Hm, the 'deck your genesis thing' seems to have kind of fizzled. I was sort of expecting new stuff to be added. Sadly,do not need any more pretty ladies for gen 4/5 with fair skin. I have so many!

There is the 50% off genesis people sale
    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-people-older-than-120-days

And all the Gen 5 bundles in fastgrab.
    http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/

Also you can stack the 50% off sale/ fastgrab with the deck your genesis thing. You do have to buy another one of the new items from yesterdy (pretty ladies or non gen 1 hair).

@Novica, was that a glitch on the valea store or is that sale no longer valid as I am not getting anything near the prices you did yesterday.

Edit to add: This is what I have in my cart now, I am assuming the sales don't mix, as I have one of hot men release plus some from Genesis hair and clothing sale ( which includes valea hair) and from new Genesis sale but as you can see I am not getting 50% off Sea nymph hair, only 10%, I can only assume I am not including the correct items?

    Cart

    Amon for M6 $14.95 $10.47

Cat Character and Hair $19.95 $8.98

    Baby for Genesis $14.95 $6.73

    Jepe's Ian Pierre $19.95 $8.99

    Sea Nymph Hair $18.95 $17.05

    Subtotal $88.75
    Discount -$36.53

    Grand Total $52.22

Anikad: that's a great deal for those who are missing gen1 bundles. thanks for pointing that out. Just noticed they also added a gen 2 version of the new hair which qualifies for the Deck sale. Hadn't seen that before.

They seem to have switched off the hot men sale but left up all the promo material.

I ended up just grabbing 2 items from the genesis 50% off that I have been wanting for awhile...too much to comprehend at the moment to figure it all out as to what works with what and I really don't need any more stuff...lol I have 1500+ items still waiting to be installed in DIM.

Custom chunky sci-fi jewelry for m4? Why have I never noticed this until now? Jewelry and bling can add so much to your characer and Michael 4 Earring Collection is designed for gen4 but can work on any generation character with some careful tweaking. Autofits for M4, Hiro4 and Freak4 are included.

For gen 6, you can start with using the gen 4 autofit, and then moving them up and down using the x, y controls until they are in the lobe in a good position. You may have to adjust the scaling to get them to both fit in at the same time or to match your taste preference. By default, they are pretty close. Depending on the jewelry, and pose further tweaking may be necessary (these are large earrings and adjusting percentages can help create a better fit.

In any case, these earrings may require postwork on the lobe. To postwork the ear, a little careful shadow and a dot of darker skin color smoothed and blurred can help create the illusion of piercing. I did this in most of the renders. I also adjusted the size slightly to improve the fit.

There is one texture with the earring set- silver, however they color easily with metal shaders

I’m sure you’ll agree these earrings look stunning! =-)

    Thoughts:

One thing I would like would be to have the ability to apply earrings L or Right singly. The earrings apply as a set. Since these are big chunky earrings you may not necessarily want two at a time. I would also love it if the texture applied automatically.

I’d also love it if the earrings had some wires or narrower centers. Without a good distortion morph for the lobe, narrowing the part that penetrates the ear might make more design sense. Especially when it comes to taking them off.. =-)

Sorry Kharma, not ignoring you, I was up until 6am this morning so was snoozing. I have to get two critters to the vet in about forty five minutes and haven't played around with the cart. This gets so confusing... that's why when they have a bunch of sales I just start adding to the cart, and I test a new release in the cart to see if the price changes.

Are you talking about the ValenTina Hair for Genesis? That's been there since yesterday (or day before, I can't keep up with this.)

Tested a Hot Men (the Warrior Hair) with Caribbean Queen Hair (which now is 60% off) and no additional discounts. So Hot Men doesn't trigger discount (as someone mentioned a few posts ago. Just testing for you.) Most of the items in Valeas store are 50 or 60% off.
But not stacking with Hot Men.

I think the Pepper Hair is interesting, I have it and not tried it (got it yesterday I think.) It looks really good on the men (but your men look good in anything! :) ) I like the earrings, but not that large. Just a personal preference, but also that second one made me downright hurt- looks like it has impaled the ear. Just because of the shape I think, but there's also very little skin left toward the end of the ear. The earrings make a statement and if too small, they look too dainty and "for women." Large and brash is more masculine. So just artist's preference as to how big. I just have to be honest though and that was my first reaction. (Edit- the first and third ones look fine to me, it's the second one (with the post) and the last one, which due to having such length, would hang on the ear with a lot of weight if that size, and again, the hole size.)

MelanieL, thanks for posting that Triplet dress showing the skirt morphs and material zones. It looks really nice. My wish list gets longer and longer.

SereneNight, Amon is really hot. The eyebrows would drive me crazy after a while though. Also I love the Pepper Hair. Is that Amon in the Earring Collection review?

Nice render, KaribousBoutique! Not my kind of stuff though, so I won't have to add it to my wishlist. (I bought Mountain Rite when it was 60% off and will probably put something different on the ceremonial area. )

I had been behaving myself this month until the 60% off on AntFarm and then today the 60% off on hair. :ohh: But I got some stuff I had been itching for. Will probably do a review for some old stuff soon...

