so I didn't have the typical deer in headlights/zombie look. (or a zombie deer in the headlights.)

I find the Callidora outfit very useful- it can be for fairy type renders, fantasy, and perhaps ancient renders- it's a versatile outfit. If you only do bust shots, no one would know it was a short skirt.

EDIT: LOL, that log looks like it has shark teeth! Click to enlarge and click again. Or it's a Venus Fly Trap plant! Yes, it even has a bottom row of "teeth."

The Fairy Fae Hair renders weird- seems more cartoony than anything else. This took almost five hours to render.

BTW, if anyone is looking at PagePlus X8, it's 50% off on the Serif (dot com) site. It does epubs. (I haven't tried it) The sale is today and tomorrow, then it drops 10% each day.

Oooh, I like that outfit- I had bypassed that due to the neckline but yours appears to be a bit more modest. Still can't use it for my children's book, but it does look very appealing.

I don't have Elegance Hair, thanks for rendering that one. It's a DO so I can use my punch rewards to get it. :) Very timely render!

I swear, people posting on this thread have been my downfall. First Sasje gets me to buy Rawr etc then you provoke me with Elegance Hair. The only thing that makes me feel better is that I have returned the favor over the past two years....wicked cackle. I just need to figure out what you two don't have and engage in a render payback.

DANG IT. I have been very, very good at shopping right away when new items come out, then waiting all day to see if a code or discount comes up in the scrolling banner. Maybe I should check my EMAIL before I check out. Hint- have you checked yours?

Additional 10% off good until this Thursday. Not on gift card- that's the only exclusion listed, but of course, should exclude memberships. (Doesn't say one time use, but it is, of course.) So includes new items. Want Reality? That's included as it is a featured one in the email.
    Code: 10-MORE.

    You're welcome :)

BTW, think about it. If you're close to a punch level, it might behoove you (what a weird expression!) to get to the next level THEN use that code. I had 3 punches carried over so am already working on the second tier, but with this additional 10%, I might go ahead and get through the second tier so I'll get 30% off the 50% (instead of 20%) and not even have to get to tier 3. (Which would frankly be impossible as I don't use Fiend, and we lost a day of earning punches this week.)

All the stores from this week will be on sale again Sunday I assume? But if you want the 50% off the new items, you have to use it now. Geez, these things can get bothersome trying to figure out the best use of codes. And of course, we have the new PC/PC+ codes for October too. I'm saving those for the PC sale the latter part of the month. My head hurts, lol

OT- this is insane! Paypal is changing their policies on merchandise disputes to this:

We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days.

If you have an online store, that is going to be horrible. And totally unreasonable. My goodness, if it takes you that long to notice your merchandise isn't as described, you shouldn't be shopping in the first place! I think 60 days is more than reasonable. But SIX MONTHS?
Just got it in an email, kicks in November 18th.

EDIT: And even for overseas shipping, SIX MONTHS?

Testing Sunehri on Lilith with Hikari Hair (which I have never used.) First impressions: Hair is at 9% in under a minute. Will post here when it is done (using same lights as Sassafras, let's see how they do.)
Edit: starting over as I had to adjust the lights for a green Sassafras. I'll go test a different lightset.

May I suggest the lights from the FW Oliver HD Megapack? They have become my new favorite character lights.

Here is an image I just finished playing with. Excuse the empty background. I was just trying out some of my GenX2 morphs moved from Genesis to G2F. This one is a mix of several Genesis morphs, including a small bit of Mavka. The skin is G2F basic female skin I guess, because that is the character I loaded to start morphing. I used the Oliver lights without modification.

@Novica: The TOA rider outfit is really cool. Lots of options, and has both a sci-fi fantasy flair. You can recolor as well. Yes the neckline plunges a bit. But a modesty panel or other outfit might be used underneath to make it more family-friendly.

Elegance hair renders well, and looks quite well on different characters.

I Think you'll be pleased with both items.

@Barbult thanks for showing those lights. They look nice. I wish I picked up the character when on sale. He is a bit out of my Priceline right now at nearly 25 dollars. But maybe when he goes on sale I'll pick him up. I kind of regret not getting the hair. I could use a short hairstyle like that. =-)

LOL- great minds think alike- there are four items on my wishlist and that was one of them. I had to wishlist because it was a choice of that or the train stuff that just came out, and I had been thinking about a train station and all the interior train products, the station, etc all hit at the right time. I'll definitely keep the lights in mind- thanks so much!

Here's Sunehri on Lilith with Aaron lights plus a distant on our left side, front, and putting the UE2 at 72.2% (I think I raised it due to her darker materials.) This dress is um, more like a top. :)
Take a look at what Stephanie 6 is wearing in her main promo!

