NGartplay, adbc, Horo, mermaid010. Thank you. The skies are largely thanks to the HDRIs by David Brinnen and Horo. I combined these with some sky presets and tried to choose a nice location for the sun.

NGartplay: Wow, what a lovely render! Great scene and well used vegetation.

Horo: Another interesting render from HDRI.

Mermaid010: Fantastic reflective terrains. The last one is really spectacular!

Another view from the Grand mountains, this time with a complete sky from the same set. This one has again the cut-off of one of the stacked terrains by another terrain, but that is not very visible in this light. I know this is a bit dark, but that is how I like this one.

Hansmar - not too dark, the light gives it a very nice mood, very nice scene.

Hansmar, that's a great looking terrain.  Like the material on it and the HDRI is giving the scene a nice effect.

Erich, I was at that party.  My head still hurts, lol.  What a cool surreal image.

Could someone point me to a link explaining how to imbed a large image into my post?  Why doesn't it do it automatically?

    Thanks Horo, Hansmar, NGartplay

Hansmar - beautiful mountains, I agree with Horo it has a nice mood.

Erich - well it's that time of the year, but this year is different, nice render

mermaid : your reflective terrains are awesome.

Hansmar : Excellent scene, great sky and terrains.

erich : very cool dreamlike image.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,644

Erich - welcome back to Bryce. Very nice render.

NGartplay - to imbed an image click on the Leo, this opens the Pictures library. Load your picture and the aspect ratio of the 2D-face created matches the picture.

mermaid - very nice, I particularly like the point of view.

Slepalex - this is a beautiful render. The track in this uneven snow looks excellent.

mermaid : excellent landscape, great view on the terrain and the water.

Slepalex : awesome winter landscape, excellent work on the snow.

the last render for this year, just a sky, a sphere, a plane and some bryce trees. (a rework of an oldie)

mermaid, I love how you got what looks like a shoreline.  The ship coming in from the left is a surprise.  Lovely image.

Slepalex, all the tiny details bring this to life.  From the birds in the tree, the brooding sky and the excellent snow and tracks.  Wonderful.

adbc, what a fantastic abstract.  I realize that it's trees but the whole feel of the image is an abstract.  Love the colors, really nice.

Horo, I want a big picture in my post in the forum, not the tiny attached file image that you have to click on to see big.  Am I misunderstanding?

After you have uploaded the message and picture, right-click on the picture and open it in a new window (tab), or left-click - the effect is the same. Copy the URL of the picture in a new window. Go back to your message and click the gear in the upper right corner, click "edit". The "Word" message editor appears. Click on the mountain landscape icon and a dialog box will appear. Enter the copied image URL in the top line. Slightly lower in the "width" box, enter 800 (pixels), a larger number is not recommended, a smaller one is possible. "Height" will be automatically set proportionally. Confirm the changes and a large image will appear below your message.

adbc - very colourful, there's so many things to see. The red sky with volcano clouds, the modified trees, the green clouds - really very nice and interesting to look at.

NGartplay - ah, I think you asked the question before how to insert the big picture into the forum thread - and I hoped Chohole would tell you, she's got the better method than I.
What I do: I write my text, then click on "Attach a file", when it is loaded, I Post Comment. I click on the image and it appears at full size. I copy the URL appearing in the address field of the browser. I go back to my comment and Edit it. I place the cursor at the end of the text, then click on the picture thumbnail in the top row of the edit window to open the Image Properties window, Image Info tab and copy the URL in the field, add the name and set the Width to not wider than 800 (that's the maximum permitted), the Height is automatically adjusted. Then I click on the Link tab and copy the URL again and set the Target to New Window. This full image appears if you click on the one embedded that may be smaller because it must not exceed 800 in width. Takes more time to read than to do ...

  • Hero, afbc, mermaid010 and Hansmar - excellent HDRI terrains all around.

mermaid010 - reflective terrain 1 is such a beautiful landscape. I really like the transition from blue to orange in the sky and the reflections..

S Ray - your waterfall turned out great. It's nicely framed by the vegetation. Well done!

NGartplay - door squirrel is such a great concept and the image is well composed. The illumination is very realistic.

Slepalex - Beautiful image. The snow and overall illumination is excellent. I might say that the clouds are a bit too dark.

    Thank you Dan Whiteside.
The clouds may be too dense. It also depends on the exposure of the camera. For example, like here:

Slepalex, gorgeous images with excellent detailing.  I love the atmosphere in each.  It adds realism.  Beautiful.

emangl, what fun!  Hubert will remember Woodie :)

Slepalex: Gorgeous landscapes. I like the upper one (very moody) most.
Btw: Fantastic snow mat and terrain in your previous image!

EMangl: LOL. I had hoped that this wooden guy got quarantined in the deepest available mine shaft! Though she seems to have escaped. -- I haven't created new Woody scenes since over 5 years now. Not due to a lack of zany ideas, but rather a lack of time, patience and accordingly "insane" Galleries. (I don't spend much time in forums/galleries nowadays.)

NGartplay: > Hubert will remember Woodie :)
Much worse is, that Woody does still remember me (aka "Uncle Herby") and my pranks. So, again, I got no Christmas gifts from them. ;)

NGartplay, thanks for the comment. But here I only have one render. The rest is pictures from the Internet as an example. This must be seen and understood.

    Slepalex, understood, thank you.

Emangl, Woodies everywhere.  The atmosphere and reflection on the ground plane must have taken some time to render.

    Dan - thank you.

Slepalex - very nice examples of winter landscapes.

    EMangl - fun image.
