Sold! I mostly want it for Genesis but the fact that it goes on G2F so well is a welcome bonus. I'm sure the $3.59 will be well spent. Thanks very much for doing this. I've been rendering my new Victorian Shops.

Have you gotten any of the shops done? Would love to see. I haven't rendered those.

Yes, done before bed and pleased with how they are looking so far. You're probably sleeping now but I'll post them shortly.

    The Victorian Street Front http://www.daz3d.com/winter-holiday-99-cent-sale/victorian-street-front
and The Shoppes for Victorian Street Front http://www.daz3d.com/winter-holiday-99-cent-sale/the-shoppes-for-victorian-street

Right now these are in the 99 cent sale.

When you first load the Victorian Street Front you might be disappointed, simply because this is an old product and the textures look a little tired now. The models themselves are good though, so it's just a matter of doing some re-texturing if the default look bothers you.

The easiest way to do this is of course to use Moyra's The Shoppes product, which has some lovely texture work.

You can also mix in some other textures for more variety, and can keep some of the original texture options too, as I did. I used Pimp My Prop (http://www.daz3d.com/pimp-my-prop). This has a lot of choices, some of which are better than others for seamless repeated tiling.

It's simple to get a whole street by loading the preset twice and rotating one around the y axis. The lamplight is something I added myself to the lamp and lantern props and needs a little more work.

@Jindi - those shops are looking rather nice - good work (I had them in RRRR a couple of contests ago and got that sinking unimpressed feeling at the elderly textures)
@Novica - well you finally sold me on that Anemone hair - picked it up at last! (I generally like 3Dream/Mairy hair but the "Little One" requirement had been putting me off too)

    Sure! Feel free.

Jindi- those are absolutely stunning. Just as good as any promo I've seen. Beautiful lighting and setup- clever!

Thanks Melanie and Novica. I've saved it as a scene file just so as to have an instant street when I need one. The row on the right is Moyra's textures, the one on the left is a combination of the original set, Moyra's Shoppes and Pimp My Prop.

Looking forward to seeing Fishtales' render.

I also note we have a new Bald Wizard in our midst. :) Congratulations!

Here are two earlier ones. One close in and the other from higher and farther back. I am in the middle of what may be a final render but I haven't made my mind up yet if it is finished. It is a bit slow as I have Bryce render running in the background and I am backing up some things to an external hard drive :)

Wow, that's a big scene! I can imagine it would take quite awhile to render. Love seeing the horses in the Victorian setting too. :)

A lot of the PC texture sets pre-date Genesis (and quite a few of them even predate V4, I believe). It looks like some of the product pages have been updated to indicate compatibility with newer versions of the MFD etc. I've even noticed a few old products sporting some updated promo images with Genesis 2 characters.

I never have time to go back through the oldies- good to know. This is the outfit everyone really liked- I put a blue bodysuit under it and used it in the Oceana / jetski scene.

    Mei Lin 6 (DAZ3D)
    Kita Hair For Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ3D / Goldtassel)
    Cheongsam Dress for Genesis 2 Female(s) (DAZ3D / Sarsa / Xena)
    Callidora Poses For Olympia (DAZ3D / Blondie9999)
    Castel (Nathy)

    http://www.daz3d.com/callidora-poses-for-olympia
    http://www.daz3d.com/castel

For just a simple pose, had to adjust the sleeves' front and edges all the way to 1.0. The hip also needed adjusting. The morphs for the dress are also easy to use. This dress did not show the poke through (chest) in the viewport, but when rendered there was a major problem. So be sure and do test renders of that area as it looked perfectly fine.

For the hair, it's the typical morphs where you adjust to the left, right, in, out for the bangs and the volume can be adjusted for the sides, etc.

Castel has been featured before, it's a large residence with a pool and I really like the porch as a backdrop for closeups. It's not a cheap product because there's a lot to it- but the pool is nice, and the curving staircase leading up to the porch is very elegant.

The lighting of the UE2 is a light to medium gray

Not sure about the Mei Lin bundles. They are inexpensive, but about half the content I don't need or will use. Like most of the base characters, though, so just thinking about it for now.

    Another view.

I got the Pro Bundle- I like the two sets of poses, Mayuree character, and two sets of hair, on top of the starter bundle. :) If it were only half off, I probably wouldn't have gotten it, but 66% off is a steal IMO. I have enough Asian/Eastern stuff though!

Thanks for showing the Mei Lin renders and describing your poke through problems with that dress. I see in this picture the neck area is a problem. I wonder why that dress has so many problems? Does it use a lot of negative displacement?

I'd love to see what the Mayuree morph looks like on Genesis Base Female (without Mei Lin). I'd also like to know what UV the Mayuree character uses for the skin.

I admit I am curious about Mayuree. I passed on getting this figure, because her head looks a little small in the promo art and there is a crisp quality to her face/makeup that didn't appeal to me.

I did pick up the base figure though.

I noticed the neck thing this morning (sigh)
I was surprised that with a simple pose, the breast was really coming through, both sleeves needed adjustments, and of course, the neck :)
She's in a very simple standing pose!

I'll do a Mayuree for you on G2F. And check on the UV. I just got back from getting 30 bags of mulch and attacking the center garden of my front yard. Only aout 60 more bags to go tomorrow. UGH. I'll start on Mayuree now.

Below is the same Mei Lin with Cherry Blossom Dress and Choko Hair. I don't think it has enough bend in the middle chest sections, but renders fairly fast and there are quite a few adjustments with it.

Okay, on the left is the Genesis 2 Female with Mayuree (high definition on both of these) directly applied.

On the right is Genesis 2 Female, then Mei Lin, then Mayuree. That is showing Victoria 5 UV end result.

They are using the same mats, it's just the lighting that would make them look a tad different. Tried to line them up side by side, ignore any height differences, it's just the Y translate to line them up with a good lightset.

Very interesting comparison. There is really hardly any difference to be seen. What differences there are are extremely subtle. The most noticeable difference is in the angle of the jawline and size of the chin, though, even that is almost imperceptible.

Thanks- hope it helps. I also did a side profile one in the viewport but it's almost impossible to get an exact lineup that way, and even then, the differences were even less noticeable. I noticed the chin and the thinner forehead / temple indentation at the side.

This is Mei Lin 6 in the Cheongsam Dress. (Which have already been mentioned)
    The hair is
Choko Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s)
    http://www.daz3d.com/choko-hair-for-genesis-2-female-s

All three components are part of the Starter Bundle,

Mei Lin is, in my opinion , the most accurate Asian character that Daz has produced to date. The eyes have nothing of Anime/Manga to them (nothing against those styles, I like them and they have their place).
The Cheongsam Dress has fitting problems, as Novica has covered - I hope the PA can make some improvements for a future update. It is a beautiful garment.
The hair is easy to work with and follows poses well.

Was it the bust, sleeves, and neck for you too? I thought it was interesting that it had so much poke through when it was featured on this particular figure. Nice looking render!
