Here is Janna with her 1938 Buick Y Job.

The real car was a one off, designed by Harley Earl at GM, it was his first design.

OK...now where did you find a working YJob? I have gotten that car at four different places and every one of the meshes were corrupted! I would love to have it. Been trying to find a good one for a year now! Please post or PM me a link!...lol.

Don't feel too bad, the 67 GTX doesn't work for me, I had downloaded that one from several sites, and it simply doesn't work, it was at N-Gine site I was finally able to get a working 56 Nomad too, so am not surprised that the Y Job doesn't work on every computer.

OK, downloaded it. There are 2 of them, one Model and one Full Damage model. Both are locked and after unlocking them, ZModeler 2.0.8 would import them (Zmodeler 2.2.4 or 2.2.6 wouldn't import them) but they were missing parts. Blender wouldn't open the lock or unlocked models.

I run into that sometimes, but for some reason, I was able to open it in Blender without any problem, I don't have Z Modeler, as we've been in a financial problem for awhile and I simply can't justify purchasing the license, not at this time anyway, but Blender opened it right up for me, the undamaged version of course, once I open it in Blender, ( I do this with all of the GTA conversions), I highlight the entire car, often I'll resize it, remove the DAM files, and then export the Wavefront obj, this is when I find out if I can even load it into DAZ Studio, if it won't import, I simply don't go any further with the model, no need to, can't use it, if on the other hand, it imports into DS, then I will go ahead and do all the hard work in Blender, before I go on to do the hard work in Poser.

I don't know if it makes any difference or not, but when I downloaded the Y Job, I did it on my gaming pc, since my DS computer was busy with a render at the time, it could come down to I just had the right combination of hardware and software to actually make it work, I know that if I download a building from the Warehouse on my DS computer, either that version of Sketchup 2014 or, that version of Blender makes a mess out of the building, and I can't get anything to come out right, but downloading that same structure on my gaming PC makes a big difference, and both Blender and Sketchup 2014 work very well, and am able to import said building into DS on my DS PC, the Chevy dealer behind the Y Job in the picture I posted is a prime example, I wasted hours on that one on my DS PC, but when I re-downloaded on my older, set up for gaming pc, I was able to export out of Sketchup 2014, and import into Blender for resizing, and then it imported into DS just fine and intact, so it could be how different computers except the information, also how different versions of the same software can effect things as well.

The version of Blender I used when I downloaded the Y Job was 2.63, and I've been using that version on this computer without any updating for about 4 years plus, I added the dff plugin in 2012 I think, don't know where to look for the version of dff importer I'm using, as the part I downloaded is long lost in a sea of downloads somewhere on this PC!

When I got my wife's old computer, when she bought a new one earlier this year, I converted that one for use with DS, so I downloaded the newest version of DS, as well as Blender, Sketchup, TDX Workshop and I moved all my Poser7 files over from one computer to another.

I have Blender version you have, but no .dff importer. I have never really used it either so I am not sure how to do anything in it. I have downloaded this YJob many times and they always open up like the 41 chevrolet out there. All exploded vertices shooting lines everywhere. Over half the car. Just no way to use it for anything. You got very lucky with it Betsy! Looks real nice too in your renders. You are a very lucky man to have it.

I got this one off a GTA site. It's the 1912 Ford model T. I think this is the one someone converted for the warehouse for sketchup. This one, however, is a lot nicer. I used a gold shader on it and DZFire's baby blue shader for the body. It has a top up and a top down so you can choose. The hood comes off also. Tires actually have treads...lol. They come off also so you can make them spin for video if you want.

Oh I know about that 41 Chevy, I never could make that one work either, nor the 60 Caddy, there are quite a few I can't get to work at all in Blender, those are just locked and I can't unlock them, then there are those I can load into Blender just fine, and I can even load them into Poser, but when I try to load them into DS, its a no go.

That Model T looks fine, however, they didn't use gold, they used polished brass, and the wheels would have been body color, as they were made of wood, the rims would have been made of steel on a Model T of that vintage.

I will consider that and make a new version. That shader is actually called "polished brass", not gold. It was a bonus one that came with the chrome shaders. The render posted on the GTA site had the rims colored this color, but I can change that.
