@ Horo - another wonderful render and I like the terraces.

@ Electro-Elvis - the wood textures looks great and the lighting also.

Adbc - The important thing is you completed the model,it is a beautiful model, like Horo mentioned with lots of potential.

Electro-Elvis - wow beautiful image and lighting. Thanks for the comment.

Still using the Hi-Res set 4 preset this was an experiment in rendering, the 1st is regular 8mins and the 2nd premium TA 36rpp took almost an hour,  and an anaglyph to complete the set.

ETA: the buildings are Block 3 by Drachenlords and the lighthouse a freebie

Elektro-Elvis - thank you. That ballroom came out nicely, very good lighting, too.

    adbc - thank you.

memaid - very nice terrain. I prefer the first, the TA is a bit low contrast; the anaglyph looks great - a bit on the dark side as if Maximum Ray Depth in the Render Options is a step low.

mermaid : I prefer the first render, beautiful terrain, great texture on the water and the anaglyph looks great.

  • mermaid010mermaid010 Posts: 5,492

Horo - thanks, I wondered why the anaglyph looked dark but it worked after I reduced the haze so I did not look further. I will check the MRD - it will be 4 I think as I used the source file.

    Adbc - thanks

@ mermaid010 - wow, this looks awesome. I like also the first render. Very nice textures and great anaglyph.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,646

mermaid - if you used any of the anaglyph sets, MRD needs to be 6. Each transparent surface the camera must look through or mirrors needs 1 ray depth.

    Thanks Rieke

Horo – I knew about the MRD being 6 but forgot this time. Although I did find the anaglyph dark I didn’t make the connection.blush

    Here’s a re-render

Same terrain as at the end of page 52 but from another angle. The unprocessed terrain was mixed with the processed one, given different materials and put up a slab of clouds. Sky colour and ambient light by a clear sky dome HDRI (PlaineMorte_CSD).
The anaglyph has just a bit less haze and a bit more HDRI Effect.

Horo- outstanding renders, the anaglyph is awesome

Electro-Elvis: Very nice low viewpoint and good looking vegetation in the one render. Thanks for your comment on mine. The lighting in your ballroom render looks very good, just like the textures, indeed. Wonderful light through the windows.

Adbc: Thanks. What a nice mood in your ice-cold render. I agree on the less successful part of what now appears to be a window. Maybe a small light outside of the window might have made it less harsh.

Horo: Thanks also. The terraces in the hidden harbor render are supposed to be layers of houses or buildings. But maybe the boat is a bit large, indeed. I love your new TE-filter modified terrain. Will a new version be available for all?

    Mermaid010, Rieke77: Thank you.

I made a new render with my last complex landscape. This is a view from the other side (more or less), with another sky. You now see that the cut-out of the lower terrain is rather harsh. But I like it. The holes you see in the lower terrain are caused by the fact that the negative terrain has spikes as well as a fractal terrain. I added a Genesis 2 figure with clothing and a weapon. To keep the Mb-count low, I deleted most of the actual figure, because it was covered by clothing anyway. And I changed the clothing textures to procedural textures in Bryce, which is of course no problem with a view from this far. The sky is one of the presets, but with the sun a bit more than 100%. Regular rendering in a couple of hours.

Hansmar - thank you. Concerning TE-Filters, I sent you a PM.
I really like your idea to cut a landscape by a negative one. This gives many new possibilities. I like this new work of yours.

Horo : excellent render and anaglyph.

Hansmar : great idea, beautiful landscape.

Thanks, you're right about that dark spot, I might try to make it better later on.

In the meantime I made an image with one posterized terrain, view from inside, "depth".

adbc - thank you. Amazing render, gives a feeling of a very long and deep corridor. Great light and colours.

    Horo : thank you.

I reworked that cave, adding a light (like Hansmar suggested) did not work, I adapted the sky settings to get rid of the dark window opening.

Horo, adbc: Thank you. Hope you start trying cutting landscapes! Of course you have all done it already for e.g. rivers or such. But maybe using it for random modification of existing terrains has its uses.

adbc: The dark window is gone, but, like you said earlier, part of the charm has left too. Now the window is again a bit light, perhaps. I know, you can keep modifying and changing and trying to find the best solution. I often finally decide to settle for 'OK' instead of 'perfect'. And your terrain with posterize is dazzling!

Hansmar : thank you. About that window, it's absolutely true and looks quite OK to me.

@ Horo -  terraces and anaglyph are very beautiful.

@ Hansmar - dangerous path looks awesome.

@ adbc - wow, I like the view inside the depth.
Your cave is so beautiful and I think, a stone window frame would also looks good.

adbc - the not-black-anymore window makes a huge difference and there is light on the steps from the window.

    Rieke77 - thank you.

The camera with the extreme wide-angle fisheye lens within a 6-sided pyramid, a bit transparent, reflection and bump, with an HDRI inside, and tone-mapped outside.
