Horo, that's so interesting, thank you. Saving these settings.
Thanks NGartplay, Horo, Adbc and Hansmar for the nice comments.
Adbc - very nice scene, love the trees.... freebies
Horo - awesome landscape very photorealistic, the lighting is superb.
Horo : cool render, the light through the trees is an awesome effect.
Thanks for explaining the fading mirror box.
mermaid : thank you.
Thank you agentsmith, mermaid and adbc.
LGartplay - you're more than welcome. One thing to keep in mind: if there are shadows cast, their direction invert in the mirror, also if a side is lit by a bright light, in the mirror it is on the other side.
Thanks for sharing, Horo.
I started from the spooky fog idea, but this did not come out spooky at all, so I decided to put it in this thread instead.
Hansmar - not spooky but charming. Cool idea with the eyeballs.
Hansmar - I agree with Horo a very charming scene, well done
Hansmar - Artisticly Surreal. Bit like a dream.
Quick and fun.
I used the "LinkMobTor2" object from the "Fifty Funky Shapes and Fifty Funky Metals" package with simple reflective colors plus blurry reflections and shadows.
Since I almost always insert a little grain over my renders anyway, I just kept this at 64 RPP's so, no postwork.
Edit...and, then a render with the blurry reflections turned off.
agentsmith - great LinkMobTor2 renders. I like the chocolate coloured first one but the second one has interesting reflections.
I used the Voronoi in the torus shape (see page 71) by agentsmith (thank you! ) with a golden material and put a blueish torus inside it that has transparency with low refraction and also reflection. I instanced the Voronoi object once and moved it away. Everything is inside a sphere with transparency, reflection and diffuse to get light, reflections and shadows. Lit exclusively by the WpH14_SC HDRI from the Hypertextures Base set.
Horo, mermaid010, AgentSmith: Thanks.
AgentSmith: Very nice renders. I specifically like the second one with the reflections.
Horo: I like the render with the multiple reflections and different colours for the tori.
AS, the first one makes want a bit of chocolate but I'm partial to that liquidy, reflective material in the second. What kind of light setup are you using?
Horo, love the lacy look of the torus. The haze gives this depth and make it look like it goes on and on. Well done.
Thank You Everyone!
NGartplay - "AS What kind of light setup are you using?"
HDRI. To get that 50/50 split of dark/light reflection on the floor, I knew I needed something high contrast with windows.
I used the "Leadenhall Market" from ''hdrihaven.com", they have free hdri's at different resolutions (I just use the smallest one at 1k)
https://hdrihaven.com/hdri/?c=indoor&h=leadenhall_market
The Infinite Planes Specular Halo was set to RGB=200 & the Object's Specular Halo was set to RGB=255.
(the amount of blur on any mesh is controlled by the Specular Halo value)
Horo - "Voronoi in the torus shape" - Trip-tastic & Awesome!
Hansmar : fascinating render with the eyeballs.
Agentsmith : Both images are awesome, great material.
Horo : cool voronoi render, great background and material.
Agentsmith - Both renders are superb, great material.
Horo - cool voronoi render, very nic background and material.
Thank you Hansmar, NGartplay, AgentSmith, adbc and mermaid.
Just a landscape to use the castle by Lucien Lilippe I downloaded ages ago.
Thanks AS, I want to do some closeup eventually and will need something that gives a good portrait lighting.
adbc, wonderful city scene. Nice work. I look at items in my runtime all the time and think to myself that I never used that or that one. We should start a thread to make an image using something you've never rendered before.
adbc - very nicely done.
Adbc - lovely render, very nicely done. I have been looking at objects/models which I downloaded long ago after NGartplay mentioned it. I have alot too which I never used.
mermaid, I made an image once just for the fun of it, using an item I had never used before. It was of an outhouse and M3 was coming out after using it :) I used to think that he was handsome. Now, of course, he looks pretty rough compared the realism you get now with Genesis figures.
Only after reading an earlier post by you NGartplay, I went thru my folders, thanks for mentioning it. Wow I did collect/download lots of models mainly from ShareCG, which I never used; for my last render I used one by Herminio Nieves - Futuristic Rural House. I don't use Daz or Poser so no Runtimes to check.
<<<We should start a thread to make an image using something you've never rendered before.>>>
Personally I don't think we need a new thread for this purpose, we can continue posting here, but if the others want another thread, I'm in.
NGartplay, Horo, mermaid : thank you.
A simple Wings 3D object lighting from ErmCloud08.
mermaid - awesome beautiful.
adbc: cute town, but they should do something about those streets
mermaid010: really lovely render.
Some new landscapes. Both made with various methods to create a heightmap, including e.g. starting with Terresculptor, blending with an existing heightmap, modifying in Bryce, blending in Bryce again, etc. Not really a fully transparent and well-considered workflow, but more hit and miss. One was started with PS Elements using various textures and then again modification in Bryce and blending with another one. The one with the flamingo's I would like to call 'Green canyon', while the one with ice is actually a double (stacked) terrain called Ice-island.
Mermaid010, that is so beautiful. Bryce does shiny, pretty so well.
Hansmar, two more wonderful landscapes. I like the canyon look of the first and I really like the cold environs of the second with its clear, blue sky.
Hansmar - two great landscape renders. The TE is very versatile and I can see that you experiment with all the options and features to create interesting terrains.
mermaid : Beautiful and shiny wings object, great lighting.
Hansmar : thanks. Both your landscapes are very well done, I like them both.
