This has nothing to do with my art but I just have to brag on my daughter a tiny bit lol. As of today, she is a registered RN. She took her state boards yesterday and she passed. I'm so proud of her! And now, because she is the youngest kid, no more school!! (you have no idea how happy this makes me lol) I am so incredibly proud of her.
Congrats, and you have good reason to be proud of her!
Thanks!
Wow! Nice one!
Thank you very much!
He he. Oh, yes I do! (Been there, done that.) And you have every reason to be proud of her. She wouldn't have gotten that far without your support. Or not as "easily," anyway.
Congratulations to both of you!
Hugs.
Thank you very much! I am pretty sure I might have passed the state boards as much studying as I have done with her over the past 4 years lol.
An important milestone, Sonja! You have every right to be proud.
Congratz!
Thanks! She worked really hard. I'm so glad we are done lol.
Two thumbs up -
and it might be indirect, but I bet all of our art is influenced by the people close to us. Two more thumbs up.
.
Thank you very much! And I believe you are right we are very much influenced by the people in our lives.
I love this prop. This is just the separate elevator prop. I have a whole series of other world/time travel ideas for this particular prop. Just love it. This one is going to be postworked, to help bring out the girl and the dinosaur a bit more clearly. Its a good start but still needs some work to get it to what I see in my head.
That looks really good. Wonderful idea for a render/story. I'm sorta reminded of Land Of The Lost, lol.
Congrats for your daughter, though I need to as what means RN? I#m sure you deserve to be proud and its a good thing to see them strat standing on their own feet!
I like the big cats in your Juliana render, especially the one trying to catch the butterblies ;) The elevator is still on my wishlist but you used it nice there with all that alien stuff around
RN is Registered Nurse
Thanks for the info Richard ;)
Thanks everyone! Sorry @Linwelly, I was camping this weekend and didn't get back til today. The phone is really awkward for posting in forums especially with auto correct lol.
Hi @icedragonart I copied my daz library from my desktop to my external drive. I think it took about 13 hours!
Now I want to download the program to my laptop. I downloaded DIM. @fixmypcmike advised me to filter the download content so I only download daz studio and plugins. When I filter for software & plugins I get a short list. When I add daz studio 4.5+ I get a longer list. Would you mind looking at the two attachments that show what the "to be installed" lists that I get are and, if you know, tell me which list I should be downloading to my laptop.
Thanks and there is no rush. I know you planned to go camping so you may not even be around.
(edit - sorry I did not mean to put this on your thread. I should have put it on mine instead of cluttering up yours.)
Don't worry about posting on my thread, I have no problem with that lol. I'm much more likely to see it first here anyway. It looks like the second list is downloading all of the tutorial stuff that comes with Studio as well as the rest of it. It isn't going to hurt to use the second list, it will add all of the content that comes with those free tutorials as well. If you don't have Zbrush you don't need the GoZ bridge, and if you don't have Photoshop you don't need the photoshop bridge either. Other than that, I would go ahead and install everything on the second list.
I don't have z brush but I do have photoshop. I'll go ahead and download the longer list then when I get a break from work or after work. It'll be great to be able to Daz from the laptop!
Thank you for your help, I am in business! Everything is working on the laptop so I can now play w/ Daz away from the desktop. So very happy!
I'm going to start making categories and such (I know I keep saying that). Do you have a suggestion as to where to start? What I mean is I have a lot of products. How do I make sure I'm am catching each one? Do I go down my orders list and pull up every product/set I've purchased? Or is there a better way?
My first thought was Royal Navy, but then, probably not. lol Anyhow, congrats :)
Lol no not Royal Navy! And thank you!
Honestly, the easiest way for me to do it was to just go inside Daz Studio go to Daz Studio Formats and start at Animals and work your way down.(or, if you want to add the aniblock's for animation to your custom categories start at the very top. Then do the same thing with the Poser library. Be prepared to be driven crazy by the Poser library lol. Its gets easier to find things as you work your way through, it does (sometimes) almost make sense. Or, if you don't mind materials, props, lights etc being all together you can start inside daz studio, go to products and start at A and work your way down.
If you have freebies and content from other vendors its probably best to do it the first way, as those items don't show up in the product library and they can be difficult to track down on the fly.
Okay I wanted to give an update on how my conversions to G8F are going. I must say its been very much easier than I expected although a bit tedious and time consuming. On the plus side of things, I am becoming re aquainted with a bunch of a really gorgeous characters.
So this is what I have done so far.
I've moved all of my g3f characters up to G8f using the directions in this thread
I've moved all of my V4 characters up to G8F using Genx2 from from Cayman Studios v4 legacy product. Check out Novica's thread here, for tips and a link to a super easy to follow tutorial and directions
I'm in the process of saving all of my V4 character mats to DUF files and putting them all in a folder I can easily find, so that I can use them on my transferred V4 morphs on G8F. Once everything is saved its just the push of a button using Legacy UV's V4 for G8F . I made a main folder inside of Daz Studio under the Presets folder and named it V4 Skin Duf Conversion (original I know lol). I am making a folder inside of this folder for each skin, and all the make ups that come with each character. This is the tedious part, V4 characters come with a TON of options usually and you have to save each one separately if you want to keep the face make up separate from the body mats. So for instance, AK Malaik has 4 full body skins and something like 20 or more different make up options. When you go to do the make up make sure that you UNcheck all of the body parts that you don't want mats saved for (those are already saved in the full body skin) like arms, legs, teeth, gums etc. The make up doesn't affect those so you don't need them for the make up. I unchecked neck and kept head as well as some tattoos go pretty far back.
Once I am done converting all the skins and make ups to DUF I am going to have to work on moving all the V4 morphs from G3F up to G8F. And I haven't even started on moving Genesis and Genesis 2 characters up to G8F lol.
I haven't forgotten the clothing conversion either and will be updating that thread as soon as I get a chance. If anyone has V4 clothing that you have converted, I would love to add any of your renders and/or comments and suggestions to that thread.
Thanks for the mention. However, reading it, it sounds like my tutorial takes Victoria 4 up to Genesis 8. Might want to edit that to say it's tips on getting Victoria 4 to Genesis 3 (and they'll see the other tips that apply to GenX2 in general.) The next post deals with doing materials tells what to keep when doing eyes, vs makeups.
I wouldn't use your orders. Use your Product Library, and simply note which one you started on. I would NOT do the P. Library alphabetically, because when you buy things, they will get inserted all over the place. Do it by recent orders, that way if you note what product you started on (say Thingamajiggy) then you know anything that you buy recently will be "before" it, closer to the top.
The way I did some of mine was to do characters first. Then I did sets. So I went by what the objects were, because those are "categories." Hope that helps.
Fixed to say tips.
I get confused about which characters are G3F. Since there is a Victoria 4 and Mike 4, I would think that G3 refers to V3 and M3, but somehow I think that G3 is maybe the 7 characters. Or maybe the 6.
V7 is the GF3 I do belive.
V4 and M4 are of GF&M1 I do belive.
V6 is off of GF2 I do belive.
but do not quote me on that, someone might be more suited to tell you which way it goes!!
