Random render of the day:
A Panel
Random Renders of the day
Used a morph by Adam Thwaites, but used my own texture maps.
Test render of bodysuit and braid hair. Just an excuse to mix up some recent purchases.
I revised this one and used a different gold Athena statue, which looks a little bit less like a chef in the kitchen. x-D
Progression on a seesaw I was modeling in Hexagon.
Here, I'm opening an old setup from a while back to give it a second look and a new render.
Its something old, and something new...
Business outside the city.
Sizing up the competition:
^__^
Playing with Neon Lighting:
Some lunchtime exercise in the city. Need to render out a whole HDRI of the cityscape to save bandwidth
and also deal with the reflection issue, I really like the New York street set quite a bit. I can see some keys
added to the woman's hand and a water bottle in the other hand as well as a music device on the guy's bicep.
Detals...

Experiments with modeling a short skirt
Here is a precursor to that last skirt with a little different design.
Here is an experiment with some ballons I need to make the end less specular than the stretched surface of the balloon.
Train Project Update:
I haven't forgotten about my old train project. It is just that the material zones on the back of the train a re a bit messed up and I need to re-work them.
Wow you've been busy!
Her skin is awesome!
And I love your old see saw, I can remember playing on one of these.
Your skirt models are super cute, I like them both but really like the first one.
@IceDragonArt Yes, Always busy making odds and ends to keep productive and moving forward. Yes, the skin that came with the morph was a little flat, Not sure where I am going with all that, but learning as I go. Was going for a warmer tone.
I have been modelling little bits and pieces from memory like the see saw. It is an interesting challenge workinng from memory and hunting up little reference bits. I really like the rusty metal shader I used on that. I am trying to come up with a dirty plastic texture for the seats with some scuffs and scratches.
I am still unresolved about the skirt. If the texture could be like tassels falling down that would be good. Researching how to make that happen.
Here are some tables and chairs recently modeled. Again, memories past. A scene on a street corner.
:)
Update:
A latte to go along with the scene
Added more detail to a rebuilt cup. This one includes the inset indentation by the drinking spout.
Had fun using calipers and taking actual measurements. This should be fairly accurate proportionally.
These renders show me the importance of double-walled design for having two surfaces. Like the inside
of the sleeve and the inside of the cup. May need to revise to cover that.
This version remained non-decimated compared to the previous one. This feels like a better modelling job.
Update:
Here is a render after scanning some higher resolution textures and creating some alternate textures.
One thing that suddenly I notice is that the labels don't nearly go from top to bottom as they should.
This is due to smoothing in Hegagon on the object. Probably, that needs to be turned off to get things
completely right.
That is a superlative cup! Exquisite detailing :-)
@Misselthwaite Many thanks! I t is a great feeling when something modeled looks really sharp.
Update: Here is a test video. I am thinking to upload some modeling work and was testing Windows built-in Game Bar tool
for recording. Since this is pretty good quality, I am going to do some full project videos.
Playing with my Ape-men project having a little contact with the people from the sky. Just a rough draft.
Projects I keep coming back to to improve.
I love how the skirt rendered out - it almost looks painted...
Thank you @Misselthwaite. I think the window reminds me a bit of Vermer paintings with the light coming in from the left side through the windows.
I am working further on this based on a reference picture from some years back. A model was standing in a long abandoned hallway.
I spent the afternoon getting the texture of the tile/brick right, although I could reverse the groute color to be lighter.
And then I did various test renders building the concept up.
Here is a second render with the updated tile material. Several experiments here.
Another render test
A bit of progress on the hallway modeling. Coming along....
:)
Reder Du Jour
Here is a hairdo in the works being modeled.
Some further work on this scene/character.The tutu is close, but it seems there will inevitably need to be some post-work. I wonder if rigging the tutu with six radiating bones might help. sort of floike an octopus...
The thing I struggle most with this is to get the back to convincingly fold up under and crush like a skirt, or in a laying pose.
There is nevertheless much progress since March 2016 below
Who knows... maybe in another couple years, I will have this thing figured out
:)
A couple of experimental renders of a new character.