That's My character Shaun. He is using the M5 body and head for gen 6 from Slosh, with a few details added. Skin was from Rendo for M4, but discontinued last I checked. Eyes I believe are Deacon's =-)

I didn't see it there. Must be getting old. Just saw the gen 2 version today.

Hah hah. I swore to myself no comments about M6 eyebrows. So see! I'm still on the wagon. Two days and counting. Something positive? So glad there is now M5 head for gen 2 males. I love the way M5's head looks on M6.

Edit. Yes that hair is pepper hair.

I tried to place the earrings close to the correct location, but with earrings this large the posts are going to have to impale somewhere. Poor Shaun, he'd never wear them the way I write him, but, well, he was the first character I had been working on, and the first victim I'd pulled out of the runtime. =-)

These would also look great on inhuman characers like troll and aliens with different body structures.

Yep. I tried to stay true to the size of the earrings which are big and chunky and oversized but I admit to resizing them slightly. Sorry if images cause you pain. That wasn't what I intended. =-)

Because they are two earrings if you made them small I'm not sure how it will fit. will have to check. With pepper hair that isn't really a problem anyway you can't see both earrings at once so no worries if one is lodged in his skull.

I can't say earrings like this do it for me in real life, but on fantasy characters I find they look striking and alien.

EDIT: I would love it if there were some thinner inner wires, on these with the ends chunky, but the center thin..

I forgot to add I did have to touch up pepper hair on Shaun. The shaved side rode too high for my taste preferences so I did have to Photoshop some more stubble there.

I take it there was only one material zone. You could polygon group edit out some of it, with the drag option (for selecting the polygons) it's really quick. But probably not something everyone wants to bother with :) That's one tool that once I used, I see so many possibilities with when I am looking at props, lol. You did great with the Pepper hair, would never know you dabbled with it. You're good with Photoshop!

Don't know how I missed this previously. Read the description, very cool I think.

You folks do know that all that stuff in the Deck Out Your Genesis sale is marked 60% off- right off the bat. You don't have to buy anything, I have nothing in my cart. And I am beginning to think that Valea thing yesterday WAS a glitch, because they don't have that stacking anymore, as we mentioned earlier. So note the 60% no purchase required, it's happening now.

I tried. Unfortunately, the earring is hollow, so when you edit some of it out, you see the fact that it looks like one of those chocolate bunnies just a shell.

Reducing the size to 50% should please you more though. =-) I added a final image to the review with the last wing earring at 50%.

Yes, I see 60% off. Urban Gear (the men's outfit with the ultra saggy jeans), is on sale at 60% off. I've had it on my wishlist forever.

I keep vacillating on it, because the textures don't appeal to me that much (they don't look jeany and t-shirty enough) but it is authentic to the kind of clothing I see some guys wear, but then I don't really have much use for it, so I haven't picked it up.

    =-)

I bought it because of the wonderful sags at the bottom of the pants- thought that was unique. If you're going to get it, you have about half an hour before the site changes over. Don't know when the sales are going off. Not sure what upping the bump and displacement would do but that might help the textures?

I tweaked the Gamma in the render settings of the last SeaNautica render I've been working on, and it's nice. I tried .85 instead of 1.00. It made it more... intense. I don't want to say "darker" or "more contrast" but I saw a nice difference.

Yes I'm thinking they did not want the sales to stack, the deck out your genesis was stacking with the following 50% off sale and also cutting the price of PC items. When they change the sale to a straight 60% off you could not longer stack or get a discount on a PC item.

Well, I went ahead and bought that Alembic Exporter- because it's normally 90.00 and is $44.08, but decided to add the Platinum Club items (yes, I was smart for once- I didn't buy them yesterday because I thought I could use them to hit the 50.00 mark and they would always be there)

So got the Alembic for $33.67. It got knocked down from 44.08 to 39.67 with the 10 percent, then it is DAZ so I used my $6 off. So got the 90.00 for EDIT- 33.67. I can always figure out how to use the thing for Lightwave later.

Heads up on that 50.00 get 10% off- it can end anytime. So if you are considering Alembic, keep that in mind as you're close to the 50.00 and might as well get $5 off your order.

I started a thread on the Alembic over in The Commons as I haven't a clue what it can do, but again, my kids are going into professional animation so it doesn't hurt to snag tools so they can play around with it. I bought iclone and haven't touched it yet, have to get back to curvy3d, and now silo. SIGH. But my sons tried Silo when I bought it and they LOVE it btw. (they are Lightwavers. Very steep learning curve.)

yep. I was at the gas station one time, with a man who had pants such as those was fillng his tank. He had his pants pinned to his boxers. Unfortunately, when he bent to gas his tank, the whole shebang came down. He dove into the back of his small car to adjust his wardrobe. =-)

I picked it up this am! It was still on sale. Will look into those textures. Just looks a bit... Bright to me. Mostly I see men wearing those pants and they are jean colored, and the shirts are white. Don't see guys in primary yellow, green or any of that.
