Yes, Dreamweaver is a bit of overkill for building ebooks, but better too much power and choice of tools than too little in my opinion. But most important is the clean code, so definitely you chose well in that respect.

I wrote the blog post for you to put on your site, since you asked for a guest post, but I can post it up on mine if you don't want to. Don't know it it's anything your readers would be interested in, but feel free to post it if you want, or not. I'm still up for answering interview questions if and when you get around to that. Believe me, I totally understand about being pulled in a thousand directions and having too many threads to follow all at once!

Why don't you do a copy/paste here and your blog, or just your blog, with a link here to it? It's your work :) I know everyone would be interested in reading it. Do whatever you'd like.

I really liked the hair in that image that looks a bit like Jaqueline Bisset, Innocent hair, so went look it up and realized I bought it back in May. Downloading now.

Okay, here's the link to the post on my blog, in case anyone wants to read it:

Why I Don't Use eBook Creation Apps

It's a bit of a follow up on the topic we were discussing the other day regarding ebook creation, if anybody here is still interested in the subject. It also has links to my in depth reviews of Amazon's two ebook creation apps, in case you want more information about those.

It's a fun hair, isn't it? :) Are we going to see it in some promos LOL?

Scot- thanks for the link. It will be helpful to folks exploring their options.

I like your latest batch of ladies, Novica.

By the way just a HU to anyone reading this thread: the $10 off DO's if you spend $20+ if you bought one of the Ballerina/Atticus/whatever bundles appears to be back - I just added the 4 DO's from today's releases to my cart and was surprised to see all 4 for only $3.52 in my cart (I was expecting $13.52) - I only put them in the cart while I had a think about whether I could justify the outlay to get a bigger % off anything else in catchup this weekend (if it happens) and a bigger coupon for next week, but at that price I decided to go ahead for sure!

    Thank you Melanie!
I think that special went off at midnight DAZ time? I wasn't online this evening so missed it.

Added this in the References section. You folks might want to occasionally check that to see what's new. (Go to the beginning of the thread, the link to References is always at the beginning of the new thread.)

Thanks for the tip Melanie. Just bought paradise bird hair and a couple of pc items, so it is still working. Last night I bought three of Utilize's DOs.

    LY Locklyn (Lyoness)
    Short Ponytail (DAZ3D / Valea)
    Retro Swimsuit for Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ3D / Sarsa / Xena)
Retro Swimsuit for Genesis 2 Female(s) Textures (DAZ3D / Sarsa)
Casual Sexy Poses for Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ 3D/ Elliandra)

Continuing with Lyoness, although the main promo shows eye liner, Locklyn has other makeup options for the natural approach. I really like her- easy to light. I DID add one distant light front, and it's a dull mauve at 20%. She has nice makeup options, so give her a peek while she's on sale today.

Short ponytail, Locklyn, and the swimsuit all rendered in quite a nice time. So this is one hair you can use rather fast. Shading rate on all these is .30 and there are quite a few lights.

    Lyoness' Store: http://www.daz3d.com/lyoness
I am purchasing Brynn, Alysanne, Mikaella to see how I like those. Mikaella is the iffy one IMO. But some of these look totally different than the promos IMO (I didn't anticipate a J. Bisset render) so while they are on sale and I'm tier 3, I'm going to try them.

FYI: Yep, that buy $20 of DOs and get $10 off works again..
I had missed the sweater dress because I forgot to check out before I went offline yesterday afternoon. So now I can get it for $6.41
Two of the things I got were:

COMING UP: Another Locklyn, as a blonde/blue eyes, and full length. Will be using Delicate Poses Giselle 6. Very flirty, fun poses

BTW, don't forget you can also use your PC/+ code for the DO's (even new releases) and get an additional $6 off in combination with the $10 off the $20 purchase. This is ridiculous- in a nice way.

For me, it ended up the Sweater Dress Textures were .66, the two new release textures were .15 each, the Cold medicine product was $4.71, the Sweater Dress was $4.39. Geez.

Remember to use your DO Punch rewards before the clock ticks over to Monday DAZ time- you'll lose your punch rewards from last week.
And this next week, we only have two days to use the rewards unless they give us all week- as PC starts Wednesday. I don't see how they could overlap the two?

So today, you might want to be going through your DAZ originals to see what you don't have. (If you're PC and haven't visited the members' forum lately, you need to. Not trying to be rude/cryptic, but posts there are for members only- just say there's a way to have products identified for you that you already own, soon available to everyone. Yeah, DAZ soon, but it's a start.)

And Locklyn as a blonde with blue eyes. She's quite versatile. I did not smooth the ponytail hair, it's out of the box.

