If I click on that location, all I get is a large text file.
Try right-clicking on the file and "save link as" or "save target as"..
I tried that this morning, same result, that was this morning however, I have to go into work early tonight, so will have to give it a try again in the morning, thank God this inventory is almost over!
I just did a right click save as and had no trouble with the download using Win 8.1
Thanks Robert, I've already had to shut down my other computer, as I have to go to work early tonight, but, this is the one night of the year, I get to go to work, and not really have to work, and that does get to be a boring night,
Okay, tried it again this morning, this is what I got!
An icycle transmap...I need that. Thanks.
:-)
I'm afraid that comes out as a text file for some reason!
Does here also.

Yep.. that;s what an OBJ file looks like outside of a 3d model program.. Try the right click and "save target as" trick..
Since object files are text files you might also try changing it from .txt to .obj
Yes, that is how I downloaded it!
Officer Stadanko Pull's over White Trash Ken.
Officer Stadanko; "Now Kenny, I need to warn ya, boy, you gonna be in a heap o trouble if ya keep drivin' without a license, and if ya don't get a license plate on yer car, and its also illegal to drive a piece of crap like that!"
White Trash Ken; "C'mon Joe, you know I ain't got no money for stuff like that, I got more important things to do with my money, Barbie ain't feelin' well and I still need my dozen donuts to have with my breakfast, you know I just ain't worth dealin' with when I ain't had my donut's, good grief Stadanko, yer a cop, you should know how important donuts are to a complete nutritious breakfast!"
Officer Stadanko; "I know how important donuts are Kenny, but I gotta tell ya, the department has hired a couple a new recruits, and these guys, they be clean shavin' and all, and if one o them get ya, they got ya, know what I mean? So just do me a favor, I know I been lettin' ya slide all these years, good grief boy, you ain't had a drivers license since the last one got suspended during the Reagan administration! Now just do us both a favor, and at least get a license plate on this rolling wreck! and get some insurance too! You know its the law!"
White Trash Ken; "Okay Joe, I., I, i'll do that!"
Heh... love that one...
latest? not happy with the mesh, but hey, its a decent start ..
Found these at the Sketchup Warehouse. Pretty nice 64 two door and the 66 Nova SS was always one of my favs.
:-)
I went and ddownload both the moment I saw your post, also found a 66 GTO!

I also Got a 65 Impala SS, never saw one of them before anywhere.

I'll have to go over and look for the 65 Impala, your right, I've never seen that one anywhere either, the 66 GTO isn't that great, like the 64 Impala, needed some body panel repairs, but not too bad to work with, that 66 Nova, that require separating the interior tub, bottom plate from the body, as some idiot made the interior, (the whole interior) and bottom plate of the car a part of the same material zone as the body chrome, then I had to separate all of the interior material zones, that car came out to over 30 MB when I converted it to an obj! But it will look good once I get all of the interior materials set! Should take a few weeks to get that done!
I will say this much, that body mesh on the 66 Nova, is every bit as nice as any of Dan Palatnik's meshes.
Okay, the 65 Impala is actually 66, no wonder I couldn't find it on the warehouse, even though the skp file lists it as a 65, on the warehouse it is a 66, and the body lines indicate its also a 66.
Okay, the 66 Impala is not that great, but believe me, as far as sketchup models go, it isn't bad either, not as well detailed as the Nova or the 64 Impala, it isn't bad for a background prop, and is a good looking start for anyone wanting to detail it, add an interior and such.
You mever know about sketchup cars. You just have to try. I have downloaded a lot of them, which only takes a second, then coverted them only to find bad material zones, bad mesh corners, Bad unions. Almost all have to have the normals recalculated, so I take them into Poseray for that. On the 66 Nova, my interior is chrome also but the seats have center sections. That could be changed to black though and would work. I did export it as a .3ds file, then converted to .obj in Poseray. Then into Daz.
:-)
When I loaded it into Poser as a prop, I loaded it in 3 parts, the body, the interior tub and the bottom plate which includes the wheels/tires, this cured the problem of all the chrome parts being chrome, such as the interior and bottom plate, almost like putting together a slammer car kit.
Thought I'd post my Halloween project here first ;) The Phantom Ride
Cool ride, is that one going to be available?
Cool ride, is that one going to be available?
Yep. DAZ took a look at it and it went into testing this morning.
nice work on my impala and nova betsy and same 2 u music. yeah i know the materials could have been better but i was rushing to upload them for a friend. expect a lot more custom models to b uploaded on my captainkirk account on the warehouse in the coming weeks.
nice... The Munster Koach revisited! Love it!
Here's the Nova again, in a more appropriate setting!
nice one betsy keep an eye out on captainkirks warehouse page in the coming weeks i will b uploading more classics.
Keep on making them like this Nova, and you will become a legend alright! Actually, the car is very well done, not a thing wrong with the mesh, but you do need to get the mat zones figured out a little better.
