@ all: A Merry Christmas to you and yours!
tis the time of the year to worship Shiny Spheres in Bryce!! (To hide their compulsive obsession for Bryce, most people call them "Christmas tree balls" and attach them to little trees.)
On little trees....?? Pah! I went for the largest tree in our orchard! Yeah!!
Bryce4 scene and render:
- Photo of our orchard, used on a 2D-Face.
- The snow on the spheres resp. under those laying on the ground are Terrains.
- Ulead PhotoImpact for texture work, bitmaps of the text, alpha masks for transparency... on 2D-Faces. Also for adding a final frame and the JPG conversion.
- Those 2 spheres which are partially hidden behind the trunk and a branch are booleaned. (I had tried with alpha-masks of the affected tree parts... but using quick&dirty Boolean was much easier in this case.)
Here my final render:
A here a different version which shows the wireframe of my Bryce scene:
Happy Holidays to all of you! :)
Hubert
hubert : thanks for your wishes and your beautiful cards.
From me as well : Happy Holidays to everyone !
For some reason I cannot attach a file, it keeps uploading ....... without result !
Went throug imgur, to get the image posted !
adbc: Many thanks for your wishes. A beautiful card and scene!
Hubert, thanks for the wishes and the nice card.
Everyone: have a great last week of the year and a Happy New Year as well!
hubert - Thank you. Very nicely done cards.
adbc - beautiful winter scene.
My best wishes to all Bryce forumites. Uploading images does not work anymore.
I feel that uploading images works now and then. I had trouble last time as well. I tried several times until I was succesful. But maybe now it does not work at all?
Hansmar, Horo: Thanks! Best Wishes to you and yours, too. :)
Hansmar, Horo : Thanks and Best wishes to you and your family !
Upload finally worked.
The terrain was generated from a cloud photograph and given a material from Gritstone Hills. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from HDRI Captured Volumetric Skies, the key light by the sun.
Horo : two wonderful renders, love the trees and the grass in the snow landscape, very special material effect on the second one, great sky and lighting.
Since it's that time of the year, 2 snow landscapes.
Bryce terrains, shadowless hdri for the sky, the object : Gendragon's satelite base.
a simple snow landscape, the house is from sharecg Kari Kosonen.
Horo:
- A wonderful card, thanks!
- Your landscape rocks. Fascinating bumpy details!
adbc - thank you. Very nice snowy mountains. The snowy landscape with the house also looks very nice. Both have a sky that fits the scene perfectly.
hubert - thank you.
Horo, thanks for the great card. And what a fantastic landscape.
adbc, the first terrain looks very cold and alien. The second one, though it is clearly a snow scene, looks cosy and inviting. Must be a great Christmas period in that house. Lovely shadows on the snow too.
How did I miss all these holiday greetings and new image uploads? Wowzers.
Hubert, beautiful shiny balls hidden in plain sight as Christmas ornaments. Merry Christmas to you too and thank you for the creation diagram. Interesting how you integrated the images.
adbc, gorgeous sky and fun sleigh...ready for takeoff.
Horo, thank you for the season's greeting. beautiful. Love the lighting on your terrain.
adbc, great sci-fi pic. The second image could be a holiday card. Lovely
Hansmar, NGartplay : thank you.
Thank you Hansmar and NGartplay.
The terrain was self made and given a material from Terrain Stacking, and a tunnel opening with a light inside. The bridge consists of parts modelled in Wings3D by David Brinnen, and the eurolink trains are from the Google 3D Warehouse. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI and the key light by the sun.
Horo : fantastic image, beautiful material on the terrain, great lighting. Love the bridge and the train that fits perfectly in that landscape.
A sunset image.
adbc - thank you. This is a very beautiful image, superbly lit and great how the sun halo ring just hits the mountain top.
Horo, fabulous train and track scene. So real looking.
adbc, excellent sky and atmosphere. Like the setting sun here.
Horo, NGartplay : thank you.
Thank you NGartplay.
Two Bucky spheres (Geodesic Domes after Bukminster Fuller), one behind the other, made in Wings 3D by David Brinnen, within a drawn-out sphere with reflection and transparency. An HDRI within the Bucky spheres casts shadows onto the surrounding sphere and the colours from outside shine into the elongated sphere with the camera.
Beautiful renders and greetings from Hubert, Horo and Adbc
Happy holidays to everyone especially the Brycers Looking forward to an awesome 2023 Brycing Year.
Horo, what a great landscape with bridge and train. And a very nice abstract too.
adbc, great sunset render.
Horo, thanks for the explanation but that's too complex for my wee brain. It turned out beautifully.
Horo : Excellent, colourful abstract.
mermaid, Hansmar : thank you.
Thank you mermaid, Hansmar, NGartplay and adbc.
I loaded a sphere object and it looked so cool that I had to add shiny spheres. I also added a couple of chrome pythons. Call me crazy, lol.
