Sakura 8 looks amazing, great work @TheNathanParable !

I can't quite get the Filatoon lighting to match the look I'm going for so I'm still overlaying a separate shadow pass but couldn't be happier with the results regardless

I do like that the teeth for the G9 anime base comes with a vampire fang morph.

Good catch, @vrba79 and the hair looks great.

Damn, your custom face textures look so good! If you sold a pack of them, i'd certainly buy it!

They are cool, but found them to not be long and pointy enough for my liking. smiley I did a modification of them using Hexagon, in the end though I ended up using the G9 mouth instead since I got the Fangtastic product for G9.

Side by side comparison of a new custom character wearing Aery Soul's new Wasteland Outfit. There was very little work done other than increasing the outline size on the filatoon one. I also used a different color for the outline on the hair.

I plan to play with this some more. I kind of like the toon version but she's too washed out/pale and her hair should be a little lighter in color.

Comments or suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

Some experimenting with the emmissive/bloom to get glowing "Tron lines"

The emissive and bloom features are fantastic to use on windows for interior scenes or neon signs for night time stuff.

I keep finding neat little things I like about Filatoon.

What I've seen of it so far, you can get results that look just as good as PwToon and VSS, while its easy of use and very low resource cost reminds me of the dzDefault toon shader for 3DL.

I'm sorry I really don't agree, until it deals with opacity and trans maps refraction reflection etc better and lighting its no where a patch on PWToon etc. 3dl has so many more options and abilities than Filatoon.

Yeah, and it renders so much faster than PWToon and other stuff, while avoiding the transmap bug that can kill 3dl renders.

No joke a 3000x3000 will render instantly for me. I'm not even going TRY and render something that large with Iray. My PC would self destruct.

TheNathanParable and 3Diva, I hope we get some new products from you both for use with filatoon. Would be awesome! heart

  • Filatoon's draw options are nice for adjusting the color grading and things, as I definitely would like to skip the postwork, especially if it's a larger project or a piece of animation. Was messing around with it earlier to get a Sepia look and a flatter BW look.

  • Me try Filatoon now...

    Wowie, Game Girl looks good!
Think Food Mage might keep using FilaToon. Good job Daz Wizards, from 1 magician 2 another!

I'm working on a tutorial for one of the Filatoon products that I'm making now and will be submitting it to Daz3D as soon as it's done. I'm pretty excited about it as it's been hugely helpful in my own NPR work. It can create a wide variety of styles:

Thank you! I'm loving Filatoon so much and a HUGE fan of NPR styles, so this is right up my alley! lol I can't wait to see what people do with it!

Filatoon has transformed my workflow. Due to the nature of rendering with IRAY, I've always hade to do my scenes as composites. Rendering what I want behind the characters, then rendering the characters, and then rendering what I want in front of the characters. I'd have to composite it all in Photoshop and then fake the lighting and shadows so it all matched up.

Not any more. Now I can just assemble the scene as I want it to be and hit render. Heck! I can have multiple G9 characters on screen! My PC was choking on rendering just one G9 character with no scenery in Iray.
