Oh yes! The Pinto. I had a friend who had one of these. He was looking down one day while driving and he ran off the road and hit a very small pine tree AT 35 MPH! It broke both his leags, one arm and gave him a bad concushion. That tree was so small you could almost bend it over. The Pinto was totaled. Took him 6 months to recover.

    :ohh:

Here's an interesting story. It is true. My dad was bad about taking engines out of one car and putting them in another. He did a little experiment that turned out to be great. He had a 1962 Olds F85 ( like the blue one below) that had a wrecked rear end. He had a 1962 Mercury Comet ( like the white one below...same color even) that had a blown engine. He pulled the 6 cylinder out of the Comet and trashed it. He pulled the 215 cu. in. ALUMINUM V8 small block out of the Olds and trashed the body. Get this...the entire engine was Aluminum, so it weighed about 300 pounds. With the hood off, everything inbolted, Me, my dad, my brother and my uncle, four of us, each grabbed a corner and we lifted that engine out with no lifter of any kind. We set it down on a pallet, backed the Olds out, rolled the Comet in, lifted it back up and set in down inside the Comet. The cool part is that it lined up almost perfectly. With a little welding of the supports, we had it bolted down in about 30 minutes. The Olds was a GM, the Comet was a FORD. After my dad finished hopping the light weight engine up to about 300 horses, that Comet was unbelievably fast. It looked stock and then he would pass cars in it...lol. This is true. I was there. No weight.

:ohh:Yeah, there is a reason why the Pinto was discontinued. It was allegedly incredibly unsafe. In todays market, it would be recalled for numerous safety issues.

Heh... my Comet was black, but otherwise pretty much the same.. Without the mod, of course..
Worst car I ever owned? Had a Lada for 5 years.. Agricultural to day the least, but to be fair, it was the best darn non-4WD winter car I ever had...

Yep but unlike the fiery Fiero it didn't go on total and permanent recall

Yep but unlike the fiery Fiero it didn't go on total and permanent recall True, it was simply phased out and replaced with the Ford Escort.

Here is a GTA convert I did. This 1955 Mercedes SL300 Gull Wing has one of the nicest meshes I've seen yet. Just smooth as glass. Great treds on the tires too. Gonna rig it in Poser for the doors and hood and such. Not sure what color I want though. I am not familiar with 1950s Mercedes colors.

This is my first Nascar. Someone told me about this car so I went and got it. The engine comes out for working scenes. The hood removes. The detail is extreme on the entire car as you can see. No shaders needed on it either. The entire frame is railing. The interior is what it is...a race car. This is Dale Ernhart's 2013 Chevrolet SS Nascar. It was worth the download and convert.

That is a nice car for sure. I've got that one, the Ford, and the Toyota and all 3 of them have great detail. I had posted a pic of them awhile ago but no one seemed to be too interested in them.

I like all kinds of cars. My favs are , of course, the 50s and 60s and muscle cars probably because I was raised with them around. Some of you guys will occassionally post something different. Like Betsy's big truck for example. Just cool to play around with something new.

What I would like to see is some unique render sets. Not the same old street scene, garage scene, etc. I like to see cars out on the road with unique backgrounds and sunsets. It's harder that way. One of my friends did a render once of a car in a tornado blowing through the air...THAT was interesting. Another did a flying car render going down an alley in NYC. It was way cool because of the lighting. I did a Mustang Boss 302 on a beach scene once at sunset. I gave it to a friend who had a Boss exactly like it in real life and put a license plate with his name on it. It was also the same beach he went to many times in his car and the license plate is from the state he lives in. It was my birthday present to him. I saved it in .tiff format so he could blow it up. He had it blown up into a poster and framed it. He has it hanging in his den. Here it is below.

Here is the 63 Stingray splitwindow. Didin't know it at the time but it is a GTA IV car. Don't have anyway of converting the texture file, so you have to just use colors. Mesh is nice but not much detail. No engine. No underside detail, just a flat bottom. The texture file probably had a photo underside. Great prop car though. Loads fast, small file.

It's a GTA convert....one of those sites. It has a removable top and a folded top filler for when it's down. I will try to find it again.

Wow, that's nice. Gonna go check that one out. 55-58 are my fav chevys.

    :-)

Chcecked it out. A little high at $18.00 for such a common mesh. The previews do not show the underside or if there is an engine. Would like to see those parts. At that price, should have a seperate frame, running gear and motor. Will wait for a sale on it.

(the 55 Olds is pretty cool!)

The only benefits on this car is the steering and opening doors, almost none of N7's cars have engines or underbody detail, of course the exceptions would be the 68 Roadrunner and the 58 Edsel, both of those are full detailed cars, and are nice of course.

And yet another shot on the Alligator Springs Causeway.

Some issues with "The Bridge", by Dexsoft Games, while I can be used in DAZ Studio, it is made for Poser, I had to change all the material files to jpg's, since they all come as TiFF files, so trying to actually load the model will just kill DS, I ended up simply importing the obj, and after converting all of the files over to jpg files, I was able to texture the bridge, using the surfaces tab and the converted texture files, naturally simply importing the obj also involves rescaling it to fit the cars you intend to run on it, the rest of the scene files that come with this bridge aren't really worth the effort, however, the water obj might have some uses in other applications, not really worth the $9.99 this model costs, now if you use Poser a lot, the model and scenes might be worth it, but for those of us who use DS, not so much!