    Dazzle For Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ3D / 3DLust)
    http://www.daz3d.com/dazzle-for-genesis-2-female-s

I couldn't pass up the outfit though, as I LOVE the bottom ruffles. It's made from 3DLust so of course it's barely there. My daughter would never make it out the door in that outfit, if I had a daughter! (Yep- sons...GOOD!) Will use with pants or leggings.

Here's a closeup of the same girl with the Oliver lights. I hope you both have a chance to get him on sale some time soon.
    She is dialed as follows:
    G2F base
    Genesis 100% (for GenX morphs)
    Riley 30%
    Victoria 5 50%
    Mavka 20%
    Eye size -64%

    I likeee!
Some of these products come with great lightsets. I'm in the habit now of looking to see what's included and lights are definitely a plus. It's also nice to see the vendors include the promo lights (and when vendors identify them as such, it helps the sales I think.)

I'm doing the Dazzle outfit with the purple. I want to see what it looks like.

@Novica: I really like the DAZZLE dress, and your renders of it. I actually find it fairly modest comparatively. I also like the way those folds look. 3dLust did a good job with it. It doesn't look like dough, but real fabric.

@Barbult: Thanks for showing us those lights again. I will indeed pick up this character. Just as soon as my budget allows. =-)

BTW, if you folks haven't seen the fantastic brush effects that SereneNight did over in her Art Studio thread, go take a peek. I got some of the brushes but haven't played with them yet. Her renders look soooooo good!

It is quite loaded, isn't it?! And I had looked at the building behind it, the interior has a lot of stuff too.

Somerset Lodge & Somerset Valley finally got off my wishlist and bought, I'll have to play and see what they look like. I want to try to drop the house and see if it can be made into a lower leveled home. :)

I was trying really hard to stop spending money on the PA sale. But I couldn't resist Master Chen, who had been sitting on my wishlist for a while. I got him today for 50% +10% off, so $6.74. He is a really good model of an older Asian man with a very nice texture. He doesn't have to be used as a martial arts master and looks friendly enough with smile. The hair gives him a different look too. Only thing I didn't like was the eyes had no highlight or reflection. Usually theG2s have too much highlight. So I used Actual Eyes 4, which I bought a while back but had never used before. I used the Rendersphere with no effects or lights turned on, just wanted a quick background. Used AoA Ambient and one AoA distant.

Nicely done Luci45! I like his smile. I find some characters difficult to give expressions... But his looks good. And the actual eyes ads a nice look to his eye surface.

That does look good Luci! He's a great character, and that hair suits him perfectly. The eyes do look good. Reflections make a big difference.

With the arrival the new Prince of Sands figure in the store, I wanted to render some of the Asian figures in my runtime.. (Grin).

Here on the left is Kasper for Lee 6, (Raiya) http://www.daz3d.com/kasper-for-lee-6
He is wearing the top half of the Yakuza Outfit for Genesis 2 Male(s) (DAZ 3D,Sarsa, Mada) http://www.daz3d.com/yakuza-outfit-for-genesis-2-male-s
Pants are from: Casual T-shirt and Pants for Genesis 2 Males(Trendy Renders) 2 Males http://www.daz3d.com/casual-t-shirt-and-pants-for-genesis-2-male-s
    Zior Hair (AprilYSH) http://www.daz3d.com/zior-hair

on the Right is Yasuo for Lee 6 (DAZ 3D, Countess,Silver ) http://www.daz3d.com/yasuo-for-lee-6
He is wearing: Berlin City Spirit Fashion for Genesis 2 Males (Outoftouch) http://www.daz3d.com/berlin-city-spirit-fashion-for-genesis-2-male-s
And a texture from: Berlin City Sprit Xpansion (http://www.daz3d.com/berlin-city-spirit-fashion-for-genesis-2-male-s)
Hair is: Kami Hair (DAZ 3D, Valea) http://www.daz3d.com/kami-hair

The Yakuza outfit jacket and shirt and jewelry is very nice. It is a convincing set of modern day clothing. The pants aren't to my taste. I prefer more of a loose fit.. . Zior hair renders beautifully, and I selected a pale shade of white for Kasper, as his coloring is very pale.

Yasuo has eyebrows Novica will like and a realistic facial features. I of course really like the Berlin City Spirit set. Nice shape to the pants, cool styling of the sweater/top.

Edited: I have added a second more close-up render of Kasper

EDIT: It's apparently still being offered as it's 3:25am :)

LOL, the first thing I noticed. :) I haven't seen a render of him (that I recall.)
I have to agree with you about the pants. So many of these lately are looking rather painted on. A few that I liked which had some folds in the lower leg region had too much of a skinny look at the ankles which ruined the entire thing for me. It's good there's a variety though so characters won't be wearing the same style and it will appeal to other artists.

Some really weird critters in today's sale. I really laughed at that promo where the woman was looking in the pod and unfortunately that didn't work so well for the person in the background. Very clever!