    LY Presley (Lyoness)
    Dream Hair (DAZ3D)
Bluemoon Poses for Stephanie 6 (DAZ3D / Muscleman)
    Frosty Dress for Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ 3D / Karth / Shox-Design)

The eyes are amazing. Wonderful options. You get really nice makeup options and its neat- the eye makeup and nails are coordinated in a one click setup. Be aware to get glossy lips you go to Surface tool, click the lips, THEN apply the lip glossy option.

The hair has really nice morphs, you can lift it off the chest, shorten it, widen the ends, and really customize it. I also took off the parameter limits and lowered the hairline- no problem. Front full, top full, back full, shorten the front, bangs in and out, etc. A good variety of hair color options too.

I LOVE the Bluemoon poses, they have a lot of common moves / seated / standing variety.

The Frosty Dress looks like some minor adjustments should be made to the bust area (seems jagged underneath.) Reducing the character's bust should fix it.

@Novica: yeah, those blue moon poses I tend to use a lot. Stephanie's poses seem more natural than some of V6's poses. I like the snowball dress with that texture.

I'm curious if they'll release a new item like they've done: Ballerina Bundle, Prince of Sands etc. For us to spend our coupons on. Hopefully we'll have the whole week to use it. Would be tough to only have a few days.

At present, I'm short on DAZ originals I need, and I rarely buy them unless they are on sale.

I do like the outfit overall but dislike the zippers, and there's no material zone to hide it. (The skirt has one too.)

Oh wow, just two days to use the rewards. I'm getting stuff I probably won't use very soon, am at that point. Some outfits I would like a different style of pants (Not tucked into the shoes-and I like more bulk but that's just my preference. (Vault Rustler is one of my favorite outfits of all times)

When you say "just two days" - do you mean the $10/$20/$30-off coupons for Week 6? Because mine says it's valid till 11:59 pm MDT on October 19th (that's Sunday)
Re the zippers - they only seem to be on that one texture version - can you do anything to "improve" the texture with an image editor and a clone stamp? :)

I don't THINK I am going crazy, but I might be. That popup banner stating the rewards either stated Tuesday's date, or I read a post somewhere. So..do I get stuff at 50% off or hope something worthwhile comes up for the PC sale...

So far as the zippers, you lost me with the clone stamp.

I'm in a similar quandary: do I buy a couple of "minor" bundles now (there are a few I didn't pick up new - Atticus, Prince of Sands, ...) or hang on in the hope that I might get something I'd like more in the first few days of the PC sale.

Re clone stamp - most image editors let you copy part of the image to another part with a "Clone stamp" so you could copy an area of the sleeve without the zipper over the bit with it to wipe it out (you'd need to do the same on any bump, displacement and specular maps) - I guess you're not a keen post-worker of renders? (Or maybe your image editor calls it something else, I'm used to Photoshop terminology)

By the way, that sale related thing I sent you the PM about recently is relevant again during the catchup sale. :-)

The thing that related to PC but not the PC+ folks- right? (I had to delete PMs)
Melanie- yep, I have Photoshop, just haven't had time to really use it so I forgot everything I read. I dove into Silo now ZBrush so I'm dabbling here and there. I could actually manually doodle it out :) with Corel Photo Paint too. It's just annoying that the zipper isn't an option, and of course on my favorite material!

I think I'll wait for the PC sale because I really spent too much money so the punch reward will allow me to get some things that I would have to pass on. This feels like the t.v. show "Let's Make A Deal." Do you want to use the envelope with money on the small box, or Door Number One? The small box is guaranteed 50% off (the PA sale) but Door Number One is the PC Club products. Guess I'll go for Door Number One. If there isn't anything DO that I want, I can always get the DO's from the PA sale at 30% and just get fewer. They will ALWAYS be back on sale. :)

Wow, bad storms across the United States. Everyone keep their weather radio on tonight- nine tornadoes in the past hour (Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi...now Alabama looking busy and it's coming this way.)

Nice freebie- (or get with purchase)

Thanks to the vendor ARTCollab for this freebie- it's awesome. You get a lot with it, too :)

BTW, a tornado touched down about twelve minutes away, on the interstate, shortly after midnight. That must have been scary for drivers- it was literally following the interstate (Interstate 10, a major thoroughfare.) After dark tornadoes are even scarier than ones you can see. No injuries. You folks on the East coast are get sacked today by the same system.

Let the games begin. :) PC sale! Now we have to stop thinking punches and be on the ball to catch what's free and what's promoted.

First up, the free: $129.95 overall value. I didn't have about five of those (that club with the gold and black. Not my style. Closeups might work with the black curtain, but overall it just didn't appeal to me at all.)

    Also free:

who looks VERY much like http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/fw-lara-hd except her mouth is wider (and a few other tweaks.) They are both using the same or similar hair in the promos. I only noticed it because Lara came up in the side menu.

And a new vendor? Phantasmagorical Scenes. What a lot of work went into that one Steampunk product!

No wonder the resemblance. Look at the error I got when trying to apply one of the material settings:
