I decided a niiinjaa with all that skin showing was problematic, so I went this way, and added some smudgie to her face.

    fixed some stuff.

Snigger. Nicely done. Some great characters which will provide a great many render opportunities.

In all my gaming journeys, nothing captivated me like the Norn, Jora of Guild Wars. I could not wait for Guild Wars 2 and the chance to play one. Unfortunately, unlike Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2 is half a bubble off terrible. So, I don't get to play them much.

Anyway, they are giants, individuals, and their warriors are, well, all of them, men, women, no matter. They are terribly individualistic.. a Norn is supposed to settle things.. by themselves.

This is a wip I've been on for a while. It is my character Lise.

to paraphrase Jora.. "the Norn need no armies. We are Norn"

I am disabled and fixed income, so, I make do. I have to buy stuff a bit at a time. So I make do.

I wanted a somewhat dramatic image for Lise, not bricks and walls.

So, I took the freebie platform from the DAZ dragon scene included with DAZ and flipped it, rescaled it, and added another.

I'm kinda happy with the results. In GW2, there is a dreary, shrouded, blasted land called Orr, ruled by Zhaitan and his risen armies. This is Lise, in that land.

very nice standfast..I really like the expression on her face. I am certainly looking forward to learning shaders by the possibilities you have shown in your thread :)

Something Novica said gave me an urge to make this render. My Norn warrior, Lise

    Big girls are pretty too.

Kind of a make do background.

Wilmaps Off the Shoulder dress for Genesis, Wilmap pearls, my shaders.

And then, Marta had a monumental hissy as only Dwarves can. Sigh. So, new dress new do, and yes, Dwarves are pretty too.

Another cute Wilmap dress with her materials this time.

It took 10 mins of explaining why putting a bow on an axe did not make it an "evening axe"

    And Lise..

How long is this gonna be. My feet hurt... who designed these "heels"............I HATE these lights. WHY do I have to run my hand through my hair???? You know... I'll prolly never wear this stuff again. I'm hungry too.

    I FEEL LIKE A DORK!!

This is great! I love how you think creatively and repurpose stuff. Also love Lise's expression in your latest one.

    TY Kharma and Scott.

yeah Kharma, playing with making shaders is so fun and changes things so much. Now I look at everything like.."now.. what would that look like". It has expanded my little wardrobe trunk drastically. The taffeta-ish effect on Lise's skirt came from me trying to make a wrinkled foil effect lol.

Teir"Dal rogue. Playing with Sickle's new set from ShareCG. Sooo happy to have a set of FLAT soled thigh boots. I just have troubles with my poor sneaky rogues climbing walls and being sneaky in the plethora of spike boots. Other stuff all mixed in, as usual :)

And too dark for most, as usual, but I like it.

Dark and rogues go hand in had. I do like that set a lot - especially the boots, yes! And boy, do I have some evil plans with it! It made my bf roll his eyes :D

You can blame yourself for some of it, Jade. Ya kind of drag me kicking and screaming to try things. :)

speaking of trying things. eh, a render with only a guy in it. I don't know if it is a wip or just something like "trying" horseradish.

sigh, I wonder if they meant the Jeremy default skin to represent some sallow cave dweller on purpose. I gotta figure out how to fixeth that.

K second image I de-pinked him and changed the composition a bit. eh.

This Freebie from SickleYield is amazing. I find new morphs every time I play. All the pockets on the Corset can be opened. Both belts unbuckle and can be played with. The boots can be slouched down to a more "piraty" look like I did here. The hood can be pushed back to reveal the head, as I did here. It's so fun to mess with lol.

    Standard skimpfare.

    "Not Enough Camo"

I found a little shortcut to fitting the Belts to.. um. "anatomy" of a female. I loaded an androgynous Genesis, put everything on, then applied my char morph, this is a Z brush char.

    Way less fiddling.

    Added the "real" version.

Eh, no Trish, I experiment a lot and have happy accidents. Nobody sees my train wrecks. But thank you. Technically, you are light years beyond me. I'm all visual, I have to do stuff and see what it did. When the pro tutorials get into posting numbers and techese my eyes glaze over and they lose me.

http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/29938/ has all you need to start making shader presets. I actually did a mini tutorial sorta there.

The new player contest wip threads can be a wealth of information.. or enough to give basic concepts to play with. The old WIP threads are still up as well. What I am able to do comes from those sources pretty much.

Trail and error is the best way of learning, isn't it? At least, it works for me. I think it's fun to do at least some experimenting in each and every render :D

I love trial and error, since a plan to make one thing ends up an unexpected other thing lol.

Wilmaps new top for Genesis and GenesisEvilClone2 http://www.sharecg.com/v/72736/browse/21/DAZ-Studio/G2Female-Shorts-Tied-Top

nice timing to work with the Sickle Rogue.

I made a heavy knit shader. Unfortunately, like a lot of fabric detailing, it is a non factor except for close ups and the diffused reflective effect.

Your characters have so much... well, character! Nice change from all the standard (look-a-like) beauties. You mentioned Z-brush -- very impressed if you are making these yourself, but in any case I love their unique looks.
